Hot Topic didn't help either and it killed whatever creativity might have been proved by a new wave.

You're right in that labels bring about stereotypes, and stereotypes bring about a sort of persecution. And if you label yourself, you begin conforming to what your label "says" you should do. And that also suppresses individuality.

I don't see how emo got brought up on this video, but. Emo makes no sense to me. Kids trying to be individuals by wearing the same clothes, listening to the same music, and having the same hair style. I think they do it to get made fun of so they have something to whine about to their emo pals, so they can see themselves as victims or outcasts. I like some of their music, but it's hard to respect anyone whose identity is based on a music trend.

Emo is a culture based around a music scene its a derivative of Goth, and Goth is from the middle ages and romantic periods. Learn your cultures before you speak.
