if you wanna see this movie in its purist form, watch the unrated version. sure it is only a little bit longer, but that extra 3 minutes they added on adds a lot to the film. the violence is more graphic, the torture scene is shown in detail, and the movie is slightly darker. so its like a slight R.

The great thing about this film is that no one else could play the part other than liam neason.

The only down side is that its a little bit to easy for him.

Still an awsom movie though. I mean who dosen't like seeing a man beating the crap out of people to get his child back from knife welding drug dealing asholes in an action packed movie that is so cool it will melt your face.

He plays such a badass in this. It was sustained captiviating violence for much of the movie minus a slow start.

That a dad who will kill for you is better then a dad that will provide for you? I think I would very much prefer the step dad, since there are no slavers, and no one can bribe all of Interpol.

You might be surprised if you took a harder look. These are surprisingly real moves and a real-world, real-used martial art. He used something called Krav Maga. I'm sorry if you love movie action scenes with face punching, stomach toughness, and trodded-out fighting one-on-one with the big ugly bad guy. Real fights are over in seconds. I don't know who did the stunt production or teaching, but that is real violence. It's called Krav Maga, and yes, its violent, hard-hitting, and fast.

I saw this movie yesterday. It really was a quality film. Now don't get me wrong it wasn't an Oscar contender but then again I wasn't expecting that.

Most people that didn't like the movie wanted it to be over the top violent and laced with " F " words but I think that the PG-13 Rating fit it well. I heard that there is a UNRATED edition going to be on the DVD.

On a side note. I think that this film needs to be shown to highschool/college age kids...DON'T TRUST...and be aware!!! good fick!

i saw it yesterday, in terms of acting and originality it gets a 7.5/10 (it was really predictable. but liam neeson delivered quite well on his role. (with the exception of some dry bits here and there) action 7/10 (not gonna spoil the movie but they didnt do anything that wasnt done before) and entertainment a solid 8/10 (i actually wanted to see the movie to the end.) over all id recomend it, its a pleasent suprise.
