  • Joan Baez is truly an American legend. A beautiful artist with so much soul. Her songs make me so nostalgic for the idealism of my youth. She is so powerfully humanistic - I love her so much.

  • Such a wonderful singer! I love her voice!

  • oh my god oh my god oh my god, wish i would be there

  • Thanks for this. Amazing, amazing. I had no idea she was here in this country last year. Or maybe I did. Anyhow, someone has already noted here that she has changed the words of "Diamonds and Rust". Anyone who remembers the original text from the 70s (meaning heard it then) is just about punched in the gut when it comes to th new "40 years ago I bought you some cufflinks" ... no more "10 years"; but "I'll take the diamonds" is a witty twist in place of "I've already paid" at the end.

  • I was there filmed her too best performance Ive ever seen

  • Lol! No she never sang that ? but hey she should! it would suit her don't you think?

  • saw her recently in glasgow , she was amazing, great singer and funny between the songs, she's a gem! never sang dixie though? but you cant always get what you want?

  • What - a Rolling Stones cover? LOL

  • Just saw this show in Vicar street - unbelievable, she still shines! She first changed that "I'll take the diamonds" lyric in the Ring them Bells tour... its lovely! Legend.

  • Right at the start someone says "wow"... I like to think that that person has never heard Joan... knows that name, but never heard her :) just like me a few years ago. (that "wow" person is probably really a massive fan:)

I had no idea she played Glastonbury :D did she do any Dylan? did she do Dixie?

  • you just heard With God On Our Side. That is Dylan.

  • Nice. Thanks. I had no idea.

  • a lifetime song

  • still unique,,,wonderful to hear her sing my all time favourite song

Diamonds and Rust, fills me with times of my life, that she made stand out like a star in the sky,,,she touches my soul..

  • I love this song and her voice!!! It's kinda funny how she changed the ten years ago I bought you some cufflinks to 40 years ago...and the end when she said I'll take the diamond!! Absolutely in love with her!!!!

  • i think old joan has lost some of her outstanding voice. please reply if im not right

  • no duh. she is old as hell now. What do you think happens when people get old?

  • Am I wrong, or is the audience singing along on both songs? How cool!

Thanks so much for posting this video. Two of my favorite songs :-)

  • I hope to see again one day, Bob dylan et Joan Baez sing together. But it seem that it will never happen.

  • Thanks for posting this as i didnt make it to Glastonbury but did see her playing these songs live in Tampa in April and look forward to Royal Albert Hall in Oct.What a voice!

  • She is amazing, thanks for sharing the memory. I am due to see her this year 50th year performing, Wow!!

  • It's so incredible to see this video. Joan Baez still singing with such a beautiful voice. I have just about every Baez album including one of her first LPs, "Joan Baez in San Francisco." To me there is no other folk singer with a voice like Joan Baez. I was a fan of Judy Collins before she kind of went into a cabaret type performance. I liked very early Joni Mitchell (60's & early 70's work only) but Joan Baez has always by far been my favourite. Folk singers today do not sing like this at all.

  • Agree! Judy's earlier work was more compelling. When she sang in a lower range her voice was more dramatic and emotional.

Joni's voice and music has been a wreck for decades now.

pppppwhen she sang in a lower

  • I agree with your comment about Joni's voice & music. She has always been a very heavy smoker.I remember many years ago when I was 19,I was taking a voice class at a local college. The instructor said that heavy smoking will definitely take it's toll on the singing voice & seems to effect women more so then men. This was not a health class. He only spoke about how smoking effects the voice. Joni is a very talented writer but I really feel that her heavy smoking caused deteioration in her voice.

  • Amazing!

Best act this year, I absolutely feel in love with her! She's playing in my home town tonight but I can't go see her... :-(

  • that woman ha s such an amazing voice, take note all you wannabe so called divas

  • I am sooo jealous that you can listen to her live, see her !! I wonder if she´ll ever came here to Argentina...

  • thanks for posting this! one of my highlights from this year, was so glad I went to see her

  • Now then, I must have been stood 20 feet from you filming this! same view , same angle. Diamonds and rust fantastic. Thankyou for preserving my memories. Winston

  • I am so glad I went to see this lady at glastonbury. Beautiful!

  • this woman deserves much more praise and recognition than she has been given, love her music and what it represents

  • B E A U T I F U L

    Saskia

  • Thanks for this. A pity that the BBC didn't have Joan on live - despite the TV pages saying that she would be!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. What a great video. The song is With God on our side.
