I think watching F1 races from the 90s is just as exciting if not more than modern F1. Back then you could tell they were pushing those cars to the very edge of technical ability of the time. Modern F1 is still very spectacular, but almost a bit too refined and controlled. It's as if modern F1 cars are capable of so much more--they're just being held back by regulations.
yeah dude, i grew up watching the old Speedvision and the early days of "The SPEED" Channel, and the reason i liked was because it was pretty much the "every kind of racing except NASCAR" channel back in the day, not that i have anything against NASCAR, but it was the only channel ever where you could watch F1 boats or Australian Touring cars at noon on a Wednesday or catch every single minute of the 24 Hours of Le Mans live. Now its just shit like "Wrecked" and hours of bullshit NASCAR hype
I have the live version of this race....ESPN..I know there is a live verson if it With Murray Walker but I have this version with Varsha and Daily and I will post it as soon as I can convert it from VHS to DVD and cut through all the commerccial.....Trust me it is spooky....everytime I watch it it is like ripping the scare of Senna's death wide open
When i first saw this video i was thinking wtf when i heard the commentator say "wendlinger has a massive crash in the future at monaco", then they say showing part of their decades review blah blah... just sounded wierd to me because it sounded live.
@kingjimsix65 David Hobbs is the first commentator. Bob Varsha is the second. Both cover Speed channel's F1/GP2 coverage here in the US. Steve Matchett is usually with them (former Benetton mechanic)
I miss F1 decade. It was really cool to watch some of these races. I still remember parts of them even though I watched them as a toddler with my Dad. Wish they'd bring it back instead of all these nascar or reality crap Speed airs.
Peugeot hand-grenades they used to call those engines.

I THINK there was a slightly more important event at Imola in 1994

@wks1978 Mika Hakkinen was actually Senna's team mate at McLaren in 1993. Hakkinen replaced Michael Andretti half way through that season.
