Having seen Pearl perform this song solo, I think I prefer that to this duet with the two of them. Still an amazing artist though. And have you seen his daughter - wow, she got the good genes in that family, must take after her mother. Extrodinarily hot, and a good singer to boot.
Back in 1977, hearing and then seeing "Bat out of hell" performed on TV... the very first music video on the Icelandic National TV station "RUV"
I was captured for life.
It was something completely different, something never seen before. I was only 11 years old at the time, but it was the moment of truth for me. I had a small chat with Meat back in 1991 when I lived in Denmark and he came by to perform in Aarhus.. great performer.
@TraustiHraunfjord I don't know what I love more about this post...the admiration of Meat (well deserved) or the fact that my last name is Aarhus. Oh, the admiration, obviously
I just saw him last night in Hollywood FL Hard Rock he is sooo awsome!!! He rocks and found out last night he is 63 years old and still going! He sang allll the good songs!!!
He still sounds great to me, I always liked him. I think hes an excellent actor as well, I've seen several of his moives and he just keeps getting better. He can still rock though.
Actually, the original song belongs to Mother Superior ("Mother Superior (2001) ").
This band use to play with Pearl Aday (previous Pearl band name was "Mother Pearl" (Broken Thorny Crown) ), and in the last one (Little Immaculate White Fox ) they wrote the music for Pearl lyrics.
If you check other Mother Superior song's you will realice that it is their very style, and, in my opinion, this is not the best song they have, for far.
Justine I know you're right and deep down the Meat Loaf fans do too. It's obvious to anyone who doesn't suffer from blind hero worship. They refuse to even admit when he's lip-synched even when it's super obvious.
Too old??, too rude?? haha...Ok... so, if you really knew Meat you would at least know what his music is about. Stop whining you bored suit wearing sheeps, as Jim Steinman would say "Goddamn it daddy!!!... you know I love you... BUT YOU GOT A HELL OF A LOT TO LEARN ABOUT ROCK N` ROLL!!!"

How old is he? Why is he still doing songs like this? I use to be a HUGE fan. Met him twice. Had a cat named Meatloat. But after his comeback, he became such an asshole. He lost me. He needs to drop the jerk act and just sing.
It's part of his act when he sings Paradise. Not only that but the last time I saw him, he was making nasty, crude comments to the audience. Just so happened he was playing the same night Bruce Springsteen was playing in the town at another venue so attendance may have been a little low, but WE came to see HIM. His language was downright fowl and there were a LOT of kids in the audience. I waited outside, 2 hours, pregnant for an autograph. didn't get one.
Exactly. It's part of his ACT. It's not him. As far as language, it's Meat Loaf. It's a rock and roll concert. What else is to be expected? Anyway, kids hear and SAY worse at school, so I doubt hearing him say fuck or whatever scarred them too badly.
As far as the autograph thing, it happens to everyone with every celebrity, singer, etc. You were never promised an autograph, you made the decision to wait two hours while pregnant. The man collapses after he performs, so, give him break.
Duh. I know it's an act. I've been going to see him in concert for 30 years! I'm sorry. Were you there? I was, and it was much worse than just him saying fuck. He was berating the audience the whole time. It was terrible, and a real letdown after 30 years of being a fan. He was better when he was humble. And that's just the tip of the iceberg as for my experience with his shows since his comeback. Don't ask questions if you don't want to hear the answers.
if u used to be such a hardcore fan you should know he was acting before his singing career started, its a big part of him. will you change who you are when you get old? uhm no. just let him do whatever he wants and if you dont like it dont watch it. also you're calling him an asshole, but who's the asshole? you insult someone whos obviously a friggin legend with amazing talent. you should talk about the guy with some respect, he earned.
Yeah he started off in plays I believe, than after his go at Rocky Horror Picture Show he performed with Stoney for a Motown Record, than provided vocals on 5 songs for Ted Nugent's album Free For All when Derek St. Jones left for a short time. Not many know of this, just like not many know that Dio was a Doo Whop singer before he joined Elf
Rock isn't tea party's and rainbows. It's not rare for a rock artist to tell the audience to "fuck off" or to give them the finger. It's not meant in a degrading way, it's rock.
Oh really, because I thought rock was all about tea party's and rainbows. (rolls eyes) Again.... You weren't there. it was much worse than just a fuck you and a finger. and I don't need a lecture about what rock and roll is. Trust me, I know.
Not his fault, he can't get to every person. That's horrible you waited that long, though. Also, most of his language is horrible and his subject matter in his songs are too. But, he's rock n roll!

Keep him away from songs like "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" and make sure he performs songs like this more often. *THIS* is the type of song that Meat Loaf *SHOULD* be performing!
I know I've been hard on Meat Loaf in other comments, but I just feel that he should stay away from anything first recorded by Pandora's Box (and that includes stuff like "Original Sin", "Good Girls Go To Heaven [Bad Girls Go Everywhere]" and "The Future Ain't What It Used To Be", all of which were originally performed by Pandora's Box). His other work, like this song, is very enjoyable...I just don't think that the songs peformed by Pandora's Box suit his voice.
