David Allen, a former Mississippi heart surgeon, last month opened a general practice in Sacramento and listed himself on a Web site as a pot-friendly doctor. Marijuana, says Dr. Allen, 57, "helps the common conditions that affect every human being.

Dr. Allen smokes pot for insomnia, anxiety and stress. He says he quit heart surgery because what he does now is more lucrative.

Dr. Allen was just visited, in jail, by the DEA asking him if he would voluntarily give his license up because he is a licensed physician to this day. Check the licensing board and quit spewing false information about people getting screwed by the establishment, or you may be next. He was probably trying to help terminally ill patients instead of feeding them addictive narcotics. Good for him. My sister didnt die from her terminal illness that was under control but from the addiction the docs fed her( docs who own the pharmacies). I would have preferred her to smoke pot. No one dies of smoking to much weed.

First of all, Pete Pope was a Sheriff, not a chief of police. Ocean Springs is a city, so they do not have a Sheriff, they have a Chief. Second of all, Curtis Spiers is a Captain, not a sergeant. You also pronounced his last name wrong. Third, State officials was involved in this ordeal. Jackson County is a great department and im sure you were a great surgeon but your career has nothing to do with the seizure of your property. No one was that desperate for your land to go unlawfully to get it.

The sheriff is currently Mike Byrd, Ocean Springs is in Jackson County, and Pete Pope was interim chief before he was sheriff as well as a former mayor of Gautier. Sounds ta me like you need ta get your facts straight as well. I could care less about the rest of the story, but get your own information straight before you run around lambasting others.
