Did it ever occur to you that someone could work a job that pays in dollars AND engage in other work that offers no monetary award, necessarily, but that is vital to the health of people/animals/environment/com­munity?

We need to redefine work to take into account all the important work in this world that is getting done by people who are so incredibly selfless and ambitious (the opposite of lazy) that they will do this work without any payment. This is REAL work.

I like how the person that took and posted the video ASSume the fish died due to the toxic stuff in the ash.

Usually when spills like this occur, fish die due to lack of oxygen in the water.

Back in the early '90s, a phosphate clay settling dam in central Florida near Tampa was breached, causing phosphatic clay mixed with water to run into the Alafia River and toward Tampa Bay. Fish were killed from lack of oxygen.

In fact, fish often live just fine in contaminated water. Just don't eat them.

I'm from Knoxville and appreciate that you're trying to bring awareness to this disaster, however, the fact that you're continuing to watch the dog eat these fish is upsetting. Why didn't you make the effort to stop the dog even though it might not have been your own dog?

@annebonnylives Who "judged"? All I see is common sense. The common sense part is stopping the dog from eating the fish if the fish is supposedly toxic.

It amazes me how often people use the words "judge" or "judgmental", etc. in such a wrong way. They like to do so to shut people up because they don't want to hear viewpoints that differ from theirs.

And not everyone can leave their jobs, families, etc. and come help. Not everyone has the resources to help. Quit trying to shame people.

1. We have 12 different people in the field shooting this footage.

2. There are dead fish, turtles, sick people, sick animals--this is a HUGE disaster--and we are not FEMA. TVA has completely and miserably failed to deal with this disater.

We are chasing animals off--we handed out info door to door warning people about their pets. We are a small group doing the work that TVA should do.
