Me too and got the album of Devo that has this song, too bad it's not in the soundtrack. Say uh when did you first see this movie? for me 18 years ago at age 12 on TBS with those movies i mentioned. Cool movie eh, Taarna is a babe eh?
@Johnlindsey289 Lucky for you. I didn't see this movie until like 1999. I agree; it's a shame this song wasn't included in the soundtrack for some odd reason. But at least all the other songs used in the movie are included. And yes; Heavy Metal is pretty awesome for a film that's now 30 years old. Today, it still stands out pretty well. Indeed, Taarna is quite a hottie.
This movie is a cult fave among many directors from james Cameron to Zack Snyder, in fact this movie was one of the many inspirations to Fifth Element, Avatar and Sucker Punch
@Johnlindsey289 Yes. I can definitely see the influences of Heavy Metal in the Fifth Element and in Avatar. I don't think I've seen Sucker Punch though. What was that movie about?
@MDthornton83 Really confused what heavy metal has to do even remotely with Avatar. Unless you're just vaguely talking about a quote from someone saying it inspired them. But I don't see the influence.
@starcrafter13terran Avatar has many influences but some of the stories from the Heavy Metal movie and magazine were obviously one of it's biggest. Exotic alien worlds, dangerous creatures, sexy alien women, epic battles, heroism, etc. are all signature trademarks of Heavy Metal and are all present in Avatar.
Loved this movie since i was 12 18 years ago when i saw it on TBS with Rock and Rule, Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival, American Pop and Twilight of the Cockroaches, remember those folks? they all ruled my world and made me a fan of not for kids animation.
@PrankZabba If you read my thingy well enough, you'd see that I said it 'also appeared' in the movie (in addition to being on the "New Traditionalists" album. I didn't say anything about this being that version. I would've said something like "This is the version heard in the movie".
It was on some of Devo's albums and had some of those when i was 7 years old. It could have been on the soundtrack. Do you think Cheetara and Taarna would win in a beauty contest?
@Johnlindsey289 Cheetara and Taarna are both major hotties and would both definitely win in a beauty contest. I'd like to have a threesome with them myself.
This is the song I remember most of The Taarna chapter.

I always assumed that Devo sucked but this isn't bad.

@someonenobodycares Devo is a favourite band of many. I'd also check out "That's Good", "Whip It", and "Girl U Want."

@kurlobe You mean "a great movie!" lol

@starcrafter13terran James Cameron has listed Heavy Metal as one of his favorite movies. If you watch it, the influence is everywhere in Avatar.

@ChristianU2ubeh
Well apparently "Dances with Wolves" and "Pocahontas" are his favorite movies too seeing as storywise share a lot with Avatar.
All I learned about Avatar I learned from Mr.Plinkett. lol

@McLarenMercedes Pocahontas is pretty badass, I must say.

@McLarenMercedes
And you act like Dances is a wholly original movie, go see "Man Called Horse". And would you compare Dark Knight to Heat?
