Great video! I suppose these trucks were used for the Edward R. Murrow remote set-ups of Movie star homes in the early 50's. I can see why the picture would go in and out from line of sight issues. All that weight, cables etc... and now we have HD camcorders that fit in the palm of your hand. But you can't be the romance of the early days of TV.
Great video visit of this mobile Unit! When I started in broadcating I was 21 . In Montreal , The CBC had a similar ( already aging) truck with 3 Marconi II cameras .
It was 1966 and color was just around the corner with the World's Fair Expo'67 .
As you can guess ,our first color cameras were the RCA TK 42s . They were difficult to operate but for me, this was a great school both for color and televison in general .
Nice video, I love retro stuff. everything from old radios to old game consoles.
