  • Love this track on Forza

  • This track needs some sprucing up, then it would be legit PERFECT for F1. Heck, NASCAR needs a couple more road courses, would be good for them too. But noooo, we get a piece of crap Tilkedrome. Half of the people that commented on this video could probably make better tracks than that fool.

  • F1 wouldn't race here as its to dangerous for the sissies, needs more chicanes.... Superb track, brilliant design.

  • Fantastic track, looks a great drive.

  • i find this as the american version of silverstone - 2 outstanding circuits

  • fuking dope ass track

  • shut up....i wanna listen this beautiful V-8 turbo engine sound....

  • I'm not really into asphalt racing as much I am into boat racing. (I race outboard hydroplanes.) My dad used to run Formula Fords at Road America. He seemed like this track and I can see why. This looks like fun.

  • where is turn 2 for god sake...

  • @spooky78

It's that two or three degree slight kink after the first turn. Stupid to name it a corner, really.

  • AMAZING circuit!

How I would like to see Formula-1 here, flying through those high speed corners, and the Carousel!

If F1 should go back to America this would be the ideal place, where the cars really can shows their cornering potential... I dont know about the safety at this circuit but that is a thing that might put an end to the dream of seeing F1 here!?

  • luke will is a moron. many f1 drivers claim this as their favorite track even if they didnt drive on it in F1. Montoya, Villenuve to name a few. Ask the IMSA guys too tey would agree as well. This is the best track in the world.

  • @mickydeeznutsfull if not, it's a close second to Mid Ohio

  • wow its narrow, you could never pass here

  • @Villeneuve27 Theres actually quite a few good overtaking areas at RA

  • very good circuit

  • My last Champ Car race, my last visit to RA.

  • people say this track shuld host a formula one race......WTF. it a shithole compared to current formula one circuits

  • @lukewill783 It's not quite a shithole as you say. It's a great track.

  • @PeterMayer im not saying its a shithole, but it looks like one compared to current formula one curcuits

  • @lukewill783 Well, you DID say that. Would you call any track in your country like Brands, Donnington, a shithole? And unless you've been there, which I have, you cannot make such a generalization.

  • @PeterMayer well, i wouldnt call brands or donington a shithole, the tracks are a very highstandard and the facilitys are alot better than the circuits that i have raced on in america. i have been to almost every track in britan and 1/3 of western european circuits, along with serveral american circuit. european circuits are by far the best in the world.

  • @lukewill783 I know that. And I'm not comparing our tracks to the European tracks. Just don't judge a track unless you have been to it. RA is a great track. 4 miles, goes off in the forest.

  • @lukewill783 Current F1 circuits are terrible! So flat and sterile...

  • @Topkartracer Do have to admit. they are getting worse now, korea shit, jaypee circuit shit, the new austin circuit, which i havent seen much detail other than general layout doesnt look very appealing as it is a street circuit with corners designed to be the same as corners from other f1 circuits eg. silverstone's maggots and becketts complex and istanbuls turn 8. All circuit of designed by hirman tilke are getting worse. he is also designing a new russian f1 circuit *sigh*

  • @lukewill783 Ugh I know, they're so boring. I'm just glad we still have Spa and Monza. For the modern tracks Istanbul isn't bad, but I wish Bernie wasn't so money hungry and would go to some of the better European tracks. They have so much more character and charm. I like Australia too, but maybe thats because tilke didn't design it haha

  • @Topkartracer Tilke is slowley killing f1 now, it wasnt so bad when we only had tracks like shanghi, sepang and istanbul. but now 0_o he ruined the second to last corner of catalunya, the yas marina is, ok i guess, the korean international circuit is just. well. bad and have you seen the jaypee circuit, holy crap thats bad. bernie ecclstone is also partley to blame for giving him the job a designing the circuits. Have you heard about his idea for artificial rain! that would kill F1

  • @lukewill783 Whats the jaypee circuit? Bernie has some crazy ideas haha, artifical rain is the last thing we need.

  • @Topkartracer The jaypee circuit is the current mess tilke has designed, its under construction now and it will host the indian gp this october i think. He is designing a new circuit in russia to host a 2014 russian grand prix. he might also be designing a circuit in croatia for a gp in 2016. *sigh* the fact that all his circuit designs are carbon copy's of each other and his designs consists of long straights which wont help to new 1.6 litre engines being introduced in 2013. god help us

  • @lukewill783 And despite the existence of some great road courses in the US, they (F1 managers) want to build another 'Tilkodrome', this time, in Texas...

    Hello? F1? Anybody there?

  • @ATDOINFERNO I REALLY DISLIKE THE NEW CIRCUIT IN TEXAS, i dont really see why they would build a new circuit rather than giving the money to a current circuit. i would really like to see f1 return to watkins glen because i really like that circuit. But still, hopfully the circuit isnt to bad, it has a lot of inclination which it traditional for american circuits and it has taken the design of maggets & becketts which is an awsome corner, the problem. its on a street circuit -_-

  • @lukewill783 Watkins Glen, Mid-Ohio, Road America, Laguna Seca...all great facilities, but nooooo....F1 wants a brand new 'Tilkodrome'...

  • @lukewill783 are you retarded??! road america looks waay better than most current formula 1 circuits. i guess your not used to seeing trees and grass around the track huh? compared with painted "grass" and either a beach worth of sand runoff or a parking lot worth of asphalt at every turn of every F1 track, except monaco.

  • @chipattack911 are you fucking real, spa, catalunya, hockenheim, hungaroring, monza, suzuka etc all in areas with a lot of trees. road america looks like a peice of shit go kart track compared to every track used in formula one. ive been to 12 of the current f1 circuits and also to road america. id rather get aids than race at road america again. the facilitys are pure shit that looks like it had been built by ape's. america is no where near to the standards of europian and asian racing...

  • @lukewill783 i know those listed have trees, i'm talking about the most of them. you really are a dumb shit aren't you? road america is a REAL track, not some mile wide highway where if you run off your still on the track thanks to everything being paved within a 10 mile radius.

  • @chipattack911 some mile wide high way, erm, its called a run off area. something cheap ass tracks like road america cant afford. similair to gravel traps which road doesnt have. just face it. road america will never live up to the standard, quility and pure driving quality as formula one circuits. nice one dump shit

  • @lukewill783 no its because they look like crap!! you can barely tell where the hell the track is, everythings paved. its takes the character out of the track.

  • @chipattack911 i agree, they look crap, but the fia demand that run of areas are like that because of saftey. plus the arabs and china men like it that way. but tracks like spa and the nurburgring have so much character and history. its just a joy to be driving on them and knowing that people such as jackie stewerd, sterling moss and ayrton senna have raced there. RA is way of the standard of f1 circuits but i could compare it to tracks such as brno and cadwell park.

  • @chipattack911 Man, save you're breath. This euro-centric, F1 fanboy is not worth the energy.

  • @truebluelabor hahaha yea

  • Road America is the best, we got ron fellows back for road course expert.

  • Fuck Austin... Formula 1 should race here. This track looks like an american Spa Francorchamps!

  • I'm calling it now.... Carl Edwards will win the Nationwide Race RA this weekend.

  • F1 have wasted many seasons on Indy, with 1/4 oval and a dull Mickey-mouse infield section!

THIS track however...it has elements that reminds me of Silverstone and Spa mixed together!

If safety can be held at an acceptable level, I don’t think any track in the US could be more perfect for F1 in terms of entertainment.

  • Note to F1: Come here NOW! But Bernie would hate it, because he doesn't appreciate racing excellence.

  • i live in Elkhart Lakee

  • Road America, Road racing at its finest!

  • nice commentary, best track in America :-)

  • Driven this track in the Simulation iRacing, its incredible fun and exciting track

  • I live 1 mile from this track lol

  • NASCAR is racing here in the summer :)

  • First of all; get the "Race on" game from SimBin and race here - this is truly a great place to race! As an avid F1 fan, the track could not be better but safty can be an issue, but its the enormous circus around F1 that makes racing here dobtful. Look at the new venues for F1 around the world and it just blows your mind away with the enourmous investments on the surrounding areas, just look at the Ferrari exibition at Abudabi GP, but I sure wish F1 wold race here some day.

  • You need to race this track in iRacing, the iRacing Road America version is laser scanned and accurate to the cm

  • I mean guys,K.Legge is alive due to a great improvement in car chassis strenght so i don't think RA it's unsafe for F1, take a look at Montreal, Valencia Street or Singapore, Monaco too are faraway dangerous than RA.

TIlke it's not a bad designer from scratch, but a raper of old tracks by my point of view.

Anyway Ecclestone is planning the US GP in lower Manhattan,( O__O ) RA is safe.

  • f1 should stay the fuck away from road america.

  • Formula 1 shoud go back to the US there!

  • Better not... imo.

I wish too, i like RA, but for safety issues, Bernie, Fia and Tilke. will harm the actual layout.

You can bet on it. :@

  • Yes, Tilke fuck up everything =(

  • Indy is the only great track that qualified for the USGP but the course itself sucked.

  • one of the best road courses in the world...

  • @franneck1989 best in america

  • He is not shifting. What gives?

  • They swapped to paddle shifters in 07 from the sequential sticks that they were using before.

  • I thought he was driving the Lola. I didn't realize he was driving the Panoz.

  • I'm actually not sure which he is driving, I assumed they both made the swap, am I mistaken?

  • On second thought, didn't they change the chassis in 07 and go strictly Panoz? I'm an F1 fan, only fallowed champ car loosely.

  • Yeah they changed the chassis in 07 right before unification. Superleague Formula uses a similar panoz chassis, but the chassis used in that series has a V12 and more aero elements.

  • Sure did my man. They switched straight from the lola to the Panoz, and it raced all of '07 and one race in '08. The chassis was completely different but I'm pretty sure the Panoz used the same turbo Cosworth the Lola used. Truly awesome car, I've seen it race at San Jose, and its last race at Long Beach. Such a shame that it didnt race for long...

  • wow. paddle shifter you noob. Its behind the wheel. This aint your moms miata son.

  • Settle down dork, I'll embarass you on any track. Read the comments below loser, I'm hardly a noob. Fag.

  • Real drivers don't talk shit. They let their driving do the talking.

  • its called paddle shifters.....and listen to the engine!!

  • bernie only likes tracks that has money on them

  • This is track, outside of it being widened awhile back, is one of the few not to be altered in anyway. It is essentially the same as it has been since 1955. RA is truely an awesome place to see proper road racing.

  • F1 has gotta come here! but bernie has shown that the can't be bothered with the classic tracks of the world. At the least, please, IRL, come here!

  • Given what F1 has done to most of the classic tracks (see comment by "deggis4" below) I'm afraid if they came to RA they'd throw in a few chicanes and just totally screw it up. Besides, nobody's got a few billion to line Bernie's pockets for the "priviledge" of having an F1 race.

  • F1 needs to come to Road America!!! screw CART

  • well i wouldnt say screw CART, that was a great series...but yes F1 should definitely come here

  • this track is amazing! i got to see every best crash ive seen at this track, turn 5 its a nuts climb to the hill. its a track that should be drivin by any and every racer.

  • 4.048 Miles and 14 turns of TRUE racing!!! I have been going to Road America since I have been 4. Hope the indy cars comeback in 2010

  • Lol, andriuska, RA is one of the most 'European' track in USA. I love it.

FYI, i live near Monza, i'm not from USA.

  • I drove RA a month ago with my dad, its cool to watch vids like these and see just how fast they can get going, I was going 145 in the straight away, its insane what the f1 cars can do.

  • andriusssska... you must be kiding. Road America is a hell of a race track.

  • The irony is that best tracks in are in the US currently. In Europe tracks are becoming huge carparks with wide tarmac run-off areas, á la most F1 venues. Safety and all but limit has been crossed long time ago imho.

Mid-Ohio, Mosport (ok its in Canada), Sebring, Road Atlanta and Road America. They're just "proper" tracks.

  • I'm gonna agree. The US greats are the ones u mentioned, Laguna Seca, Infineon and Watkins Glen. Even smaller ones like Lime Rock, VIR and Portland are pretty great too. The only F1 tracks I can totally honestly say are superb are Spa, Monza, Silverstone and Le Mans. The rest are a little too Mr. Clean, if u know what i mean.

  • ONe just need see what they have done to Hockenheim to illustrait your point.

  • definately

  • Definately one of my favorite tracks. I really love Watkins Glen, Sonoma, Mid-Ohio, St.Pete, Belle Isle (Detroit) , Montreal and Road America. And I'll tell ya guys that this "Merge" with IRL has gone to really bad actually. IRL runs like 5 races in a season in RC.... :((((( ChampCar come back!

  • best track ccws goes to

  • I love RA. Went back August 2007 for the first in 10-12 years. They have made many many improvements.
