Mine had the fan replaced 2 times, then after 8 months of owning the laptop, the screen cracked. What a low quality laptop it is... Still I don't say VAIOs are that bad, After having so much issues with the CS model, I bought the CW model, which I have to tell, It is just a wonderful model... I strongly recommend the CW model, Cheaper than the CS and yet more powerful.

I have a vgn-cs110D I bought it months ago. after 1 month the fan started to make such a noise!. I took it to Sony service, it took 3 weeks that they fixed it!. After 2 months the sound started again. I called them. they said " Don't worry! it is so nice of us that we give you 1 year extended warranty for this problem for this series! take it to service center again! They will fix it" and i asked if the problem happens again? they said " you have to pay probably!!" this product is rubbish!
Yes indeed CS had a failure for the factory-out for the fan. If this happen for the 2nd time that is surely due to the user by its own. I am using a FW series for entertain but most of the time I've been using my CS-32G.. Almost all the work done made assisted with my CS.. Its really do satisfied me.. This is just my perception, most important is you are satisfied with it.. and never ever jeopardise youself when you can get something satify you better than what you had.
i own the cs16g best lap tp iv ever had. i use it for my electrical business , after replacing the fan i recommend it to anyone quality laptop for sure.

I know men like to think women are interested in nothing but prettiness when they buy things, but more and more women do want to hear things like "what can be expanded in this model and how far can it be expanded compared to other laptops. They also want to know how easy it is for an individual user to expand it."
More women are learning to do their own thing because techs are just too expensive.

i had the same problem. the cs series is a great model but it came with a factory fault which is the fan , if you have your reciept sony should replace the fan for free. mine is perfect now
no you call up sony, and they will tell you which computer stores do warrenty repairs for them, once you get that places number call them and tell them the issue

I had like 15 laptops through out my career (HP, Dell, Fujitsu, sony...etc) .I got Sony NS, it is a good one, very responsive and overall I feel comfy using it given that I am working on the technical side (SQL Server, VS, Adobe...etc) it was performing well. Then I got the CS I am really impressed....superior performance, I didnt even hear the fan for one time, the only bad thing is the battery 1,5 hrs max. let alone the sexy appearence...I really love it!!

i think cs36 is a decent laptop for tight budget... im planning to get a black one, its powered by intel c2d p8700 2.53 ghz fsb 1066... and for hardcore gamers, i recommend asus g50 but its kinda expensive...
this laptop is damn too heavy for its size. It was almost as heavy as other 15.4 sony laptops and looks very very bulky with thickness up to about 1.5 inches.

I have this laptop in maroon, great laptop, great design and specially that bottom colourful led awesome, other laptops look like crap in front of this.
i have a laptop from sony and the battery life does suck, but so does every other laptop battery, as long as you have it on the charger its amazing lol. The best i can get out of my battery life is about 1 and half to 2 and half hours, depending on what i'm doing. If you're planning on watching something than it will probably last you 2 hours, if its fully charged. Good luck. P.s. Who cares about battery life when it looks so pretty lolol. Just keep an extra battery if you're traveling.
Pmall, doesn't have any warranties. Also i've heard they are a b* to deal with if you start having "problems" with your stuff and want to exchange/return or even get it fixed. This laptop is great. I think a lot of people need to read the instructions when it comes to the battery life. When you first get the laptop leave it hooked up almost the entire time and diffidently charge it when your not using it. This will give you the initial battery life that Sony advertises. I would not recommend this laptop for gaming. (although I really wouldn't recommend any for gaming stick to desktop). There are lots of new nifty features (a.k.a) s.d. card slot great for photographers
It would probably play wow but I wouldn't recommend because the specs check out but I still would recommend getting a desktop to play wow especially since you would have to play online which is a lot for any laptop battery!
No I really don't think so I think it would probably lag because I'm not sure how good the graphics card is in this laptop, and if you use a wireless connection and the battery might run out quick. Also a lot of laptops have problems running games even gaming laptops struggle sometimes (personal experience with that). So no I'd check more comp. out!

i think its only 2.5 if u use it on the power save mode and not use alot of things at once, cos when i use it i run quite a few apps at once, itunes, msn, internet etc.. and battery seems to go very fast even on power save mode, i'd say it lasts for around 1 - 1.5 hrs
I have the red one. It's really durable, which is good for a clutz like me. Also, the color's awesome. I've had it for a while, and it broke a few days ago :( I have to go get a new laptop today.

It "does" have an ATI graphics card, but it will out perform that one pretty good.
Though get what you feel is right for you. :)

I really want this laptop, but I heard that its battery life sucks .. that you could get at most 2 hours out of a full charge =/ is this true?

i have a laptop from sony and the battery life does suck, but so does every other laptop battery, as long as you have it on the charger its amazing lol. The best i can get out of my battery life is about 1 and half to 2 and half hours, depending on what i'm doing. If you're planning on watching something than it will probably last you 2 hours, if its fully charged. Good luck. P.s. Who cares about battery life when it looks so pretty lolol. Just keep an extra battery if you're traveling.

Pmall, doesn't have any warranties. Also i've heard they are a b* to deal with if you start having "problems" with your stuff and want to exchange/return or even get it fixed. Also, its pmall for christs sake LMFAO, come on everyone knows not to buy stuff that you actually want to use on a daily basis from there. Only purchase cell phones and cute stuff oh and anime from there lmfao. Btw i doubt it would be any cheaper, especailly if its new.

Honestly its an amazing place to go checkout, and buy asianish stuff, if you're into that sort of stuff like i am Lmao. However they aren't to big on bargains, if you really want a good deal go with someone chinese; otherwise, they'll probably jack up the price a bit, because you're not asian. Lol its happened to my friends and I. Gosh, they can be assholes at times, but sometimes they charge you a fairly good price for stuff.

This laptop is great. I think a lot of people need to read the instructions when it comes to the battery life. When you first get the laptop leave it hooked up almost the entire time and diffidently charge it when your not using it. This will give you the initial battery life that Sony advertises. I would not recommend this laptop for gaming. (although I really wouldn't recommend any for gaming stick to desktop). There are lots of new nifty features (a.k.a) s.d. card slot great for photographers

It would probably play wow but I wouldn't recommend because the specs check out but I still would recommend getting a desktop to play wow especially since you would have to play online which is a lot for any laptop battery!

No I really don't think so I think it would probably lag because I'm not sure how good the graphics card is in this laptop, and if you use a wireless connection and the battery might run out quick. Also a lot of laptops have problems running games even gaming laptops struggle sometimes (personal experience with that). So no I'd check more comp. out!

apparently the Vaio CS model suffers from this problem because of a poorly built fan that Sony never cared to fix.

I actually haven't noticed it at all...
the only thing messed up is the speakers. You need to put the volume around 75 to hear something. But if you put in earphones than it's fine.

2.5 hrs isnt bad. compared to a gaming laptop with is just 1 hr battery life.

i think its only 2.5 if u use it on the power save mode and not use alot of things at once, cos when i use it i run quite a few apps at once, itunes, msn, internet etc.. and battery seems to go very fast even on power save mode, i'd say it lasts for around 1 - 1.5 hrs
