  • whats a nano

  • @agcalifilms usually tanks 5 gallons or less

  • @ancientpimp no thats a pico. a nano is 30 gallons or less.

  • hey man wht did u use for substrate? ( sadn, cat litter) thnks in advance!

ohh and how did u plant little grass like tht? is there seed u can buy or somthing?

  • @starthi this tank has no substrate, the grass like plant is riccia fluitans wrapped with fishing line on flat rocks or net.

  • @HeavensHostages Zellers has them in the flower vase section but you have to find one that's not too thick, you'll know what i mean when you see them. I think it was less than $20

  • That looks like grass... what is it?

  • @secretadmierer not grass, riccia fluitans.

  • Neon Innesa in 3 l ? Plz for only photo this fish

  • @Cetnar pretty much, i tried but they were too stressed out with room temperature around 22C. They were moved to my 30 gallon a long time ago.

  • @taschenkrebs80 i know, they have been moved to my 30 gallon years ago

  • Great tank I love it

  • This is a great fish aquarium. I want to

    build one now

  • nice work

  • nice nano

  • Hi.

All your fish are too small. They need a bigger tank.

Look at some of your fish. Good luck with your tank:)

(Sorry for my bad english, I have a translation engine:))

  • @AquaaZoe They're small breed fish. They're suppose ot be that small...

  • Beautiful. :)

  • i have a 1 gallon nanocube and i kept a frog in it:D

  • Zen and water resembles! Great spirit! Amazing

  • man that is beautiful

  • the fish dont belong in so small aquariums :) but awesome plants :D

  • love it.

  • Beautiful tank.

You can dose CO2? I didn't know that.

  • Seachem Fluorish is some form of liquid Co2, but i use this for very small tanks around 1 to 3 gallons only

  • lol...that doesnt look like a 1 gallon...it looks bigger

  • Thats a very nice tank! I hope you have good filters, though, with three tetras in that small a tank. Its cool to hear of another takashi fan!

  • Thanks. Yes, Takashi is the man.

  • Most awesome...

  • fauna and flaura? its flora...

  • love the tank, am loving the idea of nano tanks too. can't find a source of nano/micro internal filters though that fit in the tanks i am looking at. Where do you get yours? they don't have any in the UK that i can find

  • no filter on this tank, just water changes everyday.

  • wow, every day, how much do you take out? i guess that IS the best way to keep nitrates, nitrites etc balanced

  • the tank is just too small to house an internal filter, even the intake tube of a HOB filter is too big.

in a bigger tank a filter plus regular water changes is key.

btw i take out half tank water in this nano tank everyday.

  • Ash if you have a Walmart in the UK go to fish section and they sell these great filters called tetras there 1-3 gallons cheap and suction onto the inside of a tank.

  • i been doing begginer aquascaping for a year now...how do u prevent ur hairgrass to not grow hair algae? i had it to grow, but hairalgae kept growing...

  • Augh, the dreaded algae problems that come with planted tanks! First, you gotta check your water parameters, usually something like nitrates is off.....the trick is to balance everything in your tank which is easier said than done. Remove as much as you can by hand then do 50% water changes at least once a week . Reduce lighting as well and try Florida flag fish (Jordanella floridae) they usually help with hair algae. Try this site

    aquaticplantcentral(.)com/forumapc/fertilizing/

  • You can try the EI (estimative Index) or PPS method of dosing. Most people have success in reducing most algae with these dosing methods.

  • what are the plants on the bottom?

  • riccia fluitans

  • nice tank. How did u get grass to grow like that? thats so cool i wanna do that to my tank now

  • the foreground is not dwarf hairgrass, it's riccia fluitans wrapped around a wire mesh that came with it from the fish store. Although you can wrap it in flat rocks or small rocks if you wish. Just use thin fishing line.

  • I agree smaller tanks r alot harder. Mines only 48litres which is the eqivelent to 12 gallons im pretty sure and its only been set up for 4 mponths and i have lost 4 of my tropical fish so far due to the ph going up n down. Tropical tanks take at least 6mths to mature properly

  • I love Amano tanks! *swoons* His 'scapes look so airy. They sometimes remind me of Miyazaki landscapes.

I wouldn't reccomend keeping neons in such a small space, though. They need groups of at least six, and one gallon is far too small for that. Besides, they thrive on stability, and that's very hard to maintain in such a small space.

  • bull shit thats like 4 gallons..

  • People might think smaller aquariums are easier to keep but THERE not! You must be a master! (Y) Five stars my friend! :-)

  • hey, i've got two questions: first of all, how do you change the water without damaging the plants or the fish? how do you vacuum the floor?

second of all, isn't there a lamp over the tank? what is the lamp for? just for light or for the temperature?

im really interested in these tanks but as you can see, im absolutely new to this ^^

  • i use a small vacuum hose and i dont vacuum the foreground

    2. yes, i got a fluorescent lamp over it for the plants not for temp.

check out aquaticplantcentral or google planted tank forums if you're absolutely "new to this"

  • How does it work? is there a tiny filter? or how does the water go around :/? and do u need air things inside?

  • no filter, just daily 50% waterchange. No air bubbles to create surface agitation, in a planted tank with co2, you try and prevent too much surface agitation so that the co2 won't easily dissipate into the air.

  • Beautiful tank!!

  • What a work of art!

  • i would of put a fighter in that not neons. as pretty as it neons r fast swimmers so they need alot of space.

  • um, yeah their happier in that tank then you could ever make them in a 100gallon.

  • The tank looks awesome man. I'm thinking of starting a 5 gallon or 2.5 gallon planted nano soon.

BTW is this song from Final Fantasy X?

  • thanks, i have a 2.5 gallon right now as well with a few plants to start out.

Umm..i dont know if this songs also in FF X

  • Would you happen to know of any resources for creating one of these nano aquariums?

  • how did you use your anti-chlorine in your aquarium? i dont know how to use mine

  • just follow the instructions of the manufacturer-i dont measure it anymore, i just put a guesstimate amount in tank before i put the new water in.

  • I want to start a Biocube 29 but is it big enough to have 3 or 4 fish and coral is it really worth it or should i go bigger.

  • basic rule is an inch of fish per gallon but i have no experience with saltwater tanks.....although i´ve seen it done, small tanks especially saltwater comes with its own set of challenges. Good luck, hope it works for you.

  • basic rule of 1 inch of fish per gallon is useless and cannot be applied to all fish. The key is filtration systems, tank footprint and whether or not you're willing to clean it on a routine basis. I'd go and research info online. For saltwater tanks, depending on species I'd stick to 2 or 3. 3 to 4 fish if we're talking about smaller or less aggressive species.

  • ur right about that. i have 6 koi in 36 gallon tank. they are healthy and the tank is algae free and super clean and clear. just get the right filtration systems, feed them right. i changed 25% of water once every 2 weeks. Dont ask y i have so many kois in just a tiny tank because im building a pond.

  • 25%every week and vacuum the gravel , remove the death leaves and other death stuff

  • May I enquire, do you use a filter or is it just a case of regular water changes?

  • half tank water changes every day since its quite a small tank.

  • regular water changes everyday for this tank

  • How much did this cost you total? I really want to do this

  • more or less $70....the plants are priced ridiculously that´s why!

Price goes up more if you want the real tank available thru ADA (AquaDesign Amano) this 1 gallon size i believe is only available in Japan. Mine is a look alike glass flower vase from Zellers for $12, lol!

  • that's exactly like Mr. Amano's!! GREAT JOB!

  • I paid 200.00 for my 21.5 gallon and it was 245.00 with shipping. But I have to say its worth it.

They are just beautiful, and it damn near looks like its 25 gallons.

  • That's pretty pricey. I paid 575.000 for a 150 gal, so I technically paid way less than you for the size I got...

  • Nice.

  • Excellent job

  • This is so beautiful!! What kind of substrate do you use for something like this? Absolutely stunning!!

  • no substrate, the foreground plant is "riccia fluitans" tied with fishing line to flat rocks and plastic netting that it came with when i bought it. The stem plants are still in it's own sponge that comes with it when you buy it potted from the aquastore.

  • that's absoulely incredible!! many thanks for sharing!!

  • tetras need 10 gallons at least cuz they move around alot

  • one gorgeous ass gallon.

  • oke :D

  • how much is 1 gallow in liters ?

    5 liter or something?

  • 3.78 liters to be exact.....

  • Though this nano cube has been beautifully aquascaped with a nice selection of flora, I feel the chosen fauna is a little cruel.

  • Good point but they were transferred to my 30 gallon years ago. I dont put tropical fish in such a small tank anymore, temp range just fluctuates too much and causes stress so much that they dont display vibrant colours.

  • that tank is beast yet the music ant its like calming

  • That gave me a huge erection.

  • hah ur gay this fish tank is a boy! lol jk

  • funny

  • Very nice. I've seen a still of this tank somewhere on the net, and am happy to have seen your video/still collection here. Thanks.

  • beautiful. it shows that there are no limitations :D

  • Beautiful!

  • that really is a beautiful tank, and only one gallon! I've always admired lush tanks with thick vegetion, but have always had a hard time...any tips?

  • aquatic plant forums are going to be your best bet. And lots of patience if you go with nano tanks.

  • where did you get the tank?

  • its a flower vase from zellers but it was the only one thats not thick on the sides. You just have to hunt them down, if not there are a few suppliers of ADA aquariums in north america. Just search for Aqua Design Amano

  • my tank is Amano inspired too! i'll post it when my plants grow the way i imagined!

  • NIIICCCCEEE tank. really nice.

  • Beautiful, talk about making the most out of a gallon? What is your tiny grass on the bottom...Im looking for a lush green, but short foreground type of grass for my 55...dwarf hairgrass hasnt worked well for me.

  • riccia fluitans, too bad dwarf hairgrass didnt work for you. Riccia might be too much work for a 55 gallon and u certainly need a ton of it plus u need to tie it down to rocks of flat rocks etc. I've tried lilaeopsis brasiliensis before and it creates green short lawns but might also need tons of light and co2.

  • With one gallon of water you created excellence... bravo.

  • thanks

  • do you use co2? filter? and how about the water change? thanx... you just inspired me

  • co2 via fluorish excel, no filter just half tank water change everyday and a drop of pmdd everyday.

  • heaps thanx :D

  • nice tank!! its so solemn look at...

  • thanks!

  • stunning.

  • it was surreal when i finished this tank. A lot of folks dont seem to like the fact its a replica of amano's tank tho, lol! They get too serious about it.

  • ah what do they know. Amano's there to inspire..
