  • I like this idea. Too bad Xmas is over . But I found another great idea that I've been using for my glittery nailpolishes . I buy some bigger hair clips and paint them with the nailpolishes . Very cute and inexpensive way to accecorise

  • I making this for my friends for Christmas I'll go to wallgreens when sinful colors is 99 cents and go to micheals and I'll write there names on them Christmas come soon

  • I can't believe I'm only seeing this now!! Damn! Oh well, I'll definitely do it for X-mas 2012. Soooo many polish ideas floating through my mind right now. Thanks so much for this Brooke!

  • Ughh I really wanna do that but it's not x mad anymore :(

  • Biggest waste if nail polish I have ever seen.

  • What a great idea! You do an excellent job at explaining and demonstrating the technique which will be very east to follow. Thanks :)

  • omg i need to this now

  • I don't know why the beginning music made me laugh hysterically.

  • So pretty, I look forward to trying it through the year for a unique 2012 Christmas tree! Thanks

  • This is such a good idea, especially if you'd like to preserve the beauty of a favorite polish, long after you've used it up. I'll definitely be trying this

  • That's amazing too bad Christmas is next year

  • if you want to save your nail polish, simply use paint and use the same technic. You can have bigger bottles of paint at the dollar store for one dollar each bottle. It's your choice if you want to try like I did. :)

  • just a note: if you dont want to use too much nail polish just buy the smaller ornaments! :))

  • OMG I love this idea so cool.

  • i tried it and it worked its so cool thanks for the idea

    my sis was so jelous

  • What a fantastic original idea! and so pretty.

  • There are simply BEAUTIFUL and SO CREATIVE !! i LOVE them !!

  • this is definitely cool, but I can't believe you wasted the original holo OPI MPJ! haha, I almost wanna tear up.

  • They look so awesome (I TOTALLY want to make these next christmas!) but it hurts my soul seeing you pour huge amounts of beautiful polishes out of their bottles. Haha!

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! so creative, unique, and easy! wow one of the best tutorials i've seen on youtube.

  • I wish I watched this before Christmas!!! It is so great idea :)

  • I made a a couple of these (: I couldn't make too many though, the nail polish fumes were getting to my head haha Anyway, I'm giving my step mom, step sis, and friend one along with the nail polish I made theirs with (:

& I accidentally bought ornaments that have a bit of a rainbow glare in them, but they still look cool.

  • Great!

  • dear anyone who is going to try this : do not use a styrofoam egg carton to let them drip into, apparently nail polish eats right through that stuff! LOL! learn from my mistakes.

  • That is SOOOOOO cool!

  • Tutorial starts at 4:00 . Ur welcome.

  • your nails are very beautiful

  • This is so cool!

  • genius!! :)

  • did the nail polish spread out after you made them? my mom and I tried these last year with paint but the paint would just run out and not coat them.. this seems like a much prettier, less costly way to do these. thanks for sharing :)

  • Cold be a nice way to use the last third of your old polishes that you barely use anymore because they are to thick or you just move on another style.

  • This...is...FANTASTIC!

  • OMG love this

  • thanks for sharing this awesome idea, Brooke!!

  • there are just beautiful!!!..gonna try it

  • It was SO hard for me to try to find any ornaments at the store, had to order them off of Ebay :(

  • amazing!!! Is it possible to make it with craft paint instead of nail polish?

  • @RicanStarz Of course! The only thing with nail polish is that you can use the fancy finishes for the ornaments, but I;m sure you can find some really nice paints too. (:

  • @RicanStarz *I'm

  • I saw this on a blog a while back. it's neat!

  • I did this today but slightly failed I think i need more practice

  • I did this with some clear, plastic ornaments from Hobby Lobby that were $.50 each on sale. They are smaller than yours but it worked out very well for me. Waiting for them to dry now. Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Soooooo cute!!!!!

  • WHY CAN'T WE GET MY PRIVATE JET OLD FORMULA ANYMORE RAWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I remember when I first bought it, I wore it all the time. Then I got a new bottle after using up the older one and the formula was different and wasn't holographic. OPI jerks.....

  • Hi..I am making these now...with smaller ornaments...but was was wondering ...if you are layering with like a glitter polish..do you have to let each coat dry first b4 putting in the other color? Cause I just did a green glitter then put in a dark green after and while spinning it looked awesome but now that they are upside down drying and the left over polish that is wet is falling out in container ..the ornament color is more see through...looking...? Any tips? Please help :)

  • @KrissD74 like do you have to do a couple coats?

  • This seems really fun! I want to do this. (:

  • I made 12 ornaments last night. I absolutely love this idea and I will continue this tradition every year from now on. With all the colors that come out every year I might need an 8' Christmas tree just to put all the ornaments on it. Be sure to check out my page on facebook to see what I made. facebook.com/BrittanysNails,

  • sooo prettayyyyyy! maybe if i have a tree next year i shall do this ;D

  • mabye try crackle nail polish and layer

  • Tried these this morning! So much fun!

  • I'm doing this right now and I find that several colors I have to do multiple layers! So annoying :/

  • @xCoutureQueenx I was just asking that....lol I am doing it now ...and when it is upside down drying it looks more see through.. :( I guess I will have to do a couple layers too :(

  • Love it!!! TFS

  • You should so start up an etsy section for this if it hasnt been done already ;) soo cute!

  • OMG! i was just doing the same thing using paint. idk why i never thought about using nail polish. you are awesome thanks for the idea!

  • Did I really just have an ad before AND AFTER this video?!

  • i used normal paint, and it works too (although not as a pretty) :P

  • Definitely did something similar to this when I was like 10 (my sister and I were forced to make Christmas ornaments every year to give to family). My dad didn't want to pay for the clear ornaments (apparently they cost more??) so I had to use chemicals on colored ornaments to make them clear THEN swirl paint inside. Such a pain in the you-know-what!

  • this is a really good idea!!! thanks brooke

  • This is amazing! I have to try it. So with the one where you used Illamasqua Kink and the Sinful Colors polish, did you have to let the Sinful Colors polish dry completely before adding Kink?

  • Awesome craft project! Last year SecretLifeofaBionerd made DIY ornaments with the same idea using acrylic paint and water. It was really fun (& easy) to do, as well. Endless possibilities! This is a great way to get rid of nailpolish that you would otherwise throw out. Thanks for the DIY project!!!

  • GENIUS!!!!

  • This is an awesome idea!! Love it!

  • Love this idea, going to do this today.. I have all the materials too, just need clear ornaments !!! Can't wait

  • THIS IS mindblowing!

  • i love your videos and i always wonder how you get your nails so long can you help me?

  • Do you think it would work if you put a crackle I'm there first and then you put another color behind it?

  • @warwinpink22 The crackle polish needs to be layered over polish first. Maybe do clear, then crackle, then color.

  • if you wanted funky ornament colors (like say you wanted a black or something) this would be the most kick ass idea ever. i love your easy but awesome ideas :D
