I enjoyed this video! By the way, I was supposed to go there but...as a loner, it is a bit risky to go there by yourself especially in the cemeteries, what if there's psychos there!? D8!!!

Now, that I see they have statues, wow this cemetery is hauntingly beauty!

Not sure if I'm wrong, but you've to paid to get access to the cemetery?? Anyhow either way, I will go there one day.

This place is a national treasure. The only disappointment when I visited the West cemetery was having to be part of a tour group. Still, there's good reason for it. Would've just loved to ramble along at leisure and soak in the atmosphere.

First of all, I thought the ''song'' was Russian Orthodox chanting slowed down-It has the slowness and timbre of A Russian Church I visited in the 1970's, and not being Russian, I could not understand-eerie that it is words played backwards-Highgate is an evocative place.

Everytime we go to London we head there. It's an amazing place and has wonderful history. I am glad they continue to restore and preserve it;

I'm in the friendship league of this cemetery and my grandmother's funeral was held there in 1984. I loved the footage, but wasn't so struck on the soundtrack.

That was absolutely fantastic,I have only ever gone there once after a demonstration...well riot in London.Just incredible,the Victorians had quite an amazing attitude to celebrating death,I especially like the death mask photographs ...often it was the only time a person's image had ever been captured..,people had no money,techology not available... women were in mourning for a year,wore jet necklaces+jewellry with locks of their loved ones.We fear death ,they celebrated it as a new beginning.

Been to both Highgates. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Very atmospheric and a place of ethereal contemplation.

i used to go here at least 4 times a week at night in the 80's with a few people at 2am 11 at night whatever the mood when i read about the vampire that supposedly lived there...it has been massively tidied up and man's hand tends to destroy romance in as much as nature is altered.

...it was a wilderness with dark undertones at least to the imagination...and otherworldly...the strangest thing i saw occured by the main gates when i was passing from the road that runs down the hill

i feel because death comes to us all in the end . it will forever have that seduction of us wanting to know what it will be like . the nearest we have is cemeterys. like the amazing hugh gate above . i think they filmed the opening scenes to the 1970s horror film " from beyond the grave " at this cemetery .

Looks like a cool place to hang out for a few hours. I always wonder if there are spirits hanging out among the tombs watching me. I've tried to talk to spirits at the cemeteries I've visited. I've never gotten a response, but I've had some strange "dreams" following a cemetery visit. A psychic I know said that a spirit at a yard may follow a person home. Sounds okay, as long as it't not an evil spirit looking for trouble. Who knows.

There are a few ways in, after dark you have to be brave as the circular crypts at night can induce a sense of panic but it is very peaceful like a secret garden in the metropolis

This is Highgate cemetery in London, I go there often, but you have to have a tour guide to take you round the West part and it costs £5. You get a tour for an hour, and don't get to see everything you want. You can't go on your own , unless you break in! Did u break in? As you can't take any video footage for some reason. X
