I have a couple more questions..1 regarding head gear.when is it appropriate to wear headgear indoors and when is it not? i watched alot of vids and DI's wear them indoors, from what i can tell, almost all the time. my 2nd question is regarding female recruits, why are the men's heads shaved but not the females? to me it seems sexist in this world of feminism, i am woman hear me roar, i am woman i can do anything a man can do etc etc.so i say shave their noggins too
@thecolaratlady yes i agree that the women should have their hair shaved off also, now about the head gear, it has been a polite gesture to remove you hat or head gear when you enter a building. now i do not know why they do not remove their head gear, i guess they are not being polite.

Spec Ops guys have a very difficult and changing job and sometimes, they can not connect with their loved ones either based upon their tactical needs. I like the pic of the Man. It is a shame that he never went to combat. I am sure that he wanted to serve his country against our many enemies. What I remarked upon is that he is a recipient of the Expert Infantry Badge or EIB, a feat in itself. If the person as an infantryman had gone to war for at least the 30 day requirement, he would have his Combat Infantry Badge or CIB. He would not wear the EIB as the CIB takes precedence over the EIB and both awards are not worn together.

Green Berets were NEVER drafted, it was and is always a volunteer organization in the United States Army and very select. Just as difficult and selective as the United States Navy SEALS. More drop out long before selection due to both the Green Berets and SEALS being some of the roughest and hardest training in the world's military.

I served in submarines (USN) 1977 - 83, then joined the Army to be in Special Forces (10th Group, Bad Tolz). On a parachute jump I broke 4 bones in my foot which prematurely ended my career as an SF soldier. There's a vacuum in my heart where SF belongs. This song gives me goose bumps. I have great respect for the men of SF, primarily US Army Special Forces, but the Spec Ops men of other branches, too. They have a TOUGH, DANGEROUS JOB that they do VERY WELL. I know personally, one of the top Green Berets of the Viet Nam era. His name is Lt. Col. James Roy "Bo" Gritz. he hran for president in 1992 and was defeated. He has more medals than any Viet Nam era special forces man liveing or dead. "Bo" is a fine man, gentleman and officer.

@edwdixon5 there was a draft, but Special Forces ect was volunteer. if you were drafted and you didnt want to be all you could be, you just didnt try, and were most likely infantry, or some lazy support, or worse a REMF. if you wanted to be the best, you tried and applied yourself, and perhaps you earned a green beret. volunteers were always better quality than draftees, draftees included the dregs, people that werent patriotic enough to defend their country without being drafted... sad

I was honored to have served as a Green Beret in the Vietnam this song tells it just like it was and my father is why i wear this Green Beret on every Veterans Day and Memorial Day to honor those that did not make it home. Our founding fathers believed (and I agree) that God created people with certain inalienable RIGHTS (that means that the government can't take them away--governments don't give rights), among which are life, LIBERTY and the pursuit of happiness. Jesus paid for our sins, and if you put your faith in Him, He will save you, re: Romans 10.9-10, et al. If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed (paraphrase of Jn 8.36).

He could be a white Muslim or a Protestant, makes no difference. Jihad terrorists believed in threats, and took them to heart and that is why they followed Obama, for fear of him or someone else extinguishing their family. It's not always about religion, but yes, in most cases it is.

I know personally, one of the top Green Berets of the Viet Nam era. His name is Lt. Col. James Roy "Bo" Gritz. he hran for president in 1992 and was defeated. He has more medals than any Viet Nam era special forces man liveing or dead. "Bo" is a fine man, gentleman and officer.

My Father was a Green Beret. Got drafted just a bit before the end of Vietnam. He retired just after "Desert Storm". I will always be proud of his service and commitment to the safety and security of this nation and it's people. Thanx, Dad. This song is for you.

@edwdixon5 there was a draft, but Special Forces ect was volunteer. if you were drafted and you didnt want to be all you could be, you just didnt try, and were most likely infantry, or some lazy support, or worse a REMF. if you wanted to be the best, you tried and applied yourself, and perhaps you earned a green beret. volunteers were always better quality than draftees, draftees included the dregs, people that werent patriotic enough to defend their country without being drafted... sad

@dragon7760 people have their opinions on war, who wants it. no sane person wants it. but you have men and women that want to fight. they don't fight for what's wrong and defend that. no they fight for what's right. no one wants to see dead soldiers, but it happens. some people argue about sending them into combat, but if they are indeed sent support them because in the end they are supporting your way of life.

I was honored to have served as a Green Beret in the Vietnam this song tells it just like it was and my father is why i wear this Green Beret on every Veterans Day and Memorial Day to honor those that did not make it home. Because to my father this Beret and what it stands for is everything. No one can take that from me as I will be buried with it on my head and in full uniform even though I have been out for over 35 years
