I see it apparently didn't post. I did try to apologize for that though. Most of those statements towards the maker of the video where at first a presumption that you were the creator. @MENCADO ...... I just find it funny that you believe it's true of what you write but turn your back and say even of what you brought your text could even be wrong in itself. Using one specific word out of the bible and saying the bible is wrong.... Oy, it's not worth my time. You contradict yourself quite a bit. I may gve a belief in something, but I'm not about to turn around and tell you that your "religion or belief" is wrong or misinterpreted.
It seeming to you that I have contradicted myself is due - I suspect - to your having mistaken me as being the person who is in this video, despite the fact that she asserted things that are neither the same in content nor the same in meaning as what I asserted.
If you mistakenly believe she and I - who have stated different thing than each other - to be one and the same person, then that could be what has led you to (also mistakenly) believe us to be one person who asserted self-contradictory statements.
In future, if you wish to reply directly to me - rtaher than have me chance to find your reply, then I ask you to use the reply option included with my comment, because that will alert me to the fact of your having entered a reply to me - rather than you using the space allotted for response to this video, which sends an alert to the video makers mail - instead of sending it to mine.

The written words - entered under the video by MENCADO - are mine. Those spoken in the video are her words. Contradictions between those two groups of words do not indicate that I have contradicted my words - nor do they indicate that she has contradicted her words.
@MENCADO ..... It seems to me as though you may have mistaken me as being the person in this video, despite my having presented a different perspective on the matter than what is expressed within this video's content, and despite my not actually being that person in the video.
I hope that you will carefully re-read my comments, in order for you to - hopefully - come to recognize what different ideas than hers I instead expressed.
@MENCADO ......someone who is merely a beginner in scholarship to openly and proudly say basically that the bible is wrong when you yourself can't explain what's true or not besides your own words. If any translation of bible or book could be falsified and mistranslated then your text needs to be void in the case that the person who translated the text you are so willing to say is wrong could so possibly be wrong themselves. I am not trying to be rude or in the christian case hypocritical in a
Your comment, "It would be nice for all people to know one truth and no debates like this would happen but for someone who is merely a beginner in scholarship to openly and proudly say basically that the bible is wrong when you yourself can't explain what's true or not besides your own words." does not seem to me to be any complete sentence, because (as a whole), it appears to me to not constitute as being the expression of any complete idea.
You commented, "If any translation of bible or book could be falsified and mistranslated then your text needs to be void in the case that the person who translated the text you are so willing to say is wrong could so possibly be wrong themselves."
I have no idea of what you meant by that statement, but I do know that I have not said that any person who translated any text IS wrong.
What I stated about that is (in summary) that anyone who is alleged to (and may be believed to) have translated any text MAY HAVE mistranslated an amount of that text instead of translating it. What I stated is - therefore - not any claim that any alleged translation IS wrong, but is instead both an explicit assertion that any alleged translation MAY BE WRONG, and an implicit admission that the same alleged translation ALSO may instead be right.
@MENCADO To this is true... If you remember cprrecty, I never once said you were wrong. But for a person to willingly and openly title something "misinterpretations and miscommunications of the Bible" it's begging for someone to tell them they're wrong. If this is your opinion then let it be so, but I have my own opinion thats why we're all unique. It would be nice for all people to know one truth and no debates like this would happen but for someone who is merely a beginner in scholarship to o
You commented that, "...for someone to willingly and openly title something 'misinterpretations and miscommunications of the Bible' ..." (is) "...begging for someone to tell them they're wrong."
It seems to me that would instead be reasonable cause for the person who made that claim to be challenged to prove the claim as not being false, as it is not necessary to know any claim to be "wrong" in order to consider the claim as being a questionable claim.
If that is the case, then whatever you (for example) believe to be correct translation, correct interpretation, and/or correct representation of Biblical content may - nevertheless - NOT actually be any of those things.
It seems to me to be naive for anyone to presume that being so mistaken as to have such incorrect belief about that simply could not occur to him or her.
It seems possible to me that any person could - or even that multiple individuals (any individuals) all could - mistakenly believe any number of mistranslations, and/or of misinterpretations, and/or of misrepresentations of ANY spoken language and/or of any text to be neither mistranslation, nor misinterpretation, nor misrepresentation.
Naive but using your head. The bible assumes the reader understands the world around them in ways not explained in the bible. Homosexuality, therefore, is not covered but once, in the Law of Moses, which places a death sentence on those who do it with young men. However, nature is of God, so God made the sexual ganglia in the rectum PLUS the HIV etc consequences of poor hygiene. The bible becomes academic propoganda in retrospect, for the ears of the ignorant who need ceremony and ritual. JHC
Don't expect everyone to be the perfect Christian and hold their tongues. Because I am especially offended by you blaspheming my God. I never once will say your God doesn't exist. That was rude on your behalf.
Yes, you studied. You found one website that told you about someones beliefs on what Hebrew/Greek words should be translated.
Who are you to say those who interpreted the Greek/Hebrew language to English, and the Christian bible, they're wrong??
Oh, and if your so upset that people come up to you and talk about the Christian God, you should "watch what you're saying" (just quoting you) when you say crap about our God. Its the golden rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". D
You commented, "You found one website that told you about someones beliefs on what Hebrew/Greek words should be translated.
Who are you to say those who interpreted the Greek/Hebrew language to English, and the Christian bible, they're wrong??"
Who can say - without belief, but with 100% certainty of truth - whether any alleged translation (in any language, and of any text) by anyone is not a mistranslation?
I don't want to be rude, but how I'm taking it is that you believe that all those scholars that studied all their lives to translate Greek/Hebrew to English are wrong. That you, who seems merely getting to your thirties (sorry if I am wrong), is smarter than the scholars who translated it in the first place. How would you come about translating two or three Greek/Hebrew words and say they're wrong?
Yes, you studied. You found one website that told you about someones beliefs on what Hebrew/Greek

Even any one - or more - of those who is - or who are - believed to be the most expert of translators (even of Biblical translators) conceivably could err in translating, regardless of however long that person - or those people - had been studying translating.
Any person - or more - even any scholar(s) of ANY age could study any subject (for any length of time), could encounter what is misinformation and/or what is disinformation about that subject (and could even encounter - on multiple occasions, in a number of different sources - the same misinformation and/or the same disinformation about that subject) and could mistakenly presume that misinformation and/or disinformation to instead be information about that subject.
in acient greek, there is no word for homosexuality or heterosexuality. in their culture it was completely normal for a man to have sex with a man or a woman with a woman. there is no way the original Bible could contain these words.
I'm a christian, but I'm not so ignorant to not believe the original bible. It's only common sense. Believe what's original and not what has been translated which could have errors. I do wish i knew Greek or Hebrew. If I did, I wouldn't waste my time on the english version, but I would for the greek and hebrew.
Danashae, I never said I was christian or used any bible or koran etc by which to live my life, so yes, you are still a lonney toon., albiet a semi-educated one if youve an undergrad degree. By the way, imagaine how many people weve seen in the ER have gotton religion minutes before they die. Whether in the ER, of the Nam I have seen so many aetheists find God as they expire. You'll find God before you die, Dont feel bad though, Einstein was considered looney by his peers!
But then why, if you aren't Christian and don't follow any bible, would you preach to me about sinning and what the bible has to say? How can you not be Christian if you believe in sin?
Also, how is loving someone of the same sex akin to eating dirt or bark?
ALSO, did I SAY I didn't believe in a higher power? I said I didn't believe in the CHRISTIAN God. HE IS NOT THE ONLY HIGHER POWER BELIEVED IN AROUND THE WORLD.
Actually My God does in fact address you followers of the messenger and not the message, Judging is done by God, but calling a spade a spade is the free will and right given by God. Prove to me that Jesus in mine as you say. dont worry everyones God is watching.
@SkyFoxCode Ya gotta love fruity pebbles that talk tough in a forum that protects their right to be an idiot. Amazing you correct my grammer. Funny how none of my English grad school professors agree with you. The Troll you speak of must be your mother.
This chick is a loony toon....faithless will be judged, and homosexuals will be judged. Silly little kids It doesnt say dont eat bark or dirt in the bible but we know that its not healthy. Gays always seem to find a way to justify their sins. Admit your sins and repent, dont continue sinning. jeez!
I'm a loony toon? You use a poorly translated book written 2000 years ago to live your life and believe a man in the sky watches your every move. I used linguistics and cited my sources in this matter, like a sane person who went to college.
Also, I'm not gay. Also, I'm not Christian. Therefor, I don't need to "repent" because I don't "sin." It's like saying I worship the devil! I don't even believe in the devil, because I don't believe in the Christian god.
As a believer in God I can say that the word of God is true AS you have shown to us that in the original text God did not condemn gays, because why would God condemn those He created? We can't blame God for man's misinterpretation of scriptures in order to fulfill their quest to HATE! I do not worry because I know as it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end AND the truth shall set us free. In time to come we will all hear the truth!!! Thanks for the post.
so much has been mistranslated. these stories are older than even the hebrew they are written in. abomination was actually more accuratly translated as "not OUR custome. just go back to your touchy feely priests
I'm not Christian and I know that you are to "hate the sin, not the sinner."
I am not a "sinner" in the homosexual manner, regardless, as I am straight, but I have no need to justify myself to you. And reality check, you sin too. EVERY SIN IS EQUAL IN GOD'S EYES (according to your belief).
So keep your hypocritical pseudo-Christian bullshit off of my Youtube. My video is about fact and linguistics. How about you?
P.S. Where in the Bible does it say not to wish Good Luck to a sinner?
Try 2nd John 10 and 11: whoever wishes them godspeed takes part in their evil deeds. That cookie is still on the counter though. Yes we are to hate the sin, hate is a word in that you would wish the subject never existed. I hate no one besides satan. By the way you didn't have to tell me you weren't christian, your views scream it.
aids was created in a lab to kill dumb rednecks like you. did you know that homosexuality occurs in nature at the EXACT same ratio in nature as it does in humans? didnt your god till you not to judge people? that that was his job? go work on your OWN life!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
homosexuality is a sin.but it shoulodnt be condemned over any other sin. everyone sins everyday of there life, christian or not. so the big issue seems to not even be one of religion...
All the comments that still say that homosexuality is a sin have been brainwashed by those wrong translations into thinking that they are true. If homosexuality was REALLY a sin it would have been mentioned more than it is, when you have killing and stealing mentioned more than anything else! This video let me know that what I thought is true. Thanks for putting it up.
my opinion on this as a 17 yr old male who has feelings for other men, is that we will never know what it truly "right" or wrong. We simply have been misled by so many things, and our own free will has in a way cursed us. We can choose not to believe in certain things, and that is where the problem started, and that is where it will end.We simply rely on faith cuz it makes personal problems easier to deal with.Cuz without faith in God,we have to accept that we may not go anywhere when we die :(
IT'S ABOUT TIME SOMEONE FINALLY BROUGHT SOME FACTS WITH THE ISSUE!!!, I too am tired of listening to ppl with false arguments trying to justify their prejudices. jesus says to love everyone, and that god made us perfect the way we are, but it must be easier 4 ppl to hate rather than love, if hate is what is being preached these days. more videos should be publisized like this, so that innocent ppl can finally feel safe to live the lives god gave them, gay or straight, or asexual.
It's amazing isn't it, you post a video with an educated position, and all these people do is blindly follow their beliefs, which have been misled ever since the bible was translated, over the orginal hebrew version that their faith is based off of. I agree with you and your uploading of this video, I have personally done research on it and many words were mistranslated, but unfortunately many christians are so ignorant that they base their faith off of mistranslated text instead of the original
God says not to judge by appearance but...He'll forgive me because i'am a believer and he died on the cross for my sins! so here it goes...damn girl you need to wash your greasy hair , get a nose job...oh better yet put a bag over your head...hahahah! Just kidding! Don't have a cow now!
btw your video is a bunch of rambling with no sense what soever!...bye.
You are basically the epitome of what it means to be a bad Christian. Sinning on purpose because God will forgive you? That's not the point of forgiveness. It is reserved for people who accidentally sin or can't help but sin.
You're just abusing the system, and God knows that.
P.S. My fiance disagrees with you. He likes the nose, and dislikes the bag. But he does agree about the hair... terribly oily. Maybe I need better shampoo?
There are two ways of learning the scriture. The first is called introduction commentary, the other is theology. Introduction commentary teaches the bible without bias, using history, language, and midrash as its basis. Theology is sprit fulled teaching which teaches on the supernatural basis. It is estimated that only around 0.00001 of a percent of all Christian ministers are taught introductory commentary. Which is why so many peoples understanding of the bible is so far fetched.
GOD is REAL. Point. Blank. Period. I'm guessing you're not open to seeing the power of God and what he can do in your life and all of the great things he has for you, which is unfortunate. Honestly you are missing out on great things. But i'll pray for you. Give God a try.
AMEN, Its such a shame to see obviously smart young people such as this girl (except about Jesus and His word) not give His word and promises a chance. They always want to TRY and find ways to say He is contridicting, which is soooo not true. Hes PERFECT, the same then, now, and always. And hopefully she will get it one day before its too late.
Good video, although you said that because the original text of the bible doesn't condemn homosexuality, society shouldn't, when in fact they shouldn't anyway because it's stupid.
Also, you said "astrological" instead of "astronomical", which matters because astrology is a ton of shit, while astronomy isn't.
Anyway, good day, and I think bible-morons should watch it.
People need to start seeing the other people in the world as fellow human beings. There should be no separation between us weither it be skin color (race could go along with that, depending on how ya see it), gender, sexual orientation... we're all people, damnit. Seperating everyone into their own seperate groups has been the cause of so much shit that's usually never had a good outcome, if you get what I'm saying here. <.< I'm hoping this relates to the video.
I have a feeling that will turn tables because most atheist that I've met want to do away with christianity and other religions. Then, we'll be put in institutions for having faith in something that is not physically tangible. There has to be religion tolerance and non-religious tolerance with a set standard of rules agreed on by a society for that to work.
She finally turned to Christ for help and away from her destructive ways. She is now one of the happiest most motivated and successful people I know and admire so much. I wish non-believers could see how God can change people's lives. I think there would be a lot fewer of these types of videos if they could see that.
I want to find the truth and Christianity doesn't hold that for me. I want to spread the truth that I find... and this is fact. How can you argue the cold, hard facts with me? Besides the fact that someone found happiness within Christianity doesn't make it right. Linguistically, it's pretty clear the bible is a sham.
I've found happiness within my spiritual belief of disbelieving organized religion and there's nothing wrong with that. But if I find truth along the way... that's another story.
And how dare you tell me what my motivational reasoning for making this video are? Because, while it is certainly none of your business, my entire reasoning was for my brother Paul. He's gay and struggling with his severe Catholic upbringing. He's the greatest person I know, and anyone who met him would find themselves having a hard time disliking him. Seeing him and his life mocked because people believe something that's inaccurate breaks my heart.
Someone close to you that you admire found her calling through Jesus Christ. Someone I admire, someone kind and extremely intelligent and loving, is being hurt by Jesus Christ's followers... over something that linguistically isn't even true. So where does that put me?
Also, there never will be less of these types of videos... only more. Blindly believing what you're told is a thing of the past. The recognizing of free will and the spread of information VIA the internet is killing that. And thank goodness! Follow Christianity if it's your calling, but PLEASE respect that it isn't everyones... and someone who doesn't believe what you believe has the right to sit and pick at it all they want. If it's right to you, what difference does it make?
Oh, and one last thing, since I'm done flooding my own video with comments...
Mistranslation isn't a theory. It's a fact. If you took ONE class in linguistics, the term "lost in translation" would mean something to you. It isn't just a movie... it happens a lot, and not just to the bible. The bible just so happens to be a very widespread book.
If someone TRULY believed in Christ, nothing I said could pull them away from that. It isn't my fault if someone has doubt in their hearts.
Sorry I can't fit all of this into one message. The people who advocate these "mistranslation" theories are non-believers who want not to create a more accurate version of the Bible, but to disprove it altogether. Their goal is to pull Christians away from God and push their own secular beliefs. Christianity changes so many people for the better. A friend of mine was abused as a child and nearly ruined her life through sin that she thought could relieve the pain.
Homosexuality is in fact a sin. You say that we shouldn't trust the people who wrote "this version" of the Bible. The question is you say we shouldn't trust the two guys who wrote this then why should we trust the guys who wrote the greek version? How do you know they weren't lying? and how do you know whoever translated those words translated them correctly? This is another case of he said she said.
Because I don't. I wouldn't trust anything but the first language the bible was written in. In a few other religions, such as Judaism, you have to learn the Torah in Hebrew, so there are no misinterpretations. There is no "he said, she said," it's the truth of "lost in translation."
Everyone knows the phrase, "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi, ce soir?" It literally translates, "Would you like to go to bed with me this evening?" If you translate it to, "Do you want to have sex with me?" it loses it's original meaning and is then even more twisted and warped when you translate, "Do you want to have sex with me?" into another language which will further bastardize the meaning.
Oh my goodness, what a lie you've been told. A homosexual person is not sinning just by "being" gay. But he/she is sinning if they actually live the gay lifestyle. Sorry to burst your bubble.
You're in my prayers. I hope that the grace of God pours over you through Jesus Christ.
What can I say? Should we stone married gay adulterers then? Betraying a women with another man is certainly low. Secondly, the greek word arsenokoitns clearly means someone who either commits sodomy or lewd acts in bed with another man. I am not supprised Malakos is mistranslated though.
I agree with some of what you say, dait...but...the KJV is the closet to the original texts. I study the Bible with many other resources available that give me the ability to see the original wording and phrases used...makes a huge difference in intrepretation. It doesn't leave out anything like say, the NIV.
Not true. The Douay-Rheims was translated from the Latin Vulgate. It is the closest to the original Greek. The KJV actually got its source from the Douay-Rheims. But it also has many bad translations & some of the first of KJV has actually mistakes in it. The KJV is just a bad version and I would not rely on it for much at all.
I agree with you on the NIV. It's a bad "paraphrase" translation.
The Textus Receptus is the translation used for the KJV. It is the orignal translation of the Hebrew/Aramaic/Koine Greek to the Greek language, which was translated by the Hebrews. Secondly, the Hebrew word for effeminate is malakos, not arsennokoitai. This word also means for a man to do unnatural lewdness with his body.
The Textus Receptus is hardly a error-less resource. Erasmus' original edition was fraught with errors and Erasmus only had six Greek original Greek texts to rely on. Not to mention the KJV arbitrarily cuts out the Apocrypha (which is part of the Greek Texts and the Latin Vulgate). Politics against the Catholic Church had a lot to do with the KJV.
This is not even mentioning the essential inaccuracy of translating from ANY language to another. Ask any linguist about the semantic difference between "equivalent lexemes" in unrelated languages, and you'll find these "similar" words are merely similar in form, not in semantic value. This goes DOUBLE for translating from one ancient language to another, completely culturally and temporally different language.
@MENCADO excused from Gods judgement. And I she/he who created this video doesn't believe in our God in the first place then it's not her business to retranslate our beliefs.

I have no idea of what you meant by that statement, but I do know that I have not said that any person who translated any text IS wrong.
MENCADO 2 months ago
@blueeyedwannabe
MENCADO 2 months ago
@MENCADO To this is true... If you remember cprrecty, I never once said you were wrong. But for a person to willingly and openly title something "misinterpretations and miscommunications of the Bible" it's begging for someone to tell them they're wrong.
MENCADO 2 months ago
If that is the case, then whatever you (for example) believe to be correct translation, correct interpretation, and/or correct representation of Biblical content may - nevertheless - NOT actually be any of those things.
It seems to me to be naive for anyone to presume that being so mistaken as to have such incorrect belief about that simply could not occur to him or her.
MENCADO 2 months ago
It seems possible to me that any person could - or even that multiple individuals (any individuals) all could - mistakenly believe any number of mistranslations, and/or of misinterpretations, and/or of misrepresentations of ANY spoken language and/or of any text to be neither mistranslation, nor misinterpretation, nor misrepresentation.
MENCADO 2 months ago
Naive but using your head. The bible assumes the reader understands the world around them in ways not explained in the bible. Homosexuality, therefore, is not covered but once, in the Law of Moses, which places a death sentence on those who do it with young men. However, nature is of God, so God made the sexual ganglia in the rectum PLUS the HIV etc consequences of poor hygiene. The bible becomes academic propoganda in retrospect, for the ears of the ignorant who need ceremony and ritual. JHC

As a believer in God I can say that the word of God is true AS you have shown to us that in the original text God did not condemn gays, because why would God condemn those He created? We can't blame God for man's misinterpretation of scriptures in order to fulfill their quest to HATE!

Let me break this down for ya:
Does any part of the female body look like it was made for another female?
does any part of the male body look like it was made for the male?
Practical application, something people who dislike religion seem to forget.
How did AIDS come into being?
Why is it only males can spark up the female reproduction system?
You know the answer to these questions and so does everyone else, so good luck when Christ asks.

my opinion on this as a 17 yr old male who has feelings for other men, is that we will never know what it truly "right" or wrong.

You are basically the epitome of what it means to be a bad Christian. Sinning on purpose because God will forgive you? That's not the point of forgiveness. It is reserved for people who accidentally sin or can't help but sin.
You're just abusing the system, and God knows that.

I think there would be a lot fewer of these types of videos if they could see that.
dripdropchic 3 years ago
I want to find the truth and Christianity doesn't hold that for me. I want to spread the truth that I find... and this is fact. How can you argue the cold, hard facts with me? Besides the fact that someone found happiness within Christianity doesn't make it right. Linguistically, it's pretty clear the bible is a sham.
I've found happiness within my spiritual belief of disbelieving organized religion and there's nothing wrong with that. But if I find truth along the way... that's another story.
Danashae 3 years ago
And how dare you tell me what my motivational reasoning for making this video are? Because, while it is certainly none of your business, my entire reasoning was for my brother Paul. He's gay and struggling with his severe Catholic upbringing. He's the greatest person I know, and anyone who met him would find themselves having a hard time disliking him. Seeing him and his life mocked because people believe something that's inaccurate breaks my heart.
So there you have it.
Danashae 3 years ago
Someone close to you that you admire found her calling through Jesus Christ. Someone I admire, someone kind and extremely intelligent and loving, is being hurt by Jesus Christ's followers... over something that linguistically isn't even true. So where does that put me?
Danashae 3 years ago
Also, there never will be less of these types of videos... only more. Blindly believing what you're told is a thing of the past. The recognizing of free will and the spread of information VIA the internet is killing that. And thank goodness! Follow Christianity if it's your calling, but PLEASE respect that it isn't everyones... and someone who doesn't believe what you believe has the right to sit and pick at it all they want. If it's right to you, what difference does it make?
Danashae 3 years ago
Oh, and one last thing, since I'm done flooding my own video with comments...
Mistranslation isn't a theory. It's a fact. If you took ONE class in linguistics, the term "lost in translation" would mean something to you. It isn't just a movie... it happens a lot, and not just to the bible. The bible just so happens to be a very widespread book.
If someone TRULY believed in Christ, nothing I said could pull them away from that. It isn't my fault if someone has doubt in their hearts.
Danashae 3 years ago

This is another case of he said she said.
dwinters67 3 years ago
Because I don't. I wouldn't trust anything but the first language the bible was written in. In a few other religions, such as Judaism, you have to learn the Torah in Hebrew, so there are no misinterpretations. There is no "he said, she said," it's the truth of "lost in translation."
Danashae 3 years ago
Everyone knows the phrase, "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi, ce soir?" It literally translates, "Would you like to go to bed with me this evening?" If you translate it to, "Do you want to have sex with me?" it loses it's original meaning and is then even more twisted and warped when you translate, "Do you want to have sex with me?" into another language which will further bastardize the meaning.
Danashae 3 years ago
Oh my goodness, what a lie you've been told. A homosexual person is not sinning just by "being" gay. But he/she is sinning if they actually live the gay lifestyle. Sorry to burst your bubble.
You're in my prayers. I hope that the grace of God pours over you through Jesus Christ.

What can I say? Should we stone married gay adulterers then? Betraying a women with another man is certainly low. Secondly, the greek word arsenokoitns clearly means someone who either commits sodomy or lewd acts in bed with another man. I am not supprised Malakos is mistranslated though.
weboh2 4 years ago
I agree with some of what you say, dait...but...the KJV is the closet to the original texts. I study the Bible with many other resources available that give me the ability to see the original wording and phrases used...makes a huge difference in intrepretation. It doesn't leave out anything like say, the NIV.
bubbileeboo 4 years ago
For instance, find the verse Matthew 18:11 in an NIV. Or Mark 2:17, Mark 7:15,16 etc. The KJV has the most original in an English Bible.
bubbileeboo 4 years ago
1Hope4All 4 years ago
The Textus Receptus is the translation used for the KJV. It is the orignal translation of the Hebrew/Aramaic/Koine Greek to the Greek language, which was translated by the Hebrews. Secondly, the Hebrew word for effeminate is malakos, not arsennokoitai. This word also means for a man to do unnatural lewdness with his body.
bubbileeboo 4 years ago
The Textus Receptus is hardly a error-less resource. Erasmus' original edition was fraught with errors and Erasmus only had six Greek original Greek texts to rely on. Not to mention the KJV arbitrarily cuts out the Apocrypha (which is part of the Greek Texts and the Latin Vulgate). Politics against the Catholic Church had a lot to do with the KJV.
daitenshimetatron 4 years ago
This is not even mentioning the essential inaccuracy of translating from ANY language to another. Ask any linguist about the semantic difference between "equivalent lexemes" in unrelated languages, and you'll find these "similar" words are merely similar in form, not in semantic value. This goes DOUBLE for translating from one ancient language to another, completely culturally and temporally different language.
daitenshimetatron 4 years ago
