use some Chlorhexidine Gluconate Antiseptic mouthwash, leaves a funny taste in your mouth afterwards but does the business, usually heals your ulcer in a day or 2

it's not herpes idiot. herpes is outside of the mouth. oral ulcer, or, in American English, canker sore is an open sore inside the mouth, or rarely a break in the mucous membrane or the epithelium on the lips or surrounding the mouth. you can get them from trauma or foods high in acidic like vinegar, chocolate or a lemon dish.

try having 50 of them in your mouth that hurt more than normal ones when your 8, im not even jokin i stil suffer with it all the time when i have ulcers im lucky to have less than 5 at one time u think this is bad i couldnt eat,drink or speak for a week and when i went docs i cryed when i opened my mouth cos it hurt that much then they gave me numbing spray so i had my first drink,just a warning dont EVER go into the swimming pool on hol and get the water in your mouth+then spit it out:|!

@madmegzinit i haven't read that canker sores are contagious. i've read they are inherited. check if a parent ever gets them. they are recurrent. buy a toothpaste like Biotene, which doesn't have the ingredient sodium lauryl sulfate

I also get canker sores extremely frequently and I've tried a lot of different remedies including laser and some various medication and I've found this new treatment works for me almost 100%. It's called Debacterol and ask your doctor to carry that. What it does is basically a sulfur type acid that burns the sore and allows new tissue to grow. The treatment is super painful but right after, the pain is immediately gone and the next day is usually healed!

the most obvious cause will be biting the inside of your mouth by accident and causing a cut which will turn into a ulcer, but i've heard that other causes are : brushing your teeth too hard or not brushing your teeth enough, also stress is a possible cause aswell, haha don't ask!
