There was an Enterprise episode exactly like this, and it had Rene acting in it.

They couldn't even get original actors, let alone original stories!

I've seen the Enterprise episode you're talking about. Lack of original plots(i.e. reusing plots from older Trek shows) was one of the reasons Enterprise has such low ratings that it got canceled:(

Well, in season 4, Enterprise got as badass as DS9, and was canceled WAY too soon, i think.

I agree season 4 of enterprise is in my top 5 best seasons in star trek history for the simple fact every episode of the 22 was good to watch over and over. Most season have 1 maybe 2 episodes you don't enjoy but the season had every original episode. Or re fitting classic ideas like the section 31 and the mirror universe.
