There is no single awnser, but yes, hydro is a very good idea. In my opinion, given our climate, hydro and wind power should be prefered over solar, for obvious reasons, but more than this we should not shut down polluting plants, we should instead use the excess energy to electrolise (sp?) hydrogen particles and finally get green cars and fuel, over time then phase out the old power plants. This will provide the government with revenue as well as ween us off oil, and create jobs.

Hydro electricity is the way to cut down carbon emissions nuclear energy does not cut t down as much as hydro. Put water mills on every rivers.
