No matter who won here, scotland deserved a win but the scots would never have gotten through the play offs anyway.

Even Russia didnt make it through lol.

but be honest , scotland is a good football country , there players play at the top teams in england that constantly play at top level , btw mathijsen isnt realy bad defender it's just that he has weak nerves , that makes him sloppy , he cant do anything about it , any def gets it sometimes specialy when its a 0-0 draw looking match , when a team is opfront any def gets more confortble in the match.

Mathijsen was his useless old self again in this match. Many of the Scottish chances were down to his sloppy defending and bad clearances. Unfortunately he is hardly ever injured and Van Marwijk, like his predecessor Van Basten, keeps turning a blind eye to his flaws instead of calling up quality players like Melchiot, Bouhlarouz and Bouma. We'll never have a solid defense as long as it's built on the shaky foundation that is Joris Mathijsen.

Cruel on Scotland to lose 1-0. We deserved a draw at least. Holland play high quality, fluid technical football but I don't think you can win the world cup as your defense is unconvincing and could be exposed in the WC finals by more ruthless, and less unlucky, teams than Scotland.

Het had ook zomaar 3-0 kunnen worden voor schotland, of voor nederland, vind dat schotland minstens 1goal verdiende, want ze hebben bewezen best te kunnen voetballen tegen de nummer drie van de wereld, alleen hebben ze het in de andere wedstrijden laten liggen, omdat ze maar zes keer hebben gescoord

Klopt, veel kansen maar steeds nét geen goal aan beide kanten.

Elia speelde het dan ook zéér goed uit, deed Robben dat maar wat vaker ipv blind schieten :)
