Comparing this to the original? In my opinion this Kicks the Original's Butt. Villains are more badass. few people actually died, and Prince Adam doesn't look anything like He-man.

If you're going to re-make something, at least make sure you're improving on it. This is just as crappy as the original. At least the original was "so bad it's good".
I can never get enough of this show. The direction of the episodes flows very well and makes references to past episodes making you have to watch and appreciate all the details. At 7:18 when it shows Panthor prowling in his pupils are visible but in the released DVD version they made his eyes all green like in the later episodes. Which they would have kept it the same <@_@) Details people!
This show is sorely missed the 2002 reimagining was the best I have seen and the different arcs were genius...Now lets hope thundercats delivers the same when it starts this month.
Sad part about any remakes of such a series is that the transformation scene will never be as good as the original.. yet I crave for this to be not so. But it's true. The transformation scene (Adam to He-Man) is classic and not replicable.
they re-invented he-man, and i have to say that having adam as a young teen that transforms into a powerful adult man is awesome. Big ass battle cat, a huge sword, and all of the other characters looking awesome as well...

This He-Man was the best he man and one of the best cartoons ever. The fight scenes are incredible, and i like all the evil people too. Best He man. Thumbs up if you agree. I was soooooooooo sad when it finished with the snake men.

@badgervsturtle I hate that voice, it's the cheapest, easiest voice to make, just talk around the back of your tongue. It's the exact same technique for Jar Jar Binks, and once you've heard it on one character, it'll just grate on your ears. Or at least it does to me.
What I liked about this series was how they gave background to places and characters in the MOTU universe. My fave has to be Snake Mountains' origins.
first time I seen this. Original version is much better. Evil Lyn sounds and looks horrible. Orginal evil lyn was hotter and so was teela. Skeletor's old voice was more wicked, like darth vader. This stinks almost as when they re did the dukes of hazzard into a movie. That was horrible

AWESOME! I actually like this version. A lot of my friends hated it. I even bought some of the figures. My preverted friend tried to steal my Teela figure...you can look up her skit....white panties! Anywho, this was a really great cartoon!

@dragondisaster i too cannot see how any of the characters have changed, all of them are muscular as in the original he man, and unlike the original he man, you can see the fights in this. They kept the original he man and characters, and advanced them while keeping in step with the originals.
@deadmanlyndon: Well, Skelator is actually evil in this version. I mean he has a motive and actually does evil things, rather than just pulling pranks while cackling. Teela and Adam are now clearly defined as teenagers, King Randor is now a grim warrior king, rather than being the cardboard figure he was in the original... the main difference is that they've "upped the volume", as it were, made it bigger and louder. Which is cool; it is Fantasy after all, it's supposed to be larger than life.
@JCLeSinge KIDS DON'T WANT TO WATCH TEENAGERS, they should have gotten rid of the Adam character. what more a kid needs to see then a sword wielding barbarian. HE-MAN, CONAN, THUNDARR. all the same and we liked the all for the same reason, big dude with a sword kicks the ass of monsters. all the secret identity stuff makes no sense, i didn't even remember it was in the old show until i watched it again as an adult.
That's a good point, actually. Kids either want to watch other kids, or as you say, sword-wielding barbarians vs evil monsters (or laser-blasting space-cops vs giant robots). There are ways in Fantasy to bridge that gap more subtly (such as Hobbits in LOTR or bringing children from Earth to Narnia), but using teenagers isn't one of them.

AWESOME! I actually like this version. A lot of my friends hated it. I even bought some of the figures. My preverted friend tried to steal my Teela figure...you can look up her skit....white panties! Anywho, this was a really great cartoon!

@dragondisaster i too cannot see how any of the characters have changed, all of them are muscular as in the original he man, and unlike the original he man, you can see the fights in this. They kept the original he man and characters, and advanced them while keeping in step with the originals.

@deadmanlyndon: Well, Skelator is actually evil in this version. I mean he has a motive and actually does evil things, rather than just pulling pranks while cackling. Teela and Adam are now clearly defined as teenagers, King Randor is now a grim warrior king, rather than being the cardboard figure he was in the original... the main difference is that they've "upped the volume", as it were, made it bigger and louder. Which is cool; it is Fantasy after all, it's supposed to be larger than life.

@JCLeSinge KIDS DON'T WANT TO WATCH TEENAGERS, they should have gotten rid of the Adam character. what more a kid needs to see then a sword wielding barbarian. HE-MAN, CONAN, THUNDARR. all the same and we liked the all for the same reason, big dude with a sword kicks the ass of monsters. all the secret identity stuff makes no sense, i didn't even remember it was in the old show until i watched it again as an adult.

That's a good point, actually. Kids either want to watch other kids, or as you say, sword-wielding barbarians vs evil monsters (or laser-blasting space-cops vs giant robots). There are ways in Fantasy to bridge that gap more subtly (such as Hobbits in LOTR or bringing children from Earth to Narnia), but using teenagers isn't one of them.
