ADHD is a disease largley pulled out of drs asses-dont believe me look up. I have a short attention span, I have a lot of energy, I can't concentrate on things that don't interest me, in short I'd be on meds if I were on school. But really the menace is kids spending so much time in school. Your grandpappy went to school less than you(and came out speaking 2 or 3 languages), now people are going to school from 5-22.

The ADHD and the meds revolve around compulsory ed and the lengthening of school. If you can't handle all this school there are meds for that. ADHD symptoms are the same symptoms of being above average intelligence, and some very smart people just dont do well in school.Our policy is to drug the best and brightest then wonder why china is taking over
My 22 yr old son died last Nov 2009 from an overdose of Ritalin (Methylphenidate). He was diagnosed with ADD at age 12. He was an excellent student until his 2nd year of college when he starting dropping classes and spiralled out of control. He tried respiratory therapy school and dropped out. He went voluntarily for treatment in Houston at Memorial Herman Park (PaRC) who kicked him out after 8 days of detox and 2 weeks of in patient. 7 days later he died. I am trying to help others for him.
@pwg1126 The same happened to me. I was an A student and when I took antidepressant called Citalopram it all fell appart. I failed my studies. MY brain is damaged forever

notice how she died after "5 years" of taking it. everyone knows that taking a stimulant drug for that long can have bad affects on your health! and also its only in a few people so we should develop a test to tell if you are healthy enough to take this drug. ive taken adderall for 5+ years for my ADHD and nothing has happened

When you get out of college, can you quit, No! Your brain produces less of the dopamines it needs to concentrate. It killed my 22 yr old son. He seemed great until his sophmore year in College. He felt he was a failure, Young adults are the most likely to abuse to be a sucess and please their parents.
this means to abusers or people who dont really need it. i take focaline and my bro takes the highest concentrated amount legal of ritalin. my sister also takes the medicine. there are thousands of people who dont actually need the meds. but i for one do. everone else saying OHH ITS BAD shut the fuck up my whole family has adhd and they all take the meds
I've just heard about a recent discovery that has been made about the possible causes ADHD. Apparently, the dopamine transporters (which are supposed to prevent excess dopamine entering the synapse) are actually reversed in ADHD. In other words, it is just as if the patient is on amphetamines 24/7. Interestingly, Ritalin, which blocks the action of the dopamine transporter, actually halts this reverse-action, which therefore highlights the possible true mechanism behind Ritalin's efficacy.
I have been taking dexedrine for the last 10 years, I only wish I never was taken off ritalin, I would of graduated. Now I heard a report from a doctor they are finding that marijuana can help kids with A.D.H.D. I don't advocate smoking it, you can eat it. The problem is the government has used the media to push there propaganda on the American people for so long you don't no who is telling the truth anymore. I say get all lobbist, out of the white house. They can no longer pay off law makers

There is such thing as non-stimulant adhd medication that would not fall in this catagory.

I took it for about 9 month, I'd be dizzy and sometimes on the edge of passing out
In that 9 month period, i lost about 15 pounds,
It even gave me chestpains sometimes
