Goku and Krillin were best buds, and if the Cell Games are any indication of how worried Goku is about Gohan there would be no transformation. Both Krillin and Piccolo were once wished back, both were killed (Piccolo just sustaining critical damage to his heart) by Frieza.

While I'll admit, Goku was very frustrated over Piccolo, but that may be because he was just wished back no to long ago. Making the wish to bring him back vain.
