  • This is an awesome posting, man!! Thumbs up all my life.

  • I love how you added the intro to their live album concert recorded in Sacramento, CA...I was there that night..It was a great show and David Marks was there not Al.

  • Beach Boys=effortless genuis

  • I've gotten so much joy and happiness from their music; I can't imagine my life without it. The world without Brian and his music will be a different world to me. Sadly, without Carl & Dennis, any reunion that Mike claims will merely be a tribute, not a reunion. I do hope that they continue playing concerts so that younger generations will be inspired to research and play Beach Boys music so they will feel the joy and happiness I felt and continue to feel. It's up to us to play it for our kids.

  • When Dennis died, the concept of a Beach Boys reunion died.He was the drummer, the inspiration for their surf music,a founding member, and a brother. When Carl died, the soul of The Beach Boys was gone.Thank God,Brian's still with us and making beautiful inspirational music. When he passes,The Beach Boys will just be a memory, and I will be mourning for a very long time, indeed.I pray that I die first.I grew up with Brian's music and their performance of it...Continued...

  • This song is called...Friends.

  • lets remember that it took all of them to make them! Brian wrote most of the music.

A definate Musical Genious!!!!!!!! That's why he triped====

  • Dennis may be gone from the earth but he will live forever within me. He so much to give, too bad the other Beach Boys didn't allow him to prove it. they could've done a whole album of just his songs their voices backing him up and they would've had several top 10 if not number ones in the 70s alone. that more than anything could've prolonged his life.

  • isn't this song "Friends?"

  • So sad about Carls passing, what an unbelievable talent.

  • Warmth of the sun is persistent in a transient world

  • BOBTROPHY: Right on the nail's head...

  • Thanks for posting

  • @runeguldberg

    HA! He wishes.

  • imo ... bruce j. does not have a rock and roll bone in his body. he is more a barry manilow than a BB.

  • @alienhuman god only knows would not have existed without bruce's voice in the vocal round at the end.

  • chanka ~ I suspect you or I could have easily done that just as well. Perfect example of his thin faint voice.

  • @chankagogo12

I hardly think Bruce did anything substantial for God Only Knows. I mean, Brian could have just sung every part himself and it would have been just as good and even probably better.

  • rip dennis

  • when i l went to hathrowne all i could think about is the beach boys:)

  • The Beach Boys are were and the best vocal/hamrony group EVER. If Brian hadn't abused his vocals and mind then..well just imagine what he could have achieved. I lovethe guy and the band. Great stuff. Love this channel :)

  • What's the song at 1:03?

  • it is.... Feel Flows

  • great old bank, thanks for posting

  • is there an end to the brilliance of this band? I mean its amazing the songs they produced

    in there legendary careers' together

  • Wow I wish you would have put on the song(TheWarmthOfSun) instead of a commercial. I still love the BEACH BOYS Thanks Art

  • The Best CD of The 2000s yet!

  • Great album but fails to match sounds of summer

  • i disagree these songs or a little more rare and have better harmonies

  • this from hawthorne CA right?

  • What's the song at 2:06?

  • it's called IT"S OK

Great song off the 15 big ones album

  • One of the most important things I have learned about The Beach Boys is that they are not a 'one sound' band like they are often represented, but rather have demonstrated the recording medium to be a blank canvas where unique things may be created. Such a rich band with multiple writers, vocalists... personalities - they have the depth to deserve further study. After Pet Sounds, we see a band whose members exploded into the forefront each in turn.

  • amen to that, im a huge fan but ironically i never listen to their surf music.

  • i think the beatles and the beach boys are really different, and it is a positive point! I listen to both and I don't find the same sound and the same feelings, that is just great!

  • I am English but must say I have never understood the suggestion that there was ever any sort of competition between the Beachboys & the Beatles. I was around when both groups were at their peak & surely it was a case of who you preferred. To me the Beachboys were out of this world & I owned most of their original albums & saw them on stage 3 times. Whereas I owned just 1 Beatles album but never wanted to see them live. The loss of Denny & Carl was just too sad for words!

  • That is so interesting. I was a huge Beatle fan, and T-Rex and I liked the Beach boys too. But your story is so interesting.

  • To all you Beach Boys fans out there.Their music and harmonies will live foreever.xo.

  • they will, they will my friend

  • I was out on my board once paddling when a dalfin scared the living daylights out of my. I caught aa glimpse of it's fin but it was so fast I thought GOD was actually going to grant my life long wish to die by Shark attack. I hugged my board tight and closed my eyes and the DOLPHIN gentle peered at me less than a meter from my face and just stood still. It actually looked at me and went under. The sun was incredible.

    ~What a moment!

  • I don't understand why folks need to compete over the Beatles and the Beach Boys. Where would music be today without either of these genius groups? Why compare Beethoven to Bach? Listen to Carl on this video: music is spirit, it connects people. It's not a competitive sport. God bless the Beach Boys and the Beatles.

  • Beatles thought Pet Sounds was one of the greatest albums of all time, forget the critics.

  • Miss you so much Carl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Miss you, Carl and Dennis

  • Thanks for this~~~didn't know it existed. Beach Boys forever!

  • I love them! Thanks for posting!

  • It was a real shame when Dennis died but the Baech Boys died when Carl passed away. He was the rock of the group and the glue that held them together. Carl you are missed old friend. RIP.

  • Yep, my opinion is that they became much older when Dennis died, I mean he was the wild crazy guy, young at heart you could say....but when Carl died, it was like the Beach boys died....

  • @bobtrophy 2 years ago and my comment is yea, you're right....that's it

  • @bobtrophy no sorry, they died when dennis passed away, they were no longer the beach boys with him gone.

  • @xxcharmed1xx i know, dennis was my fave beach boy, i actually cried when i heard his voice in this interview, i mean, maybe carl was the rock and the glue, but for me, dennis was the heart and the soul, you actually could see his soul by just looking at him, his eyes reflected a beautiful kindness i've hardly seen on other people, it's like if he was so innocent, so pure...

  • "Pet Sounds" is considered one of the best (if not THE best) albums ever made. That's recognition! It took a while for America to catch on to the importance of the Beach Boys music, but we're there now! MOJO magazine ranked "Pet Sounds" the best album of all time!

  • danzig2288 - 3 wonderful songs is more than most albums ever have, but the point about a great album is that should have a conceptual and artistic completeness, just like any other art form. Pet Sounds meets that criterion completely. It tells the story of post adolescent love and with all its enthusiasm, innocence, passions and occasional paranoia and self doubt and it tells the story magnificently.

  • There are many albums that tell stories artistically. I understand what you are trying to say, but I still dont agree. The albums connection to the Beatles, and the Brian Wilson saga is what pushed the album. Sgt. Pepper was far better.

  • and I understand what you're trying to say so we shall have to agree to disagree. 'Pet Sounds' and 'Sgt Pepper' are actually very different albums so opinions are ultimately going to be subjective. I don't even think they need to be compared artistically as it's ultimately a matter of taste.

  • I think you confuse the Beatles charisma and production value with musical sophistication. Pet Sounds is a far more complex album than the collection of songs that made it onto Sgt Pepper and Brian did it all by himself.

  • Anyone that counters Pet Sounds with Sgt Pepper has probably not looked past the critics best buy list. I understand your opinion, but I don't see any reason to respect it.

  • Funny, I would say the same thing about people who claim that Pet Sounds is one of the best albums of all time. These people probably dont look past the critics either, and read some list in a magazine.

I cant respect your weak generalization either.

  • As far as 60's pop music is concerned, no one can touch Brian Wilson's ability to write, arrange, and produce. The Beatles are superior in terms of lyrical ability, but that's it. They never scored ANY of the classical arrangements on their records and their vocal harmonies are extremely basic compared to the 5 part harmonies Wilson arranged. You may not have the capacity to "get" what Brian Wilson did, but that's no reason to disrespect his contribution to popular music.

  • Its useless trying to talk music with someone who tries and fails to insult me.

    Have a great day.

  • If "talking music" means making baseless generalizations and using subjective opinions as arguements, I agree. It's pointless debating music with you.

It's like debating a five year old on their doll collection. I like Sgt Peppers better, yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And the same to you.

    I like Brian Wilson! Weeeeee!!!!!

    You're a child.

  • Still can;t form an arguement so you resort to copying me. Who's the child.

  • The guy who's upset because someone is copying him.

  • musical oasis nice!

  • Capitol Records is finally allowing the Beach Boys to explain the purpose and passion behind their music. Maybe they'll get the recognition they deserve beyond the surf and car song hits.
