Even though Yao is done for the season and TMac could be out until February, Houston will still make the playoffs. Rick Adelman is an all-time great coach. Aaron Brooks can be a great point guard. Shane Battier is one of best defenders and three point shooters in the league. Luis Scola could be an all star. Chuck Hayes emerged is a great defender. All the teams that made the playoffs last year will repeat because the other seven non-playoff teams are rebuilding. This coming from a lakers fan

No because even if Yao comes back he won't be 100% and I don't think TMac will be 100% even when he comes back too. I'm not taking anything away from Ariza but how well he played in the playoffs can be related to that he was playing in a contract year. I've seen it all the time that when a player signs a new contract they never live up to it. I don't think he'll have nearly the success he had in the playoffs. Besides Artest makes the Lakers better than last year assuming they keep Odom.
