  • verryy verry good written song, but if you play piano, you would know that the actress isnt acually playing the song, but just banging on the piano, this kind of ruined the ending for me

  • excellent!!! j'ai adoré ce film

  • Still as amazing as the first time watching it! The frustration, the madness and the passion.

Nobody ever really made a fair impact on history by "following the rules".

    Take a Chance - You Win - You're a Hero!

Take a Chance - You Lose - Shit, at least you tried...

  • shes destroying the piano :O

  • Merci! Qui; de voir; maitenant presque 4 minutes- merci!

  • excelente¡¡

  • I've seen the film.. and this scene... Oh my God!!! I was left with my mouth open!

This is it! Piano is the epitome of sublimeness of music...

Poor me...to think that only electric guitars can rock... Piano can be a heavy metal instrument... AWESOME!!!

  • @Raven1849 are you gonna do this to your piano? come on..

  • @marcelomjg No, I won't... Because I don't have one... I don't know how to play the piano but that won't stop me from being in love with it! It's one of my dreams to learn at least the basics and buy a piano (a digital one...) Anyway, I wouldn't do this to any piano... It takes guts!

  • super talent...

  • Bellisimo

ENORME !!

  • One of the best film scenes I've ever seen! As somebody's written - the applause is missing.

    Nevertheless - mesmerizing!

  • who has got the music sheets?

  • @regenbogenkindable ...So... Piano, drums or harp?

  • @Lopperopoly ...uum.. :D piano, drums AND harp, please ;) this composition is incredibly brilliant..

  • Wünderbar....great...film meraviglioso.

  • o=i

    From Azerbaijan - Babek

,...... wow

  • @MattGuerry In some parts of the film they used Schimmel piano. Surely here is the same.

  • unglaubliches rhythmusgefühl!!

    wahnsinn...

  • thats a great improvisation

but unfortunantly cannot be played just by one person....

just check 0:58 and then check 1:06...

she plays the same thing as 058 with only one hand which as far as i hear is impossible...

and there are other examples too

but its a very powerful song!

  • @brizolakias faag

  • The actress performance is amazing. oO

If I ever see a girl playing piano like her, I'll instantaneously fall in love.

  • You've just gotta love that "Negro music"! (lol)

  • P.S. What a wonderful film! And Gertrud 'Traude' Krüger looked so cute in Jenny von Loeben's gnarly motorcyle leathers.

  • This is unbelievable genius!!! I adore the music!!! Gratulations to the composer Annette Focks!!!

  • this is just EPIC!!

  • Un film à voir : OUI +1

  • oh... my... f***ig... gawd ... D:

  • does someone knows who wrote it? :)

  • come and watch my video of the same scen, longer and better quality! NO SPAM! true, waht my channel!

  • i almost cry when she takes the bow -.- Loving this film <3

  • Who is she?

    manchmal kriegen genies ihren applaus.

  • i love it...i love her...<3

Is there anybody who can show the complete final szene? The reaction of the public is impressing. Jenny bows for the old lady although she refused this before.

  • I love Schumann....

  • i watched this today in my film class. AMAZING!!!

  • @Flowerchild310

more than this...full of anger...and despair...

  • why not include the applause?

  • I love the movie and have the DVD. Just wondering if the filmmusic is also available on CD (good quality).

    Appreciate your help.

  • If anyone of you have the scores, please send them to me!! or if you know how to play the entire song, I'll be grateful if you put a tutorial :)

  • Amazing...however she starts with the Schumann piano concerto in A m

  • Love the movie, and love the ending :D

  • This is for ckrugberg - The topic of the movie is not about the war. The topic is ones inability to like oneself due to things done to them or as a result of their own choices. It is appropriate for the age of the piano teacher that she regrets a war experience and that it affects her all her life. So, in the real sense of the movie, there is no reason for your mature remark of "get over it".

  • Thanks for this lovely explanation and review of the film. I haven't had a chance to view it. I will look for it, it looks phenomenal...! Topic sounds great too... self-love and self-hatred is what shapes our entire life and who we are... Take care.

Einfach genial!!!

  • This clip needs another 30 seconds to hear the standing ovation the audience gives her. PS: don't you love the light hearted topics the Germans choose for their movies - The War - get over it ! Otherwise, a great movie.

  • is it actually her - like the actress playing???? im assuming, no?

  • It's convincing but I doubt it, I watched it last night and when she plays her "Negro Song" it doesn't look like she can actually play it at all; then again can't know for sure - She puts alot of emotion into it though :D

  • @mickeymouse1006 nope, there are some parts you can't play and knock at the piano at the same time.

  • Schumann, Chopin...

    ..her unbelievable power of improvisation......

..love this amazing scene so much ...

  • Chopin???? did you recognize chopin ??? i've just discovered she started that piece with the concerto for piano from rachmaninov

  • @FabeleuxAmelie I played this scene over immediately, it was that powerful. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this film. I'm sending this clip to all my friends.

  • hannah herzprung is now my fav actress by a country mile her perfomance in"four minutes" totally knocked me off my feet.....outstanding film and very sad

  • ich könnte diesen film einfach immer wieder schauen=')

  • beautiful

  • Insanity.

  • WOW! I never have seen this before.

    What is this genre called?

    Can anyone tell me?

  • This was pretty much the ending of the movie when chick just went with passion and rage rather than what she was supposed to play. Veir Minuten = Four Minutes. All german with english subtitles. Definately worth the watch.

  • it's called Black Music n_n ....you must see "vier Minuten" (Four Minutes) It's a german film about an extaordinary and talented (but also a killer) woman... sorry for my horrible English ._.

  • Your english is more or less perfect.

You have nothing to worry about.

  • she's not a murderer.

  • Avant garde?

  • Thanks a lot for this part of movie

I Love it , she plays with the heart and rage !

  • Amazing'

  • Sehr sehr schoen!

  • Punk Rock Piano...In the 1800's there was a Harpsichordist who made a mistake during his performance. He demolished it before the audience. His patron urged him to do it again, because the audience was quite entertained. Nothing new under the sun, The Who weren't the first. Now she is the solo Das Wer!

  • @sanclementekid may i know who the harpsichordist was?

  • I do not remember. It was some time ago when I heard it on the radio. The announcer was discussing passion among composers in the classical era. The harpsichordist made a mistake during his performance and went postal and destroyed the instrument. His patron encouraged it, as the people were entertained by it. So, The Who did nothing new. Another story was a soprano was making a composer's aria sound bad during a practice session and the composer almost strangled her to death.

  • Ah ok thanks for replying : )

  • mon film préféré que j'ai découvert grâce à mon prof d'allemand

  • this movie is one of the strongest tragic, brutal and genius movies i watched in last two years.

those two actresses made wonderful jobs.

  • Agreed. I was absolutely blown away. I still think about this film at least once a week.

  • Whats the piece at 0:36 min? Is it composed for the film or is it a part of another piece?

  • that fusas make me cry...

(do u say "fusas" in english?

    i speak spanish xP)

  • i think.. that's the essence of music

  • upload the whole movie pls

  • The piece played here is a combination of multiple classic pieces from different authors

It is actually impossible to play it like she does in the movie as you can hear that she keeps playing a two hand rythmh with one hand, the other reaching the strings

But still, great demonstration of piano technique and beautiful masterpiece, congratz to people who can play this, i'm going back to study the music sheet ^^

  • i LOVE this scene

    magnique ...

    pianistiquement, j'adore ...

  • I watched this movie last Sunday.

  • amazing!!

  • Awesome music.

  • Komponistin Annette Focks und deren Interpretation von Schuberts Impromptus

  • Dos she really plays the piano.... great movie...

  • grax por subirloooooo

  • fregonsisimo

  • is just ... awesome, more than that ...

  • someone should find out how to download this high quality so that you can see and hear it really well, i love this song i think i was crying the whole time.

  • the best thing to do is to buy the dvd..so good film :)

its rare to feel so much émotion with this theme...its more that this perfect interprétation of piano..its speak about the passion of the artist ...its a kinda of good katharsis

  • It's the last scene from "Vier Minuten" (Four Minutes). Her name is Hannah Herzsprung, and she's an actress. The movie is OK, and the music is great.

  • somebody knows names or something to find out about music like this? :) tnks

  • Apparently its a piece written by John Cage.

  • am... Great girl!

  • I used to proudly improvise in the piano like this but when I saw the movie I felt like I had done nothing! haha

if I find a girl that can play like that, with such a strenght and innovation, I swear I marry her!

  • i love it! but i would love it more if it were of better cuality!!

  • Great video, great song!

  • love it so much, like the way how she is expressing her feelings, stg new and original, great...

  • I think this is called string piano playing, because she was fooling around with the strings. It's BEAUTIFUL.

  • The piano IS sort of a percussion instrument...

  • Piano is not SORT of percussion instruments... IT IS a percussion instrument

  • Hahaha. I said "sort of a percussion instrument" to avoid people like you, no offense. There is a lot of discussion (controversy is the wrong word here) over how the piano is both a string and percussion instrument. So i didn't want to take one side and people go "BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH" on me.

It's a percussion instrument because it strikes the strings, but at the same time, it's a string instrument because of the strings inside the piano. Funky, eh?

    No hard feelings. <3

  • I answer that... indeed is a string/percussion instrument... to make react people like you.

    ;) ;) ;)

and it works... no hard feelings either <3

    .

BTW... I am absolutely entranced by the playing of this theme really played by Kae Shirati. entitled Jennys Abschlusskonzert

  • @DaremoS

Damn you and your antics :p
