You could always try the ultimate team web app in the mean time. I realise this doesn't fix anything and you're still stuck with the bug when you use the console, but hopefully that's at least some help. If I see anything a bit more concrete I'll come back to comment.

@jarkle thanks! and the web app doesn't work for me, it doesn't recognize that i have the game and it always wants me to buy the game first.
