I'm having some trouble sketching my pattern. Unlike you, the fullest part of my hips is 3" below my waist, and my tummy is actually larger than my butt. How can work in the extra fabric I need to cover my tummy?
Thanks for this! I've been wanting this exact information. I KNEW leggings shouldn't be really difficult or require a paper pattern. Thanks so much for showing me how!!
I love wearing leggings under skirts. Now I can have as many as I want!
those pants are FAB thank you so much for this video i have that exact same problem as you with tight on the hips and slack on the waist im going to try this asap
i just subscribed to your channel. if u get a chance, can u do a maxi dress? i want my first project to be extremely easy. i totally appreciate that u have very beginner-friendly projects already.
i hear a canadian accent. do u know drake? just kidding. nice leggings. i like that cobalt blue. i have the perfect royal pump, but have nothing to wear with it yet.
Ah! you're so good! I haven't sewn in years. I've been looking for a pair of treggings like the ones on the asian fashion sites but haven't found a pair nice enough to my liking. If I can't find any, I could sew some, thanks to you! (I'm nervous about messing up/wasting good fabric so I'll keep looking first, haha)
i ried your tutorial, pretty simple and easy. And ur rite:fits like a charm.! Going out tomorrow to buy some jeans material and trying my hand at jeggings. Great idea!
Just a question? The seam that goes from the crutch to the ankle, does the seam not break? Because the fabric is strechy? I wached ur video on sawing starchy fabrics and was wondering?
Love your vids and tutes, especially this one because I have the same problem with leggings AND the waistband, I've been sewing for years (self taught) and never have I ever come across or thought of that style of waistband, I am officially in love with it!! Thank you so much and keep it up :)
So, if I wanted to make striped ones, (really wide stripes, not little ones.) would it work if I sewed strips of fabric into one giant sheet then then cut the tights from that?
@silversteampunk Yeah, it would definitely be easier to make or buy striped fabric and then cut it from that, vs cutting the pattern into stripes and piecing it together from that. The great thing about my pattern is that there's no side seam, so your stripes wont get messed up.
@silversteampunk PLEASE! C'mon Stripes make you look fat.It is saying''hey, look at my legs!IO have circles going around it to show you how wide they are....I want to SUPERSIZE myself!''Sorry....My Mom got the book that's called Never look fat again.....sry :) (My Mom was 210,then dropped to 150,and still looked 210(until she dressed right)
thanks for the tutorial ...but have y ever tried makin an manniquin usin yuh body size....u can check the threadbanger vid to show u how so u don't necessarily have to measure yuhself so stiff.....
Hey:) Thank you so much, I love all your work!!! I like how enthusiastic you always are in your video's. Is it possible that you could make a tutorial for round necklines? I am having such a difficult time making them myself. all the best from Dubai and keep up the great work girl!!!
I love your channel :D I'm taking textiles next year at school and I'm going to watch all your vids! I've got a sewing machine and I want a career in fashion!! If I get famous I'll credit you :)
I love the elastic waist band technique! You are totally right on the rolled elastic hem, it does not look cute, at all. Also I love the fact you don't even put the pattern on paper, you're like "I don't need no pattern paper! F' that!", lol.
Hey Evange, might a make a suggestion? Your lighting should be at least eye level, preferably a bit above. I know it can be a pain in the arse to get it there, but it avoids that horror-movie lighting. You also looked quite lovely in your video.
WOW! This video is amazing- Thank you so much. I tried to make leggings today and ended up with a too tight butt and a way baggy crotch (not to mention super baggy legs) The pattern did not work for me!
I'm going to try one more time to alter that pattern- but next time I might go from scratch like this. I'm thinking though that you know pretty well how deep to draw those curves- is that just trial and error? How do I get just the right amount of fabric on the butt and crotch?
Thank you for making sewing videos that are so clear and easy to understand. I just made my own first pair of pants, wow they fit me!! I always thought sewing pants would be the hardest! Not!!! With your easy instructions!!! Thank you sew much!!! I am so excited to sew more!! Please do more videos !
@RuthiesXStitch I had filmed an explanation of which stitches to use, but I had to cut it from the video because of time.
I have a stretch setting on my sewing machine, so I used that (it does two stitches forward, one stitch back). But if you dont have that setting, a small zigzag is the next best thing.
Flippin amazing tutorial. Adorable intro. You were SO excited and happy. You do SUCH fantastic tutorials. Love love love love them. I've learned so much from you. I'm self taught, so I have lots to learn =). <3

@Skittl1321 Mine were a bit baggy in the crotch too, but not enough for it to be a problem.
Try turning the leggings inside out, putting them on, and pinning in the area where there is too much fabric.

A few questions. What stitch did you use? and, Would you suggest a stretch stitch or zig-zag?
