Yes all religions must be dealt equally and just. Right now Islam is shown very negatively in the western civilization. I think this is unjust as well. So treat all humans equally and just. This is not done in any goverment at this time.

The hurtful truth is that Muslims misbehave often which makes them unpopular throughout the world (not just the West). If Muslims were treated equally riots would emerge on the streets for blasphemy.

In many a-Islamic society (as in Europe) it's still considered normal to use excessive violence for the least sign of blasphemy.

Equal treatment for Islam would be putting it under a lot of pressure, like Christianity is put under pressure.

If the Muslims who follow the idea that they live in a 'new djahiliya' and seek to live under 'devine' (barbarous in my book) Shari'a law and truly believe that apostacy needs to be punished by death, women are less than men, homosexual needs to be executed, etc... and that once they're the ruling class non-Muslims need to accept Muslim domination; it very normal people are not a fan of Islam. Also during the Islamic Golden Age non-Muslims had to be careful. There's always a double-edged sword.

during the crusades non-Muslims had the freedom of worship and travel in the holy land, but during the rains of European Christians, non-Christians were met with mass slaughter.

The main reason for holding science secular is that knowledge is not only given to muslims but other humans on earth are also Gods favoret creations and get some nice things. So the since their is no "represion in Religion" and we need the knowledge of non muslims as well as Prophet Mohammed told us. We must allow to science to become apart from religion. Because the non muslim scientist will feel them represed by that. So they will not join the science. Freedom is best.
