  • Four people are just mad they can't sing like SNC.

  • These guys are coming to my town in two months. CAN'T FREAKIN WAIT!!!!! I'M SOOOO PUMPED!!!!!

  • @DukeDarkshadow Dude, they live in my town!

  • @JesusFreak9186 Haha. Awesome!

  • they are really talented. I like how they can stay in harmony.

  • Believe it or not, I know all these guys personally.

  • @JesusFreak9186 that's awesome

  • AHHH oh my goodness! i did this song with my all girls a cappella group! i love it so much!

  • Is that the soloist from that one Czech group that did it? O.O

  • WAHNSINN!!! Super Zusammenspiel! Klasse!

  • jewjew jewjewjewjewwwwwwwwww

  • @kennedbabz exactly what i was thinking!!! lmao

  • <3

  • Nice!

Listen to the song "The Only One For Me" from the UNC Clefhangers, this is another great A Capella Group.

  • Such perfect harmony and pitch!

  • I didn't know Tracy Morgan was in SNC

  • Partridge in a big pare tree! xd

  • @alika207 it's pear not pare

  • I wish my school did cool stuff like this.

  • @razorboar Start your own at your school! :D This is why and how Dan Ponce started Straight No Chaser at Indiana University; they did not have an a cappella group until Dan came along. (Oh, they also started it to 'sing to girls') :D Anything is possible if you want it bad enough and have the right skills to get it done. Good luck!

  • Guys acapella is just sickk in general. :D

  • @swimswamswum101 as Peanut would say "You Suckk!!"

  • how many SNC groups are there?

  • @march2994 there is only 1 SNC but the originals graduated in 1999's only 4 or 5 stayed but its a school group now. More then 50 members have gone through.

  • @march2994 What you're seeing here is 8 of 10 original members of the founding group started in the '90's.Original members graduated and went their ways. Straight No Chaser continued at Indiana University. After being discovered by Atlantic and all of the 'legalities' were worked out "this" is Straight No Chaser; the university group goes by the title IU-SNC. Many have gone through IU-SNC (four of which made their way to Atlantic's SNC--and we love them all! Former and present!)

  • @march2994 The original SNC had a recording deal and now there's a new SNC almost every year at IC, and they preform under the same name

  • I LOVE THEM!!!!

  • i love3 this song in generakl and they did very well on the harmoniews

  • Lovin how at the "Christmas down in Africa" part, the camera zooms in on the black guyy (;

  • @SamanthaRaex3 cus that was orginally his solo

  • these guys will most definetly be hired for my birthday lmfao

  • @Reznov65 You mean to sing, or......?

  • Doesn't one of the baritones usually sing the melody on this? I'm guessing that's a tenor and it looks way too low for him.

  • @hoivenglaven he's a baritone

  • Awesome!!!

  • Straight No Chaser is a Thelonious Monk tune. what a great name for a group!

  • @lillbern That's exactly where they got their inspiration. :D

  • This SNC got alot more into it than the other version of Africa on here... That might just be the vid quality tho. Still, awesome performance. These guys rock!

  • 2 people missed the like button =(

  • @2tomp1 oops now 4, i should be more careful next time. Just kidding i meant to hit it.

  • @oopy111 u have no taste in music at all if you hit the dislike button.

  • This is awesome! :) Except that they're a teeny bit fast, but most acapella versions on youtube seem to be too fast, except Perpetuum Jazzile.

  • this group of guys are extremely amazing to watch live! i watched the live performance in seattle washington last november and it was heart stopping. best group of male singers.!

  • Oh and btw: I miss Michael and Steve

  • They are incredible! It's absolutely amazing how well their voices sound together. Would love to see them live but unfortunely I won't be coming to America any time soon.

  • its perfect.

  • awesome :P

  • I admit that they sound great, but I still like the original better.

  • Their voices are so incredible together. I would listen to this over the original any day (not that I have a problem with the original, but this version is absolutely amazing)

  • Is this in Kansas City?

  • i could listen to his voice all day.. no joke.. i have!=D

  • i love his voice.

  • ÜBERRAGEND!!!!

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come to Dallas!! Texas loves you!! :)

  • They are absolutely amazing! I would love to have a chance to go to a concert and hear them sing. I love them, they are the best!

  • I'm from Belleville ON and I just saw these guys in concert and they're amazing!! We got lucky that they stopped in such a small city because they had just come from toronto were on their way to Montreal!

  • My best friend got me sooo addicted to Africa! When we were at the SNC concert, he was singing and I was laughing, then I was like wow, this song is AMAZING! :) as well as the group! <3

  • I go to IU and I got to see these guys in concert (they came back and did a concert for us last fall). It was one of the highlights of the fall season!

  • SNC's new CD, "Six Pack" is now available through the SNC website!

  • God I feel old because I am 29 and remember these guys in college...anyone remember "dry campus"???

  • yeah dude! those were the days!

  • yes! I LOVE that song

  • I do remember dry campus. that is hilarious. I'm 30, so I guess that was just the time when that hit. funny.

  • this is the original group.

  • this is the original group that started at IU over 10 years ago...someone posted their "12 Days of Confused Christmas" from back then...it got a ton of views and the guy from Atlantic Records...they are the same people

  • What amazes me is that at 2:59, an a Capella group creates an a Capella moment... they bass and back beat cuts out and it sounds like the music suddenly becomes a Capella even though it already is and has been the whole time... brilliant. This group is incredible, and whoever arranges the music is just as good.

  • haha aww poor guy..but at least it didn't sound too terrible

  • 1:45 the guy with the argyle sweater messes up

  • But it's a testament to the greatness of the group that he didn't let it affect the performance and continued to do amazing.

  • ha ther so good i didnt notice or i have bad ears i hope its not the latter

  • I really enjoy listening to these guys, fantastic. I'm going to buy my wife the DVD's/ CD's for her birthday.

  • i loved it!

  • i think the new group does it better as far as there youtube clips

  • The new group has more clips because this group is under contract with Atlantic Records and can't put out any clips according to their contract.

  • Hate to break it you you, but that is the new group! Tall guy, guy in the argyle sweater, african american guy.... all in the "new" group.

  • This is at Atlantic Records.

  • By "new" you meant "old" right?

  • By new I mean this is the group that has the record deal.

  • ummm...wrong...i went to college from 1998-2002 and remember the original group. plus 18-22 year olds wouldn't look like they are in their 30s (going bald, some a little bigger now..) get with it man!!

  • I put quotes around "newer" because it was NOT the younger guys that got a recording contract, it was the "older" group, the original members. They sang for a reuinon concert and put it on youtube. All these guys graduated right around 1999.

  • they're great..I saw them live in indiana at a leadership conference

  • These guys are incredible!

  • man i love straight no chaser!!its like they have perfect pitch!! lol! i think this is thier best song!

  • Jerome does falsetto, just not in this song. Both Jerome and Steve are amazing singers, check out their version of "12 Days of Christmas". Too bad we cannot see their "Lion Sleeps Tonight" anymore.

  • I miss being able to hear that! It was SO GREAT!

  • i miss that too!

  • by black guy, you mean jerome collins??? he doesn't get the high pitch. the really tall blonde guy (steve morgan) does the falsetto. no wonder he's on broadway, he's friggin' amazing.

  • they are both on broadway, Jerome was Simba in LIon King in Hong Kong

  • Clef Hangers ain't got nothing on Straight No Chaser. These guys own.

  • true that.

  • the black guy touches the high pitch perfectly! he rules!!! and great rendition 5*****

  • As an objective third party, I can't find a version on YouTube that's better than these dude's version of Africa - but I'm just judging it by the music. The Clef Hangers version do that that cool boom-boom-chucka-boom thing going that feels real African.

    Sorry lance, just my opinion!

  • i totally 100 percent agree with micshitz

  • The UNC thing is cool but this one is more musically tight

  • this one totally sounds like Africa, if you listen to Africa by Toto, it sounds just like this.

  • this is probably my favorite a capella group in the world!!!!!!

    YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome. Love hearing the harmonies with these guys.

  • that was so awsome, u guys r da best

  • amazing performance!! the harmony is magnificant

  • weird 4:00 three guys took a drink at the same time
