  • @sunjacker9000 i have a question about the walnut bedding ?i have a baby gecko on it and it's having trouble pooing is that the problem?i gave her a warm bath to help her and it helped out some please send me a message back. thanks,

  • right from the begining i figured out it sucks for geckos

  • take this video down. only use that shit if you want your gecko to die. fucking moron.

  • "I´m a gecko girl, in a bad made world...

ask my maaaate, it´s plastic maaaade."

  • sand is a bad idea for babys because they dont have the ability ti dig back up yet

  • so now fuckin zukerberg knows best about terrariums

  • bald guy reminds me of andrew zimmern from the travel channel.

  • get all of the video in you idiot!!!! my god all of them are like this!!!!

  • @epicstupidity0423 hes to lazy to render a video for 5 hours so instead he does it only for 2...

  • Impaction dumb

  • @everyone your face causes impaction

  • my geckos are just fine with sand and im pretty sure that when a gecko would swallow walnut the walnut would expand and increase the chance of impaction

  • guess what people shut the hell up about the sand, how do you think these lizards survived in the desert in the first place?!?! exacly who cares its just sand. All this compaction shit probably some troll thought of of a overeaction to what happend to his beardie. Yes I do believe in compaction but no just sand. It could happen with ANYTHING. so just shut the fuck up

  • Guys shut the fuck up about sand!

Everyone gets so overwhelmed about sand. When there adults there's nooooo problem!! I bet all of u just go to a video with people using sand and u write in the comments,"sand causes impaction!!! These people r dumbasses." U people annoy me so much!!! And I have 4 geckos and they've been on sand (calci sand, play sand, Exo terra sand, reptisand, etc.) their entire lives!! They've been on sand in the pet stores when I got them. And they r so healthy. Trust me I a

  • what do you rather crushed wallnut or calsy sand?

  • @01050g sanddddddddddd

  • @01050g dont use sand or walnut repti carpet is safe and easy to clean.

  • Also I heard for geckos it is okay and even recommended to "overcrowd" their homes with decorations, in nature they usually burrow and hide all day, they only go up to the surface and run around in the sand after weather conditions permit or if there's ALOT of humidity...

Don't use sand for these little guys, you'll hurt them and it would be a shame :( Poor little geckos

  • every one settle down!!

  • no dont use that crap use reti carpet.

  • I hate how so many people use their pets as decorations rather than living animals. crushed walnut and sand are VERY dangerous, but "they dont look as nice" as the SAFE bet of paper towels or reptile carpeting

  • @BrightEyes10003 sand is okay, just put clay with it. What if you have a animal that burrows? You can't use repticarpet or paper towels for that, plus they can't get as warm.

  • @DeathcoreMusik They can still swallow the clay sand and get impacted.

  • 10 seconds in and already: FAIL!

  • u r a peice of crap ya know tht......walnut is baddddddddddddddddd do ur reaserch...and leos dont need UVB THEY R NOCTURNAL

  • u r a peice of crap ya know tht......walnut is baddddddddddddddddd do ur reaserch

  • is this walnut ..normal sand or what it is ? why someone says that this is nooooooooot good :)

  • @BruninhoTheLegend normal sand causes impaction google it

  • @StealthyLeopards if you dont want impaction than you use reptile carpet if you have young gecko, but for adult is good NATURE SAND , and this can cause impaction , if its nature, and if you use one from shop, orange or black, this is not nature, than you need feed your leopard gecko from pincette :)

  • @StealthyLeopards Trust me BruninhoTheLegend has no idea on how to take care of leo's. Any sand can cause impaction.

  • All of this guys videos are terrible thumbs up if you agree:(

  • This was just about as pointless as the expert village videos....

  • NO NOOO NOT THE WALNUTSSSS!

  • bill horneck sucks, he said leopard geckos sleep at night, he had 2 leos in a small 5 gallon tank.

  • hi im jon.im 15 years old and work with all differents kinds of reptiles everyday.i have a lot of knowlege. And work part time with my aunt at her reptile shop she is a vet and im sure to be next

  • @reptiles103 Hi can wat type of tank is this.

  • crushed walnut isnt bad.bad hubstraty causes impaction if you have good caluim levels he wont eat the walnuts.i have 5 leopard geckos and one is 7 and lived on it all her live she is still 65 grams in weight.all over the internet tyhey says it bad but its really not.all my leopard geckos are fed in bowls.do the people that say its bad have prove. no!just have good hubstraty and they will be fine.im prove my leo is 7 and is on it.i just made this account so you people would know.gosh

  • i cant find cruched walnut o my cheese beagle

  • do a videio about a bearded dragon with out cutting the vidieo

  • i love your videos

  • umm ...

  • Someone educate me...WHY in the world is he using that as substrate? Hope thats not for a young reptile...anyhow....educate me before I call this STUPID

  • leopard geckos come from aghanstan where the terrorist live no offese

  • 1:01-1:03 FAIL leopard geckos dont live in a desert habitat you dumbfuck

  • @Seedot0001 actually they do.....they origin is middle eastern..... "dumbfuck"

  • i love how stupid people are. they read what they see and without question the belive it.

the crushed walnut is said to be toxic to animals. first of the crushed walnuts (like in this video) are treated to remove the toxisity in the walnuts, now...the toxin is only bad to animals that will absorb the toxins...like fish. if they eat it its potentioaly bad but no realy, they would have to eat ALLOT. thoes who say crushed walnut killed ur animal... ur are dumb, their are other causes.

  • @MrSnowpea99 its a bit large for them, sand works perfect...just feed ur leopard gecko crickets OUTSIDE of his tank and you will never have to wory about imaction. or feed it worms inside a feeding bowl. its a simple mistake that everyone makes, and because of ignorance...people open ther dumbass mouths and bitch about imaction....

  • @CemetaryGatesML THANK YOU GODDD. finally someone else says something that actually makes sense.

  • dont use crushed walnut my first leo died from this crap.

  • How big is the tank

  • idk if i should use calci sand or thiss crap and should i get a leopard gecko or a beared dragon u tell me

  • cant the gecko get impacted from the substrate

  • wat about the sand you can buy that is for leopard geckos?

  • NEVER USE CRUSHED WALNUT, IT KILLED OUR DRAGON, IT IS TOXIC, EVEN THE VETERINARIAN SAID IT WAS!!!

  • help my gecko isnt eating and i need help.......read escription of video!

  • Can someone tell me if a 12x12x12 terrarium is big enough for a leopard gecko.!?(adult)

  • @622901 a single leopard gecko can live in a 10 gallon tank just fine. ur tank is more than big enough for 1, maby 2

  • okay i want the tank to look like desert but idont want my beardie to like die so ive heard calci sand is edible but i heard sum1 say in another vid it sux so u tell me, walnut stuff or is calcisand ok?

  • @7Kellen7

    no

  • when crushed walnut is ingested into my beardie, it passes right through my beardie.. you can see it in the poop. its fine

  • can u use oatmeal. and does walnut kill the lizard because it looks like sand

  • @molomyotis no it isnt

  • i had my geckos on walnut shells for like 4 months and they were perfectly fine i use sand now and there still very healthy.

  • rushed walnut is the worst

  • @DavidBaik123 its crushed not rushed retard

  • @DavidBaik123 its not the worst your fricken dumb

    its not bad at all

  • @beardies777 lol its a joke

  • Hey i live in the uae and theres loads of natural sand in the desert can i use that insted of crushed walnut

  • is crushed walnut good for a panther gecko please help

  • well realy any sand or loose substrate is bad for the geckos .....i just suggest to use reptile carpet

  • i never like reptile carpet but i gess it will do is there anything else beside R.C and news paper what about clay substrate and i know it not good for babies but the adults ya

  • well ya news paper is ok but don't get it wet cause it has really really bad chemicals (1. the ink )

  • is that all the substrate that is safe

  • well you can use p.c .paper , but you can still use news paper just put a napkins under the water bowl . cause if you wet the news paper the ink can get wet the animal can drink from damp news paper and thats really bad ...;( or else you can go to a hard ware store or crafted shop and ask for china paper which is really thin and cheap and good!!!!!!

  • what about coco husk

  • well that will be grate just feed him or her or it just feed it in another container so it wont eat the coco husk ... ........what type of animal do you have/

  • pictus gecko and it also called the panther gecko look them up see what you think

  • well there pretty cool .....

  • oh k then so reptile carpet it is

  • well thAT WILL BE SAFER

  • ok then

  • BJpennDOTCOM

  • what???

  • Oh, the shells seem a little to fine though...lol...I think my bts would hoard the wlanut shells lol XD

  • is crushed walnut good for leos? and is it the closest thign to sand?

  • Any loose substrate can be dangerous. I've heard some cases of crushed walnut being okay but I'd rather be on the safe side and use reptile carpet. I know some people though who have built a higher level and put food and what not up there so their leopard gecko wont eat the substrate on accident.

  • yeah but Leopard Geckos come from the Middle East bra...... where therre is nothing but sand so this is closer to their accual habitat than inked newspaper, carpet or papertowel.

  • I know I'm just saying to be on the safe side. Just trying to help. :)

  • I understand bra, plus I didnt think that if they were hatched on a papertowel or in perlite

  • is a 20 gallon good for two

  • hey everyone im geting 2 or three leopard geckos soon!what size if tank will i need if u house them all together??please reply asap!

  • at least a 30 gal ide say u want them to be comforable rember that

  • thats not sand that there using, that is ground english walnut shells by zilla.

  • dude if some bodys used it for their reptile and worked just fine, then leave em alone

  • ive had my leopard gecko on sand since he was 3 days old, and now hes 3 years old and fine. u babies worry too much

  • will that impact a leopard gecko?

  • yes

  • the only substrate that isn't dangerous to a leopard gecko is reptile carpet, anything else it will eat, impact, and kill ur gecko

  • i found out u can use clay (non toxic), paper towels, paper, and exavator clay oh and dont forget tile

  • Comment removed

  • well the leo lizard doesint use sand i fink he use reptile carpet but the beared dragon he need sand .. lol my beared dragon is so big and fat and he was born on sand

  • 1. Learn to spell. 2. You're Bearded Dragon is very lucky to still be alive. 3. Most Bearded Dragons live in Australian woodlands which consist of a mainly clay like soil. 4. Just because your Beardie is big and fat doesn't mean he's healthy. 5. Bearded Dragons usually live 5 years max in the wild, and a main reason is impaction for the ones that live in more sandy areas.

  • just use sand some peaple fink that sand is not good for them well they are idiot they live in desert so why you dont wanna use sand .... exacly evrwone trying to be scientist lol some peaple allways blame the sand for no reason and thats where they live

  • well actually they live on clay so thats why they didnt get impaction in iraq or india

  • they eat calci sand and get compacted. they live in the caves of pakistan witch is clay baced soil not desert.

  • walnut..... wow really really crap job. use calcium sand for a desert dwelling lizard

  • whats the best thing to use for the floor in a bearded dragons cage

  • yea, this vid is no good. its obviously a short clip of a larger video.

all they mention is substrate really, and their pushing the worst possible particle substrate there is.

what is it with all these big companies? why cant they do proper research before putting these dangerous things on the shelf.

to a previous poster: if your petstore stopped carrying it thats because they had a conscience. i worked for a guy who wouldnt pull it no matter what proof i showed him it was dangerous.

  • mother fucker this shit is bad for your bearded dragon. My die because this shit dont buy it :(

  • that walnut crap is garbage lol

  • @codeo12345678 y is crushed walnut garbage?

  • no loose substrates especially for leos

  • where do you get the cruched walnut cuz i got it once and then the place stop selling it and i cnt find it anywhere

  • mierda

  • NO SAND!

  • crushed walnut shithead

  • still

    NO LOOSE SUBSTRATE!!!!

  • what do you have in yours then?

  • repti carpet...

  • Have you tried other substrates? if so do you prefer that one most?

  • yes ive tried other sbs, and i have had dead leos becase of it, impaction, and theyre fine with carpet, calci sand is bad

  • So they do fine with carpet then eh? im only asking case my lizard died on easter weekend, and i want to make sure that the next Leo i get has a perfect set up, thanks btw

  • perfect, carpet is the best choice you can have

  • 2 things wrong in this vid. Walnut shells are bad for any animal. Sand should only be used with adult reptiles. And secondly, that cage is far too high for a ground dwelling leopard gecko to provide enough air circulation.

(and leos do better when housed alone)

  • i have 2 and they are like bff lol yea the tank is wayyyy to hig and walnut shell...bad i rather use dand at least that is more natural.

  • erm leos do better in groups :) and yes walnut sheels big no no

  • no their not particularly social animals lol they'd much rather live alone. Also dont put them in groups they'll sometimes fight there teritorial even the females are a little.

  • I used the crushed walnut shells once in my bearded dragon's cage and these small red bugs kept appearing in the cage so obviously, I took it out, only to find that the entire bag was infested! It was disgusting and I will never use it again!

  • what about the oils in the walnut?no one says anything about that.

  • well crushed walnut is in any way is a bad substrate for any reptile. Use sand. Sand is a perfect heat conducter and is attractive. Downside is that ur gecko or beardie migt get impaction. One do not use sand w/ babies since they are not great hunters yet and might eat a lot of sand by accident. Mines are babies and when they get thier crickets they sometimes miss and get the repti carpet. When they are 6in then use sand since they might be good hunters by then or better ttake them out and feed

  • no you dont use sand for a baby leopard gecko

  • they do need uvb there is even proof of this in humans. people on the poles have buildings with uvb and full spectrum lighting in which they read and chill in for a couple of hours or they get sick look it up

  • no not leos... most reptiles do tho. YOU lookit up.

  • I posted on another part of this movie already.

I own over 25 geckos, from leopards, African fat tails to even Madagascar giant day geckos. None are on sand, calci sand etc. Mine are on paper towel and or tile from the hardware store. Tile is easy to clean and no impaction. My beardie and tegus are on tile as well. These guys just want you to buy their stuff. There is no moist hides and they don't need UVB lighting.

  • nah crushed walnut is badfor anything young. i dont know about full grown reptiles, but if you have a baby or juevinile its bad. one of my beardies got a gut impaction from it. but i will say it is a good heat conductor. its just theres too much of a chance of them digesting too much of it and internaly they cant break it down.

  • i dont know what kind of lizard to get =[

    helppp

  • get a gecko they don't bite

  • why do they always cut us off?

  • ive read sooo many caresheets that say crushed walnut IS SHIT!

  • whats a trorrist water dish?

do terrists drink out of them

  • that stuff is like my favorite substrate. it says its 100 percent dijestible! thats awesome and it feels really cool.

  • i use it aswell lol

  • hi i was just wondering of this habitat would be good for a bearded dragon as they are also a desert lizard?

  • omg these guys call them selfs experts a freaking retarded 1st grader would no not to put crushed walnut in a leopard geckos cage it'll give them impaction

  • can leopard gecko use sand in their cage?

    dont they get like infection?

  • they will get impaction and die use paper towel newspaper or repti carpet

  • My friend and 2 reptile shops i go to use sand.... my beardie is on sand and so is my friends leopard gecko. with over 20 years experience joint with that fact i think its stupid to keep animals on newspaper... i mean wtf! Im going to recommend sand. and for baby's use a wet sand and compact it to get them used to sand without any risk of them swallowing any small grains. :)

  • I replied to you, trust me please, dont even risk it, it isnt worth it

  • if you use anything for the lizARD USE repti carpet its cheap for the dragon its ok to use the sand

  • y do people say no lose substrate surly in the wiuld they live on sand in india and packistan?

  • they live near the dessert, where theres lots of rocks, so they do not need sand, repticarpet or newspaper, or even paper-towels is recommended

  • they live in australia not india and pakistan

  • They live in rocky desert areas primarily, not on sand.

  • Crushed walnut is the worst, dont use it ppl please, use playsand or tile!!!!! PLEASE DONT USE CALCI SAND OR CRUSHED WALNUT.

  • why is walnut bad? ive had my gecko on it for about.... 5 months now with no impaction.

  • Walnut sits in the digestive track, and cannot be digested, so will cause impaction, and it's hard on their stomachs, I tent to find it binds. If you really want a loose subtrate use, fine sifted washed playsand!

  • dont use any loose substrates use newspapers paper towels repticarpet but thats just my opinion cause it can cause impaction on your lizard and they can die please dont put this as a bad comment because i'm just stating my opinion thats all

  • it is fine,stupid

  • Newbie.

  • i hate this video i would never do that its way to hard my gecko has a plane tank and i like it

  • u need to use calcium sand

  • calci sand isnt good.

  • Calci sand is made from calcium carbonate (natural cement). If you use it, your reptiles will not live long, it will collect in their intestines and kill them. Calci-sand has been respinsable for 1000's of death's or desert reptiles.

  • wow crushed walnut??! ur gonna make your beardie hav impaction

  • i know no sand is the best substrate

  • mix the calcium powder in with their crickets, mealworms, etc right before feeding. sands bad for leopard geckos under 6 months

  • WRONG! Crushed walnuts are ad for everything!
