Well, it isn't on par with Freddie (but he was unique, so who could be?) but it was much better than Katy Perry's cover of the song. I adore John, though. His rendition of "What About Us" is gorgeous. And he does a fantastic cover of "Anything Goes".

Well, I think it is fantastic that JB negotiated an opening song ala variety show to this program. It's fun to see him sing different songs, live. Even if the producers may have more to say about the song choice and arrangements than with his own shows.

He's both, has dual citizenship both USA and UK. When he's in Scotland and with his family or other Scots, he talks "Scottish" as he says. Otherwise, he uses his American accent which he learned as a child growing up near Chicago, IL, so he wouldn't be teased for having a scottish accent. He calls it a defense mechanism. I call it brilliant!

Definitely Tonight's the Night, episode 3 opening song. IMO, JB had to start at a lower range to get into his preferred singing range for the chorus which is why he "killed it" so well. He is one of the few consummate all around entertainers in the world today. And what energy, he's a force of nature or at least related to the energizer bunny! I hope this series gets renewed, even with the cheese factor criticism. It's a nice family oriented show with a positive message.
