Well, switch the pickup out for a GFS Crunchy PAT, you don't need ultra-output to play punk, 8-14k DC Resistance usually does the trick.

Yes! I suggest a DigiTech RP70, or Digitech Grunge Pedal, if you're only going to use distortion and ABSOLUTELY no other effects, but, the RP70 has flanging, phasing, chorusing, and filtering effects, plus delay, reverb, and it has compressor and a noise gate. What amp do you have?

I know you go by the tab books i do the same thing but the only thing is the tab books sometimes translate the music from sheet music to tab wrong. while it sounds the same there are slight differences if you listen closely. I would recommend watching live performances and watch how he plays it. good cover though, i hope you get what i mean.
