@JimmyGBA tough question that, it depends on what your looking for, if your looking for an rpg with depth, star ocean isn't for you, if your looking for a serious plotline, star ocean isn't for you, if your a completionist who want a laid back game with lots of hours of game time and replay value, star ocean is for you.
I've beaten Star Ocean 2, 3 and I am pretty close to beating 4. Tbh, I think 3 is the weakest in the series, but there's still appealing aspects to the game.

This was the first Star Ocean I played. I got the deluxe box version on Ebay Canada for pretty cheap sealed. I really liked Motoi Sakuraba's work first time I heard it was Valkyrie Profile. Fate's voice was real annoying. The difficulty was up there. I hated the Caverns part it was so stupid and seriously wasn't needed. You can also just button mash and get away with murder up until the 2nd disc when every enemy kicks your ass and you need ridiculous EXP for one level. 7/10
@WhiteGirlsAsianPLZ Oh i see, and i understand how you feel, i try not to ever make comments about voice acting when i make my reviews because its always a mix of opinions, like personally I thought Fate's voice wasnt bad, cliffs was bad but everyone else i thought was pretty well done.
And the battling I guess was sort of easy at first, but i did play it right when i played and that made it good
