Oh Lord! Thoughts go through my mind of my late Dad, all my brothers and Mom ,Grandparents and our Los Angeles home in the early 60's,the love, and togetherness and fun we had as kids and how nice our neighborhood was, and all the people in my life at that time. I don't think there will ever be times like those times again. It's all a dream now.
I hear this and sob because it takes me back to my childhood in the early 60's and memories of my late Dad and the love me and all my brothers had for him and our home in East Los Angeles. What a magic time that was when we were all together and my Grandparents were alive and the security of the family..You don't know what you miss until it's all gone.
@ShagBaby . the car in question was called the ford seattle ite xx1 , they called it the car of the future . it was on show at the 1962 worlds fair seattle 1962 , you can google it for more info .
Gorgeous. Reminds me of my special love in Thailand.
We are separated, but yet not. "Two drifters, off to see the world, there's such a lot of world to see...we're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' round the bend, my huckleberry friend..."
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. If so many others have covered it, it must be timeless.I like the Jerry Butler and Andy Williams versions, but this is my favorite version.
@fillmorecountymn So very sorry about the loss of your dear mom but she lives on in your heart and soul with treasured memories like this VERY lovely song. I also lost my dear mom just four years ago and I know the pain of losing a loving mother. I grew up at the same time as your mom (I was born in 1953) and will always cherish songs like this from that era. Sure always makes me feel young again when I hear sweet songs like this. And for me, this song is "A Song of a Lifetime".
As Big once said to Carrie. It's classic.
