It depends who you lose to. USC lost/loses to unranked bottom feeders of an inferior conference. The new alignment won't do much. Colorado hasn't been **it since 1990. I will give USC credit for the non-conference games they play. They are almost as good as LSU at scheduling those...almost.

Stop talking about USC. They were cheating in those years and playing in the Pac 10. Put any SEC program in the Pac 10 (LSU, UF, UGA, Auburn, Alabama, Tenn) and they would win it every year. Why do u think the Pac 10 wants to expand... to compete w/ the SEC.

Compare USC and LSU players who played in their so called split national title

games that year and you'll see that more LSU players have had respectable NFL careers so far. That's a fact.

oh please..yes but usc did win a championship in a nuetral site..lsu did not..doesn't make your championship any less impressive but playing in a bowl game where 85% of the people are cheering for that team...makes a difference

Not they are not. Everybody with any brain would know that USC was the best team in the country. They would have destroyed LSU. Bush, Leinart, White, and Williams would have put up enough points and if the LSU offense could only manage 14 points against a mediocre OU defense then what would they do against USC D?
