Thanks, this is a good video. I mentor for a high school FIRST robotics team in Kansas City. I will have them watch this video. One tool was surprised you did not mention was a sheet metal nibbler they come in pneumatic and electric although the electric are commonly found to be a bit more expensive then pneumatic. Thanks again.
@pelon5zero9 --- right on, glad you are enjoying the videos...be sure to watch "Home Welding Projects: The Doggie Door" and you will learn how I weld a gate =)
@walterbrunswick --- Yep, my little 'home metal-shop' may not be very big but I can get the job done...Thanks for subscribing and taking the time to comment!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours =)
@gredesandman --- Right on, thanks...never said this was the Only way to cut metal, just 6 easy ways I know how to cut metal in my little home shop. Heck, you can even use water for that matter.
@mrmldillman Yes it is very convenient.the only bad part is u cant weld with it..but acetylene is a very dangerous and unstable gas.it it blows up it will take out a house.if propane blows up its a lot less lethal.
@Turdfurgusen1 You can weld like crazy with Oxy/Acetylene. Get some RG45 or RG60 - works great. Some parts you need to heat slowly. Arc welds heat the metal real fast, and CRACK!
use propane instead of acetylene if your just cutting with it.its cheaper, cleaner, less dangerous, and u can get it almost anywhere.even on weekends when u cant get acetylene usually
@Turdfurgusen1 --- Thanks, I've been looking into that here lately...sure is a whole lot less cost, after you're set up, that's for sure. Hadn't thought about the convenience factor...Makes good sense!
@trekranger --- Although you have a couple options when making holes in rebar, the easiest option would be to drill a small hole. Trying to burn a hole may prove to be difficult depending on the size rebar you have.
Hi Mitchell, really like this video, but just a couple of comments: 1. recommend not removing the guard from the angle grinder (I have a friend that had a blade break and slice his hand really bad that way) 2. Even though you weren't doing it, viewers should know to not use abrasive saws with soft metals (e.g. aluminum); they will gum the blade causing them to go out of balance and possibly shatter.
How about that guard off the grinder? Did you cut that up too? Be careful or youll be building some prosthetic's...

@poopeybritches --- yup, you got me...and you are right!
There are new and improved angle grinder videos now available on my channel.
...and I need to drop some SAFETY WARNINGS on this video...
DO NOT Do as I do...do as I say!
ALWAYS USE THE SAFETY GUARD!!!
thanks =)

disgustapated 3 months ago
@disgustapated --- Yes, then you know it's true...The disc guard is a critical component when it comes to safely using your angle grinder !
And yes, I have. Not a pretty sight when anything explodes...Just happy to still have all my digits.
