hey question? i just got like 25 yellow lab from this guy and a few of them have mouth full of frys and already took one of them out and got like 40 of them out of her but other one i try and the mouth is still full of egg sack and its not ready yet ,when do i know its time?
No you don't, in fact you shouldn't take them out unless you want to stress the fish. I wouldn't be surprised if the mother didn't die soon after this video....
Best way is to leave nature to take its course. Put lots of little piles of (small) rocks in so the babies can hide away from the adult fish.
Your completely right. I think the stripping process is extremely stressful. Just catching an Mbuna in a tank is hard enough. I just put a pile of rocks with small crevices so that way they can hide. and i make sure there is pelnty of algae so they can eat too.
Thats ridiculous i have stripped fry from pleny of fish and have never harmed one! If anything it is beneficial to the mother who can now eat again after weeks of carrying babies around
Females are designed to be able to go without food for weeks, that's what nature intended. Don't underestimate the effect that severe trauma can have on fish - that includes keeping the fish out of the water for a prolonged period (by prolonged I'm talking more than 5 - 10 seconds). It's a known fact that stress worsens the fish's immune system too. It's unecessary - if you want to breed fish seriously then split the pair off into a breeding tank and remove the male after mating.
By the way, I recently had a batch of 60 Hongi fry using the method I mentioned. I was away over Christmas for 4 days and returned to find fry hidden in the plant roots. The female had not eaten them, and around 50 of the fry made it through and are now rehomed.
É, mas prefiro fazer isso e doar os filhotes aos meus amigos que também criam CA´s do que deixá-los a própria sorte dentro do aquário, onde certamente serviriam de almoço para os outros peixes do aquário.

100 mistakes you made there
1. u cant be that rough with her, u must try to tire her before catching her.
2. dont have any rings, u can damage her skin
3.dont catch her EVER again like that when u have fry even if not u cant catch her like that
4
Are u really that stupid to use that tool? dont u know that chiclids have teeths? use plastic or wood small stick.

The mother wil let them out at a certain age. the reason why you would seperate them is because other fish might eat them/

Isso só é justificável se vc é um criador. Eu não teria coragem de fazer isso com meus peixes. Boas vendas.
