I'll never forget Janeen Best. Not because she was one of my favorites(Nothing personal against her either). She's was permanently etched in my memory after the horror of discovering that she had replaced my favorite dancer at the time Helene Phillips. Even to this day......why oh why did it have to be Helene?!

Maybe you can edit the Replacements by adding Arlene Ng (Season 4) to it.

Nothing against Arlene, but if you read the description, all these dancers were a replacement for Helene Phillips. Technically, Arlene replaced Deborah and wouldn't fit into this video. You'll notice Gayle, Nicole, Lucinda aren't in this video either. That's because they didn't replace Helene either.

And when I say "aren't in this video" I mean aren't named in the line up like the women who replaced Helene.

@lbCharmed1 Also in season 6 (85-86) with the return of Darcel and the departure of Janeen, Jamilah occupied the same spot as Helene's replacement for the second time like Janeen.

By the way, I wonder what the future will be for all the videos that you guys are making. Some of my favorites ones have been removed due to terms of use violation. At this point all the videos will have to be mute.

Yes - Arlene was only on for about 4 shows (something like that) after Deborah left before the end of season 4 and then when season 5 started Arlene was gone there there was Beverly instead.

very nice post, the producer always try to replace the dancers with other similars: deborah - beverly, kahea - nicole, lezlie-janeen (as a blond girls), they had a structure and line

Great concept and presentation. Would be interested in seeing the ranking of the dancers by number of episodes in which they appeared. Also would be interesting to see which dancers were the favorites. Seems like there was a dancer with blond hair in season 5 that I can not identify. Actually looked a little bit older, resembling Anita Mann. I'll see if I can point to her in an upload. Principal dancers: Darcel, Pam, Gayle, Deborah, Kahea. Others?

I don't understand what you're asking about the unidentified blond dancer. Are you saying there is yet another person who danced in what is known as "Helene's spot" in the line-up?

Just a dancer I could not identify. But then again I can barely recognize Nicole from Seasons 4 and 5! My other statements referred to a desire to see a listing of the dancers in order of episodes on Solid Gold, and a poll of fans of their favorite dancers.

Hmmmm, a poll would be quite interesting, however probably a very difficult task to undertake! I don't know if I would even know were to begin (not that I'm trying to undertake it - just thinking about what it would take)!!

An informal method would be having a video similar to this with an intro for each dancer (nice graphics; not sure my software will accomplish this) followed by video from each dancer (hopefully could find video where each dancer is featured prominently) and asking each viewer to rate their favorites; i.e. top five in order. I may attempt if you elect not to, but you always do a great job.

If you attempt and receive sufficient input, one way to tabulate the results would be to emulate the professional sports' MVP voting system: for each ballot (comment in this case), 3 points for being ranked number one, 2 points for being ranked number two, and 1 point for being ranked number three. Add the results and you have the final rankings. Of course, they are all winners! You may wish to have a separate contests for the men and women.
