  • fake

  • I like the nodes in the flame.

  • now make one that doesn't use primitive chemical energy

  • Let's touch it!

    Cuz it's so sparkling!

  • Release the Kraken!!! -engine fires-

  • fake!!!

  • @MegaRocketLaunch That is not a fake, it is an actual engine tested because of the readily-available methane gas in the solar system.

  • @johnkang2000 i know it was just a comment i made without thinking soz

  • at 1st i was like -___- but then i was like O_O SHITS AWESOME BRO

  • I want one of these in my truck bed for those tailgaters. But, I'd run mine on biodiesel and LOX.

  • WOW!!! What I beautiful test. The tail fire with the simmetrical rings. Absolute beauty.

  • @cmcespedes2 in the rocket industry, those are called diamonds. :)

  • @kereberus Thanks for the info, I happen to love these diamonds more than the carbon ones that people use to make stupid things like jewelry. ;-)

  • i watch this several times just to hear that sound!!!

  • LIES!

They cleaned up the audio. It will actually sound like fingernails on a chalkboard.

  • Got marshmallows?

  • Holy-Terrorist:>*=* Super airplane !

  • jizzed in my pants.....

  • wow that`s some scary shit LOL* but it`s beautiful i mean the fire xD

  • We have so many bright scientists commenting on this video. I wonder where would they be if copy paste functions did not exist on computers and Wikipedia didnt have an article on every topic you can imagine...

  • @arminask just remember those bright spots are shock diamonds which are formed when the supersonic exhaust from a nozzle is slightly over or under-expanded, meaning that the pressure of the gases exiting the nozzle is different from the ambient air pressure. A complex flow field results as the shock wave is reflected back and forth between the free fluid jet boundary and a visible repeating diamond-shaped pattern is formed which gives the shock diamonds their name. lol :P

  • @Arvak777 LOL :)

  • @Arvak777 Was just about to ask about that, thanks :P

  • @arminask : lol. exactly my thought

  • can anyone explain why the fire, coming out of the rocket, got this repeated pattern of bright spots?

  • Its called shock diamonds. Just google it, and you will find the answer :)

  • @McYxee Shock Diamond. (More commonly: Mach Diamond or Mach Disc) It's formed when the supersonic exhaust from a nozzle is slightly over or under-expanded, meaning that the pressure of the gases exiting the nozzle is different from the surrounding air pressure. A complex flowfield results as the shock wave is reflected back and forth between the free fluid jet boundary and a visible repeating diamond-shaped pattern is formed which gives them their name.

Sign me up for the first ride! :)

  • Incredible! ... 00:07 (this is realy orgasmic subsonic sound)

  • i agree its very orgasmic at 00:007 XD

  • whenever im bored i watch this video just to blow my mind away

  • Love those shock diamonds.

  • i ment lol shock diamondshaaha lol

  • Sounded like an oboe at the end there/

  • lol shock

  • my subwoofer just walked

  • ^^ same

  • For some details, search "nasa methane blast". The NASA page for this will show right up. (Can't print url's in text comments.)

  • wow a lot of people must of farted in that tank to get all that methane

  • Wow, it sounds so awesome

  • now let's just imaging being walking around right there at this moment... yeah, that would be a cool shot...

  • dude... z5500 sub, boosted at +22 volume at 75%, thanks.. my ears bleed for 20 seconds....

  • what, you're blaming HIM for how high you turned your sub!

    LOL

  • yo!!!!

  • Jokes aside the purpose of this engine is ISRU

or In situ resource utilization to make a long story short you can make fuel from the atmosphere of mars.

  • ooooh that is handy. Yeah I dunno the moral implications of sending a non-return manned mission to mars... this will make it easier 'cause they'll come home! haha

    MAYBE

  • i should shove one these up my bum and i could get to school in 5 seconds.

  • this thing could kill people in steps

1)the smell of extensive methane pours out

2)the thrusters could really cook well (only for those stupid enough to come into the firing range)

  • hmmmmm....must have one for the motorcycle.

  • could this be a way to lower methane levels?

  • hahha i played this vid with my woofer at the max and everything shook and after girls upstairs were stomping the floor! hahaa

  • that is excellent

  • looks and sounds like good sci-fi

  • Shock diamonds... Sweet!

  • Epic. Truly. The power is amazing.

  • How much Cowfarts needed?

  • a.)when it was 6 hour`s nonstop 7,500pounds thrust.

b.)how much Cowdung did we need for 12 hour nonstop Thrust.

    i want a.) in kg

and i want b.) in Tonns.

  • that is awesome.. ive watched the vid like 10 times, the sound is sweet

  • Did you know that they are using that rocket to explore the planets of OUR solar system that are far away with the rocket producing speed that 7x of sound, it also RUNS on methane which many planets contain and that results in easy REFUELING.

  • sry didnt see text opps.

  • On the test how many pounds of thrust did it do?

  • Yeah i read something about that, something about methane on Titan (Saturn's moon)...

  • You know there using that rocket to soon explore the planets of are solar system that are far away with the rocket producing speed that 7x of sound it also runds on methane which many planets contain which results in easy refuleing.

  • This vid reminds me of the rocket car scene in Terminal Velocity

  • I want one!

  • oooooooooooo crap that is sweet

  • Duuuuude! That's one bad ass exhaust pipe...o_O

  • powerfull

  • I Love this engine so much, the sound it makes as it kicks into the thrust is a dream come true! I want to mount that bad boy in the box of my truck!!!

  • Un nouveau pas pour l'humanité !

  • WHY HELLO LOVELY!
