Hyabusas are only marginally faster than regular sport bikes... so I wouldn't say smoked... but ya on those bikes its almost always the rider.

its all about the rider, i beat a guy on a Busa with my 99 R1 AND I KNOW my bike would normaly get SMOKED by a Busa. Ive also been smoked by my brothers buddy on his Busa so there you go.
