  • I wanna hold your nose~

    I wanna hold your tooth~

I won't let you breath or even eat till you know the truth... I love you -U

    I was like Σ( ̄。 ̄ノ)ノ !(◎_◎;) holy shit!!! So pedofilish ( ̄◇ ̄;)

  • Who here thought this was going to be another Beatles parody? I mean, the Muppets were CONSTANTLY doing Beatles songs!

  • Umm...did the Muppet Show ever get this out of hand with...taking the Muppet apart? Cuz what we see here is definitely more up th Muppet Show's alley lol...it was a minority on SS :)

  • This STILL gives me a turning sensation in my tummy! Even listening to Bert's version as a child gave me the same feling cuz I could sense this was exactly was Bert was doing too! Geesh! *shivers*

  • The fuck?

  • Vintage sesame street rules

  • I love this.... I'm 14.

  • i wanna hold your nose,,,,, i wanna hold your tooth,, blank blank blank blank blank blank blank blank blank blank blank i love you,,,,, what does he say on the "blanks"?

  • @blansetalex

"Won't let you breathe or eat until you know the truth--I love you!" Kinda creepy if you think about it too much.

    Love the lady's "I don't care.", good thing she's a muppet.

  • 60 likes no dislikes? k your welcome

  • Gasp.

  • One reason SS got away with this was that in the early days the Muppets were refered to as the "Anything People", who could change eyes, noses, hair, etc desired. There's a few segments, such as with the 1st Gordon in "Consider Yourself" as he puts on the Muppets' faces, or the "Family" song where they keep changing outfits and hair, that emphasize that. The surreal nature of ripping apart the lady's face made sense in that context; she'll just go get new features..

Pity such fun is no more!

  • By today's standards this can be on the strange or scary side, but in the day when this was created there wasn't issues going on in the world like today. Then was an innocent time. We believed Col Austin could actually run 60 mph and wonder woman and Diana Prince were 2 different people no matter how much they looked alike.

  • I remember this being very creepy & bizarre! Sesame Street would never be able to pull this off today! Obviously before "No meant no". This is about as disturbing as the Ernie & Bert skit from the early days when Ernie & Bert were siitting in their apartment (the original layout). Something happened to led to Bert being kidnapped by monsters. When he eventually came back, Ernie asked him what happened & to his shock & horror, Bert shouted (in a monster voice) "COOKIE!"...THAT was bizarre!

  • Where's Grump When You Need Him?

  • Maurice Is A Striking Resemblance To Leo

    From The Muppet Meeting Films

  • In The Uncut Version, Maurice

Screamed Like Crazy At The End!

  • Poor Maurice

  • I was expecting more of a Beatles parody lol

  • Gross!

  • Days later, Jeffrey Dahmer had an epiphany. :D

  • I've had that song in my head since I was 7.

Please someone help me got it out!

  • This totally reminds me of the Tom Lehrer song "I hold your hand in mine"

  • This. Is. Disturbing.

  • serial killers delight!

  • I remember seeing this sketch when I was four, and I had always thought that was the Count. Only when I saw this about a year ago did I realize that it's someone different.

  • This is some funny s**t. Comedy genius! I remember laughing my head off at this when I was about eight years old. And I'm laughing my head off now at age 44. Check out that muppet chick's facial expression with the one tooth when she delivers deadpan "Maurice...I don't...love...you." I'm gonna pee...

  • This reminds me of a Beatles song called "I Want to Hold Your Hand".

  • No means no maurice! hahaha.

  • He wants to hold her body parts until she develops Stockholm syndrome?....

And then the tablecloth came alive...

    Wow.

  • @ariencalen It was scary when the table cloth came to life!

  • How delightfully insane. Please, somebody with a punk band, COVER THIS!!!

  • This is some fucked up shit.

  • O.o ....! this is so unconfortable to watch.... lol

  • its so creeeeepy omg

  • ^_^ We love you, Maureen Johnson.

  • lol <3 mj

  • haha, Maureen, happy valentines day. =D

  • oh maureen, you've done it again! happy valentine's day!

  • Um. Happy Valentine's Day, Maureen. :P

  • Haha, Love you too Maureen Johnson :P

  • I Love You Too Maureen Johnson!

  • Looks like the Count. Maybe the same muppet with some tweaks???

  • Idk what al you people are spazzing about, I think this is really cute :'D

  • O______O"

  • *twich twich* wtf...

  • I remember hearing a CD version of this. It was with Bert. Anyone else known that?

  • @ZNKChannel: I have that version as well except on an old LP. I grew up thinking the Bert version was the only one. Nice to finally see the original

  • Maurice is disturbed...

  • Gasp indeed...

  • I remember this. I couldn't get this out of my head as a kid. I couldn't reconcile why this guy was maiming this poor woman.

I kept thinking: "This isn't right."

  • @busymartian To teach kids about domestic violence in a creepy, surrealistic way?

  • @SnugglySara

Well, it's hard to call this guy exactly violent....

  • I never saw this as a child but did they really air this?!?

  • @animegirl095 Yes. They did. I can't forget this.

  • That's a little scary...

  • thiasis kinda fucked up.. hes liek a ocntrol freak. won;t let her have her face enless hse loves hi too.. XD b ut its funny.

  • Well, he did let her go in the end. And at least all the stuff he pulled off does like him!

  • The voice & personality are there. All that's missing are Miss Piggy's gorgeous body & wardrobe!

  • What the H-E double hockey sticks????

I thought I dreamt this in my perverse nightmares as a child. But they really aired this???

  • wtf...she looks like a corndog when he takes her apart...btw who is that guy,he reminds me of mike tyson...

  • This was shortened! Originally, after he said "gasp", that thing kept chuckling for a bit, then she turned to Maurice and sweetly said "Give me a kiss", then SHE kissed HIM, and then he freaked out and took off, and she laughed again. I saw that unedited version only once. I'm not kidding here. Anyone else remember that?

  • It's true, I remember it, I saw it once in the mid-70's when she kissed him and he freaked and ran away. Weirdsville for sure!

  • ...?!

  • This would be a great skit to use on an old fursuit that you want to get rid of!

  • Oh yikes!

  • w..w...whha....what the hell? (@___@)

  • I never remembered this segment on SS, but it would have gave me nightmares! Even on SS,they tell you that love stinks.

  • God damn this is creepy,

    even for a kids show.

Would be a great movie about a killer. Even put this song in it.

  • @silenthamish Stupid is a better word.

  • its not wierd, its funny

  • Wow man, I've been looking for this for the longest time. I couldn't have been more than 3 when I 1st seen it & it scared the hell out of me. It scared me so much that I actually called her "The Lady With No Face" & she haunted my dreams when I was younger. I've watched SS religiously as a kid & never saw this sketch after that. I did get over my fear a couple decades ago, but watching it again I can see why my 3 year old self was freaked out!

  • @goose275 I hear ya.

  • LOL this is fucking weird and hilarious!

  • She was utterly fickle! And his reaction at the end, "gasp!" that was classic comedy!

  • I can't believe this was from Sesame Street. I would've had nightmares. Was the song ever banned or criticized by parents?

  • that's the problem today parents are sensative about the wrong things to the point that skits were banded on SS I grew up on all the vintage SS, made be a better person. Back then we didn't have American Idol role models or gangstars getting their tv show for their affiliation. societies ideals are a disgrace today.

  • That's a kind of brutal example of unrequited love. It's more what one might expect on Muppet Show.

  • When I was 8, this skit got me sexually aroused. I don't know why then or now because it's rather savage

  • Maurice's taste in women isn't very flattering!

  • Maurice was voiced by Jim Henson but he didn't sound like Kermit.

  • WOW... I grew up on Sesame Street and never remember that skit... incredibly creepy! thanks for posting.

  • Help me out fellow fans. Which one came first? This version or Bert's version?

  • This was the otiginal version before Bert covered it which was only on album release.

  • Oh really? I always thought that there was a filmed version too. Wow.

  • yeah I was wondering that too, because I have the tape of Bert singing this, one of my favorite sesame street songs by far

  • @jonnytbirdzback MMM HMM

  • Yup. Still gives me a wicked case of the creeps!

    But thank you for posting.

  • Always loved this one!! Haven't seen it since 1975!!

  • The girl sounds like Miss Piggy.

  • Voiced by the same person -- Frank Oz.

While you're at it, check out the resemblance to Grover's voice, and then compare his to Yoda's. All the same fellow.

  • Why do they sometimes get men to do women's voices?

  • I'd imagine it's because they're good puppeteers and voice actors. I know that I, as a kid, never once questioned where Miss Piggy's voice came from or suspected it was from a man.

I'm pretty sure that Frank Oz and Jim Henson were fairly close friends, and I'd imagine that they probably had a good concept of the voices each other could do. Jim probably figured out that Frank could make a good Piggy. I'm not sure if that's how it went down or not, but it seems at least somewhat reasonable.

  • Ack. That was a reply to "Why do they sometimes get men to do women's voices?", below.

  • I don't believe I ever saw this one. It was rare in my time that Sesame Street would show Muppet clips as early as this.

  • This almost seems to fit the Muppet show better than Sesame Street, funny! If he was real evil he would just take her head...eep!

  • Yes, it does actually harken back to Jim Henson's earlier Ed Sullivan type skits. There are a couple in particular I can think of.

  • @mightyfilm The one where the piano eats Kermit made me nauseous!

  • Creepy, yet sweet at the same time. Just like the Muppets!

  • XD! This is so creepy but hysterical at the same time! It's reminds me of the "Big Round Nose" song due to the creepy guy ripping off people's body parts!

Gotta love how the girl can walk off without her bodyparts when she should no longer be able to hear or see him!

  • This one is just plain strange! I suppose some fussy types might make something of it, certainly it's weird how the guy can stick on and yank off all the girl's features. The really wild part is how the girl herself still doesn't love the guy--but all her parts do!

  • congrats on your 200th!

  • I kind of thought this rare, but neat classic skit was kind of creepy. But now I'm glad I got to see it again. :)

  • Wow. I've only ever heard the Bert version!

  • i don't remeber seeing this one as a kid

  • Wow,good find!

  • Ah, kindergarten... best three years of my life.

  • Yay! I haven't seen this sketch since I was in kindergarten...five stars!
