awesome man of God! i wish the people of God (as a whole) could get to this place in their walk. stop trying to change what God gave you in order to appeal to the world. just give it to them the way God gave it to you. God is appealing already. but i don't think most really have grasped much of what he was saying at all. Lord, continue to shape and mold us into what you desire.

He is just so real, and so full of truth, humility and purity out of a genuine relationship with God. Much of the audience is shouting and hollerin after he says something that sounds good, without letting him fully give expression to his heart. We do the same thing with God. His awesomeness is so overwhelming, we get excited about one little thing, but there's so much more...substance to be embraced if we could keep our mouth shut and our heart open for a minute.

It's very deeply ingrained into the culture of most Black American churches to do the "Amens" and "Hallelujahs" and to be verbally and outwardly expressive in response to what they may be hearing or feeling. It's a great sign of being in agreement and just a natural response to the excitement that comes with being a Christian, but as a black woman myself - raised in Apostolic churches most of my life...I have to say - we should all value LISTENING more!
