I did read that all games in the game room, present and future will use the exact same code for emulating the games and the hardware. Am beginning to doubt that though. I have Millipede for the Atari vcs , the actual console and game, and its not has hard as the gameroom version.
@RetroInspection It's certainly possible for a game being harder on emulation, even though the original code was used. For example, an emulator can suffer from input or video lag, and that can make a game very hard to control indeed.
Very nice video Mr Custard. One cannot help but wonder why this capable machine the 360 obviously is - is not capable of emulating Roadfighter as it should be. Well I figure the Mame version is more close to the original arcade than the 360's attempt.
Could it be that it is worse on PAL 360s? I am tempted to answer no to that as with 720p one would think these differences are not really there anymore or are they? Are the Europeans still suffering from 50Hz diarrhea?
@markvergeer I don't think it's a problem of the 360 itself. After all, Game Room is able to render a perfectly smooth arcade backdrop in 3D. Also, not all games are as jerky as this one. The vector games appear to be smooth, for example. To me it either looks like sloppy emulation or a timing problem. It's a pity, because Road Fighter is one of the best games in the current Game Room lineup.
