  • reminds me of the happiest days I remember, living in a bungalow two blocks from Charlie Russell's house. We were poor and had just had our first baby. Beautiful country.

  • Beautiful scenery like where I live in the south of NZ. Wish I could get an old wagon like that for my garden

  • what several of you fail to realize is that artists of this caliber are no longer "grown" regardless of who it is ken curtis, bob nolan or any of the many members of the SOP. now days its flash some thigh, or cleavage mouth some lyrics you did not write, nor necessarily believe. and you are a "star" phhhhfft simple drugs for the simple masses.

  • @mackthefatcat Sadly, we are an anachronism...throwbacks from another time. Music with melody as opposed to a beat and singers with vocal talent, clarity and respect for their art. I hear very little these days that make any sort of an impression on me...and that is not to say that I don't hear anything good at all....but it is a rare occurrence.

  • @GeneRoberts1961

Truer words sorry I was in my cups a few months ago when I came across this and a few other gems and typed the earlier reply. honestly, I'm "young" and yet its sometimes depressing to think about where the youth of our great nation has gone to at times. hopefully this "wallstreet rally" is the rebirth of our nation as far as citizens caring about what happens.

  • @mackthefatcat I understand. At 50, I find myself hiding from optimism regularly...but it is certainly not part of my genetic makeup. I don't like feeling jaded nor do I want to think the worst of others...and I go back to songs such as these to reflect and to remember of the hope I once harbored...not just for me and my family, but for all.

  • Ken Curtis is way better than Bob Nolan!!!!

  • @minnrenegade I disagree...Ken Curtis is was Ken Curtis, Bob Nolan was Bob Nolan. Personally, I like them both for their individual sound.

  • Ken Curtis is way beter than Bob Nolan!!!!

  • I don't believe it! That sounds exactly like Bob Nolan!! How do you know it's not?

  • Great!!!

  • Check out Ritchie Nevada - "Someday"

  • I love Montana. :-))

  • Lloyd Tommy Doss has a much finer voice than Bob Nolan. Not to say Bob was not good, just that Tommy is probably a more accomplished artist.

  • Their voices are very similar but let's not forget, that Bob Nolan is considered the greatest western/cowboy song writer of all time.

  • this is my fave SOP song. Great Falls was my first home, 29 years later I moved back and had my first baby there. We lived 2 blocks around the corner from Charlie Russel's house. Still miss Montana.

  • Beautiful video...Beautiful voice of Bob Nolan.....thanks for posting.

  • Sorry, but this is not Bob Nolan. This is the fantastic voice of his replacement in the group, TOMMY DOSS.

  • Oh well...can't win em all...Bob Nolan had a beautiful voice anyhow.

  • Wow, I never realized just how much alike their voices were.

  • Thanks...It's great to know there are still young people who appeciate good Western Music........
