Good call dude, the best band and one of their best by the best. I've met BD a few times (an absolute diamond - he even gets the beers and cigars) and have an email chat now and again. I asked him how he was able to play the great run in the middle of the Vigil and sing over the top at the same time (we run in circles...) and he replied 'Practice! Practice! Practice!' So I did and I'm almost there...almost. BD has skills that others do not.
@gretzinabluehat Thanks! Agreed on all points about Buck Dharma. I wrote a letter to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for not having BOC in there yet. PS as a BD fan, did you ever hear his solo on Blotto's "Metal Head?" Very underrated guitarist.
@viewvacious Just checked it for the first time ever. You can tell it's an early 80s BD, somewhere between flat out, revolution and fire of. Another one I didnt hear till recently is Horsemen arrive, BD's backing vocals and licks are a master class. PS. He's fantastic to chat to about guitars and guitar playing, it's like being 14 years old again.
Hi, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, I have never player this song with any of the bands I am in or have been in. I did see BOC play it at Ruidoso NM last year at their concert during the bike rally. I got video but it's not the greatest, you can find it on Youtube at least from other members. It was cool, Eric Bloom told the others he wanted to play it because we were really close to Roswell where the UFO may have crashed in 1947.
The Vigil is one of my favorite BOC songs. I have not heard this song live in 3 years. I keep requesting it but my requests are denied. Do you play this song live?

You have come a long ways since those teenage years. I like how you handle that delay. Great job,
