  • The Osmonds had such wonderful and loving parents who taught them that fame wasn't everything and to believe in the simple things of life... unlike the Jacksons, who's father beat them and never instilled anything in their lives but heartache and terror.

  • Compare this with American Idol, yack! I don't mean to say that NO great talents can be discovered in those shows, like in OTI in latin America discovered great ones, but the screening process is destroyed by choosing on the criteria they use: looks, and certain qualities they look for as if only good-looking people can make great singers.

  • That is the cutest ever! I think she had a big crush on Andy.

  • LoVe it so much just that I never appreciated this when I was young listening to mum playing it on her record player lol.. not until I saw the video of it.. :)

  • LoVe it so much just that I never appreciated this when I was young listening to mum playing it on her record player lol..

  • This is actually one of the rarest recordings where Jay isn't always live-camera-hunting! Makes a BIG difference! :-)

  • THE OSMONDS: very talented boys (and a girl) & equally-gifted Andy Wiliams!

  • This video & the "music man" is great song to play

  • Amazing talent all the way around.

  • You better check the video "andy williams biography Part 5" on 0:53, marie osmond said when she saw andy williams for the first time, she said see looked up at andy's face and said "oh my god he's too handsome", check it out..

    bloody idiot

  • You can see beads of sweat on Andy's forehead. Early color televsion required a lot of light which caused the studio to be very hot.

  • Alan, Wayne Andy Williams Merrill and Jay

  • @ethelmurmur Thanks, I forgot all their names.

  • Awww! cuteness overload! I was about 11 when this aired...

  • @2:12 Marie looks so bashful there

  • This is at least a dozen kinds of cute.

  • Oh my Marie was adorable so little in Andy's lap, she looks about 3 yrs old.

Those boys had such pure, tight barbur shop harmonies. My sister used to have such a crush on Andy Williams, lol. He is a handsome crooner ;-)

  • @8mycrab She was actually a very beautiful 5 year old. I vaguely remember the Andy Williams show. Loved to hear her sing as she got older. I do remember the Donnie and Marie show.

  • @mjjrjjd I am sorry, after researching she first appeared on the Andy Williams show at the age of 3. This video cannot be 1964. Must be 1962

  • @8mycrab Too sad that those times in which gigantic artists like these are gone. Whe have they gone today? :-(

  • I'm proud to say that I loved this show. I loved Andy Williams, and I loved the Osmonds, all of whom could and still can sing. I'm also proud to say that when I was thirteen years old, I saved up my babysitting money to buy my own ticket to see Andy Williams perform, sewed a floor length formal gown to wear to his concert, and actually met him, and that later, while living and working in Hollywood, got to watch him record an album. Very happy memories!

  • Oh, the days when actual talent and hard work could get you somewhere...and it counted.

  • Just awesome.

  • Holdenon3, Andy Williams was no stranger to the Osmond's, he was responsible for them getting national exposure through his television program, and he loved and respected the kids for their talent. They were know as the one take Osmonds because they learned new things in one take and didn't mess it up during the recording or live performance. I'm Sure Marie was honored to give that dance to Andy on their show. If it weren't for Andy they may not have hit stardom.

  • @rubbing2000 That bitch is a STUPID ASSHOLE, Andy williams is an angel for the osmond, no doubt!!

  • what a lovely man...

  • That was beautiful. The perfect harmony was created by The Osmonds. Andy Williams is a gem not limited to time!!!!

  • @R4nd0mn33s Yeah, and ole Andy is still alive & kicking too

  • This is nice. Back when tv was wholesome.

  • @radconserv86 Exactly!!!!!

  • This just makes me smile!

  • God this is beautiful...

    Larry

  • aww they were such sweet kids, merrills such a cutie and still is!

  • What a wonderful look into the past! I love the harmonies between Andy and the 4 Osmond brothers. I think it's so precious the way Andy brushes the stray hair away from Marie's face. What a sweet video!

  • Wasn't Marie adorable and she was singing along with them.

  • My Grandma babysat the Osmonds! how cool is that! Thats about how old they were!

  • Comment removed

  • @LilShorty5050

    They sure did :-)

  • @trevor40 Cool!! Is there a video of that?

  • Did Marie ever get to dance with Andy on her 18th birthday?

  • These kids were truly talented

  • in one word: touching.

    Alfred

  • Very nice performance!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.

  • I must have read in a recent article that Marie had a son who died earlier this year. May he rest in peace. I love you Marie.

  • Can anyone else imagine the hours of rehearsal it took to get the smiles to be as cheesy as they are on this video. It must border into the realms of child cruelty. No kid would ever make those gestures or smiles without a lot of tears on the way.

    Any Comments?

  • @roystonowl1 People don't realize that these boys were pushed by their parents just as hard as The Jacksons were by their father Joe. They played state fairs all over the West. They had haircuts every 3 weeks. There were rehearsals, school, plus their religious training. Not an easy life.

  • Ha-ha, even at 13 years old Wayne Osmond and Jimmy Page looked alike! Type in "Jimmy Page 1957" on Youtube and watch the video and compare it to this one. Thanks for posting this clip, love the Osmonds, especially

    their early '70's, harder stuff.

  • Musically excellent, not to mention charming.

  • What a sweet video. The singing is superb. Marie is so adorable and so comfortable with Andy. He must be a wonderful man when you see how tender he is with Marie.

  • great song and version and show-they don't make them like this anymore-singers or songs.

  • Annmarie1697 is quite correct, I believe. And that is the order in this video...left to right is Alan, Wayne, Andy (of course) Merrill and Jay. This is vintage greatness!

  • This just made me cry from beginning to end.

It makes me remember when I was in high school as the stage manager for the Music Man and all the good times I had during it. Beautiful.

  • It goes oldest to youngest; Virl, Tom (They did not perform) Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie, Jimmy.

  • This is one of the best videos on youtube in my view. Such innocence and perfection. As a barbershop singer, the immense talent of the Osmonds will always amaze and astound me...not to mention Andy.

  • That isnt Donny, Jay or Alan on Andys left side--it is Merrill, who I always thought kinda looked like Donny

  • No that's not Donny. He is not in this video. He came after then Jimmy. I think that is Jay or Allan.

  • Its Allan

  • What a lovely video this is. The Osmonds are a real delight to hear and singing along with Andy Williams was a double treat for me. Thanks for posting.

  • @stewdoran i guess Doony was still in diapers?

  • Thats Donny on Andy Williams left shoulder. Thanks again for posting...................Marie was even gourgeous back then.

  • @stewdoran I just love this song and video for some reason.. I watch the video and listen to the song again and again and the osmonds aaahhhhhh they were delightful bunch when they were young.. <3<3<3

  • on this show, the osmonds were dubbed "one-take osmonds"--placing a tremendous burden on them to always perform perfectly

  • What's with allthe poltical comments

  • Superior piece; certainly no banality about it irrespective of justified or unjustified prejudices.

  • banality? What is that? Is that where everyone loves God, family and country and where young people respect their elders and drugs are not rampant. where porn was not tolerated. where the divorce rate and the crime rate are low and teen pregnancies and abortions are almost unknown? Where students pledged allegiance to the flag every morning and Christmas was the best time of the year and everyone knew their neighbors and life was happy and great? Gee compared to today give me banality any time.

  • Classic. They should all get together and sing it again.

  • good post , finally a man after my own heart!!

  • Perfection.

  • The Buffalo Bills version is perfection.

  • The Osmonds harmony is absolutely no less pitch perfect than the Buffalo Bills.

  • Lovely. I feel incredibly old; that's when the Beatles hit our shores. They were of course bigger, but this was fun. Thanks for posting (I was 12). I am going to weep endlessly when Andy Williams and Tony Bennett leave us.

  • Awesome song, just as good has they are now :-)

  • jay and merrill are very cute in this vid and marie is sweet

  • I saw this clip before and had forgotten about it. Thanks for posting it, I've added it to my favorites. Have seen Donny and Marie twice in Las Vegas, great show!!!

  • Aww... they grow up so fast!!

  • Wow!Talk about a cutie that could steal your heart. I wonder if Andy ever got that dance on her 18th birthday?

  • Marie did indeed dance with Andy Williams on her 18th birthday, as promised. It happened when she was on The Donny & Marie Show in the late 70s. (Couldn't find it on YT - sorry.)

  • what a cute dress marie is wearing.

  • who is the one on the top right?

  • That's Merril

  • I like this one.

  • <3 Cutest thing ever!!

  • Timeless.

  • I can't get over how cute Marie is here, she is so adorable :) thanks for posting

  • to think that donny(who ISNT there, everyone seems to be confused amongst the comments-he wasn't in the group yet)and marie are now painted across the entire west side of the las vegas Flamingo...

  • lol your right but bad analogy. RIP Tupac

  • I can't believe you can watch this video and think of Tupac at all. Nothing about their talent would ever make me think about him.

  • You people are way too sensitive. The guy was just comparing one end of the music spectrum to another. You gotta admit he is right.

  • At least these kids could SING they had TALENT...all tupac had was a police record..and a record deal...sorry had to go there since you are being an ass hole. If you dont' like this clip there are many places you can go.

  • Where was Jay? WE have Alan, Wayne, Meryl, Donny and Marie, but no explanation why Jay wasn't here x

  • Jay is there. He is the youngest all the way on the right.

  • No that's Donny, the youngest boy, then Meryl behind him, Alan far left and Wayne next to Andy, As I said, no Jay x

  • Nope. That is Jay. Plus, Donny is not the youngest anway, Jimmy is. Sorry. Just so no one else is confused. :)

  • No Donny isn't in the video at all. It goes from left to right: Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay

  • So why is Marie ( who is youner than Donny) in it?

  • They each had their own individual introduction onto the Andy Williams show. Look up Donny Osmond sining you are my sunshine, that was when he first appeared

  • Of course it does yeah x

  • That little girl had no idea she's going to be a star in her own right someday, and a big one at that!!!

  • Notice Andy is never sharp or flat---each note a gem ---wow!

  • And smooth as silk. Always a class act.

  • What a time capsule-- the Osmonds BEFORE Donny, and what I'm sure was staged to look like a tagged-on cameo by the OTHER most famous Osmond- the lovely Marie at age 4. Thank God for preserved tape television!!

  • My god, this sounds so good!

They don't make singers like that anynmore. Those kids learned first to sing (not scream). And live!

  • I'm not especially an Osmond fan, but that was lovely and touchingly sweet.

  • Grandioos wat een performer

Dit lied vind ik geweldig ook de Osmonds-

    I love Andy Williams

  • The harmony is exquisite.

  • mi se face pielea gaina cand ascult melodia!!! ABSOLUT SUPERB!

  • Agreed, this performance gives me goosebumps as well. Andy Williams' voice especially shines here although the young Osmonds sound great too.

  • de acord cu ine :))..... asa ceva auzi foarte rar... si cind auzi - nu-ti vine a crede :))

  • What a superb collaboration we have here!

Andy with his golden voice, The Osmond Brothers with their innocently sweet vocal arrangement...

The Osmond Brothers look so cute here, especially Marie and Donny...

  • Actually that's not Donny but Jay (the youngest). Allen, Wayne Merrill and Jay.

  • That is such a sweet clip. Thanks!

  • This is for you Des. xx

  • very nice clip!

  • i enjoy looking back at the sweetness and the innosence of those times at that genre of entertainment

  • lindo demais !!!!!!!!

  • At least Marie did not pass out with Andy Williams like she did on "Dancing with the Stars."

  • your sick mormonseatthiryoung dont send me anymore messages.

  • If he keeps sending you stuff, report him. You are entitled to your opinions m.e.t.y., but that's no excuse to treat others discourteously and bother them.

  • they don't sing to each other ... they "sing along" WITH one another... get your facts straight ... you obviously hold a grudge against mormons but there's no need to fabricate!

  • You VERY OBVIOUSLY need to get some help (and I think I can safely speak for EVERYONE when I suggest you do it NOW).....and it's ChriStians, you dumbass..why don't you go spread your spew on someone who gives a damn, because none of us on here do

  • Love the Lida Rose and Sweet & Low medley. Andy is one smooth guy. They don't make them like that nowadays.

  • This is truly a wonderful vintage video! THANKS!

  • syxbysyx2005 your sick

  • dude if youve been molested its not your fault, try not to pass blame onto others... and if you arent or havnt its a very serious thing the worlds most dangerous serial killers and rapists were molested as children...

  • This is adorable! It's funny how some jaded people can make such dark and hateful comments about the video...some people are still decent, kind, and moral; and it is so SAD when the world has come to looking for evil when there is none!

  • you get that in ever nice video babiebab

i swear you could have a kitten walking along and someone would analyze it as sexual. to everyone, NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT SEX. get over it sheesh. and enjoy the videos for what they are.

    thank you.

  • sick is what you are

  • wonderful ! ! !

did they just had microphones on their clothes?

Greetings from Germany, and thank you for posting this ! ! !

  • TV shows of the era used boom microphones immediately above the performers and right out of sight of the camera. The concept not used much today with the advent of modern, wireless microphones.

  • I love this clip. These kids were so talented and so was Andy Williams. I wish they had programs like this on television now.

  • So sweet and low. Thank you for posting this.

  • Marie and Andy, the sweetest and most adorable couple.

  • This brings tears to my eyes. sweet and innocent and did you hear one of the Osmonds say 'Yes Sir' near the end.

Actually apparently Andy Williams DID dance with Marie on her 18th Birthday!

But wasn't she cute in this clip ?

  • This is talent, this type of singing from youngsters, does not exist anymore, or if it does, we don't see in todays youth. They were perfectionist then! The Osmonds were talented!

  • Just look at the way Andy smoothes Maries hair from her eyes, and Marie attempting to sing along with the brothers, this video is pure magic, Marie is so comfotable sitting with Andy Williams. Mr. Williams at the peak of his singing prowess and the Osmonds at the start of their awesome careers.

This is something to be treasured forever :)

  • How cute was that

  • I showed this to a work colleague and he said one word... PERFECT!

  • True Classic! Marie was a little doll.

  • OMG what a cutie.. FANTASTIC stuff.

  • Andy's a sweet papa bear. So classy.

  • Thanks I believe this is where Marie Osmond started preparing for dancing with the stars

  • Such wonderful harmony.

  • AMAZING harmony-a few hours of practice involved. I think Andy really cared about these kids, no doubt. But my understanding is that Walt Disney gave them their first break in show business then Andy took it and ran with it. Glad he did!!!

  • You understand correctly; it was Walt Disney first and then Andy; and they never forgot that, to this day, they still mention it in/on tours....the Osmonds are very humble

  • Great video!

I've loved that song ever since I saw "The Music Man" when it first came out.

  • lol their hair is slick and greased.

  • Saw The Osmonds on Friday night at Wembley after a life long wait ... it was just the best thing ever, they are absolutely fantastic and I hope they carry on for another 50 years !!

  • wow. you just don't see this kind of talent today.

  • O.o o.O O.O

  • I remember, I think it was the Donnie and Marie show, that they played this clip where Andy Williams asks to dance with Marie on her 18th birthday, and they actually did dance for tv on her birthday.

  • I don't know when it was, but yes, Marie did dance with Andy on her 18th birthday (not to be rude, but it's DonnY, not Donnie...although I think it's much cuter with the "ie", since Marie's name ends the same way)

  • As a life-long Osmond fan (and Andy´s) I can not tell you what watching this means. It is an absolute treasure.

  • you can find it (if you can find the dvd - it's out of print, but not impossible to find on ebay or amazon market sellers) on andy williams FIRST volume of his show. NOT the two for sale at the moment.

  • You do know the little girl is Marie Osmond, right? She was cute, but looked a little drugged at first. The guy singing with them is not Daddy Osmond. It's Andy Williams.

  • LOL the little girl is so cute omg

  • FYI the little girl is Marie Osmond!

  • Wow, this is simply priceless. Beautiful harmony.

  • Such beautiful harmony. A nostalgic reminder of how things were then. Andy is a remarkable man who still practices his craft well at the age of 81yrs old !!! Real talent endures.

  • I can't keep smiling-perfect!!!

  • if you look during 2:22 to the end, it look as if daddy osmond wants to cry. That video shows how much he loves his children. Very nice

  • Father George isn't in this clip.

  • That's Andy Williams, not Daddy Osmond.

  • OMG MARIE IS SOOOO ADORABLE!

  • I can't listen to this enough! I love it!

  • Very nice...oh how times have changed! I want to go back to this era!
