Actually covering songs from other countries is nothing wrong. It's not like in the 80's HK itself had no great song writers. In fact, since in 90's those radio stations forced the issue of "complete local production" it exhausted the talent of the HK song writers. They forgot HK is only a small market and most singers need a lot of songs to make like 2 albums per year. It turned out most albums contain mostly crab melodies and nobody want to buy them.

About the MLTR made a cover of Jacky song IT'S ALL ABOUT MARKETING STRATEGY !

Nobody knows who the hell is MLTR except asian ppl ! They are famous here that's why they made a cover version of Jacky song to pleased the fans !

In the 80's and 90's hk songs are mostly from japan or western . they did that to make quick money!

Tis is the main reason why hk music industry collpased!
