I actually really like this cover of the song. I think it has got passion and enough uniqueness to be something new (other than someone simply playing the song note for note). At least that is my humble opinion. <3
I'm afraid you're wrong. You almost had us going though...having the audacity to use caps lock to highlight your point was a good bluff! It's a Postal Service original.
you fuckers criticize too much,he sings it with passion, and feeling. everyones a fucking critic especially the no talent mother fuckers that sit behind the screen that have no talent and want to feel big by telling people that worked on something that their work is shit ..........and fuck you guy above me for telling me im over reacting ( well if you didn't i apologies)
Good cover, I like iron and wines cover more though, mostly because they dont miss out half the first verse and then sing it at the end of the second verse instead..
Very original. You need to let people know that it's a cover though, I was mislead by the title of the video. The song isn't being performed by The Postal Service
The original is definitely by The Postal Service, written in 2002. Iron and Wine covered it before it was released as a single in 2003 by The Postal Service. They included the Iron and Wine cover version as a b-side on the "Such Great Heights" EP.
Hope this clears up any confusion surrounding the song :)
I think this actually might be by Iron and Wine.... At one of Ben Gibbards solo shows he played it and mentioned it was written by Sean Bean A.K.A Iron and Wine.. But who knows...
Well according to when the songs were released by the bands, The Postal Service was first. What Gibbard may have been saying was that he was playing the Sean Bean version which is definitely different from the Postal Service version. Personally, I heard the Iron and Wine first, and when I heard the Postal Service version I thought it was just a sped up remix. Live and learn.
Noobs thinking that Iron & Wine did the original lol... Postal Service wrote this song, now understand it!

Ben Gibbard of Death Cab wrote the song and did vocals on the techno version ( postal service) then Iron and wine covered it
radxcore77 3 years ago
So was it Postal Service who wrote this? I just love Iron & Wine's version alot more I thought they wrote it.

Yes Postal Service wrote it. Iron & WIne's version is great. But it doesn't beat Postal Service.

I don't know if this is a cover or not, but if it's the original one, the singer is the singer of death cab for cutie, it's his "side project"
thegroove1987 3 years ago
i don't know if you're saying ben gibbard(death cab lead singer) is the original writer or not, cause he is..
and that's not him..so it's a cover. a good one!
