UMMMM Stephan Papadakis went 6.7s in his RWD Civic.  Brent Rau was using a 4g63 4 cylinder which makes it impressive but yeah, it is hard to beat v8 power when it comes to raw hp and 1/4 mile times.

Your comparison is pointless about RPMs though. If I was doing 30mph in my Evo in first gear I would be higher than 4k or 5k. That is just gearing though and how high we can rev our engines.
